amazing video, tysm for sharing!!
@@merlangos you’re most welcome!
very informative
Black Friday sales 🎉 good idea
Definitely a good time of year to be looking at plugins
Some great tips again let’s go
Appreciate it 🤟🏻
Great job. 👏🏾
Thank you!
Isotope Vinyl is actually really good. I use it for sound design combined with tape and IR to emulate a vintage and tarnished source coming through a small speaker. Fresh Air is excellent for vocals to add an exciter type effect for final polish. Effect at 10-20 unless parallel.
@@brucewayne251 great tips on how to use them. It’s crazy the capabilities these free plugins have!
I'm learning so much from your videos. 👨🎓
Happy to help mate! More content on the way
@ awesome 😎
This was extremely helpful. You should have a million likes. Thank you.
Very kind of you Erik, thank you!
clickbait
What is clickbait about the video?
200 subs congrats Jock keep up the grind 🎉
Appreciate it Nick!
Elevates it big time. Thx for the tips 🙌
Anytime 👊
Congrats on 200 subs!
Thanks Lachie Dogie!
you said fast attack and set the slowest, 1176 is the opposite
Yeah that rings a bell, I forgot this compressor is opposite. Thanks for the heads up mate
Nice video
great tips! on the parallel compression...would it be similar effect than clipping the signal from the drum buss? are they complementary or "one or the other"?
@@johnbaprac great question John. I would definitely do just one or the other. Both are quite extreme techniques and you don’t want to overdo it. If you want a more distorted sound I would go with Drum Bus. For more presence in the mix and clarity I would go with parallel compression.
Keep it up bro !!
@@_priv_gs_1307 appreciate it bro, more to come!!

@@eleck2349 thanks mate!

Love synth base ❤thanks
so good!
Time After Time, one of my favourites. Kudos Synth Bass
@@lachdogie6338 while the synth bass doesn’t kick in for a few minutes in that track, it’s well worth the wait
That thumbnail made me click 😅
😂
Great video Bro. Super helpful
@@onedarkside4830 appreciate it!
Another Excellent video & so true! Distortion is your friend when used in the right context. Plus another reason to test a mix in Mono is because laptop, Bluetooth and mobile speakers are essentially mono, not just the club sound systems.
@@DamoM33 you’re all over it Damo!
Couldn’t agree more! Many takeaways from this. Well delivered 👊🏼
Very well explained and intuitive. Can’t fault your videos 👍🏻
@@DamoM33 appreciate it Damo!
On point! You certainly know the right artists to get inspiration from. That’s a great tip using multi-band dynamics to remove reverb tail from loop 👏🏻
@@DamoM33 the multiband tip was a game changer for me to still use samples that were too atmospheric. Glad you liked it!
@@jamwithjock I will definitely be implementing this more now I know it can be achieved in Live. Previously been using SPL De-Verb for this task 👍🏻
Another concise & intuitive demonstration Jock! I find these devices are great for generating ideas that can be developed further. Bassline patterns can be difficult to create from scratch. Other similar M4L devices I recommend are MK-16-185 Sequencer 1.5, MDD Snake 3.2.3 & Aicd 1.5.1. (All Free). Also, Itfah has updated Sting with version 1.8 which features some additional parameters such as Offset, Accent, Rate, Gate & Key.
@@DamoM33 I’ve got the those sequencers as well, thanks for the sting update tip!
Spot on! The benefit of organising your samples in key is it speeds up workflow. Also, when samples are not adjusted in pitch it preserves audio quality and will translate to a more cohesive mix.👊🏼
@@DamoM33 good stuff Damo
Awesome tips! From experience I recommend effect racks by default on audio & midi channels. It speeds up workflow and doesn’t hinder creativity. The capture to MIDI is a great feature because it takes away the added pressure when trying to record something in. I usually get the best results when I jam along then capture.
Some great takeaways from this! And ofc a brilliant reference track from one of the pioneers of this sound. Well done !
Thanks so much for the kind words, Damo!
What studio head phones are these?
Sennheiser HD 490. Relatively new on the market and I would highly recommend!
Plenty of ear candy in here. Good stuff Commish
