I started woodworking in 2019 in my dad's garage. After the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by storm, I started enjoying woodworking even more and decided to build my own woodworking shop/garage.
I will be sharing the progress of this build as well as my woodworking projects on this channel.
Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Tool recommendations - shop tour
After owning my woodworking shop for a couple of years, I have some experience and opinion about the tools I use. Some of them are really great, and some of them are not so much.

Simple coffee table is not so simple to make
Переглядів 285Рік тому
Often the more simple an object looks or works, the more thought has been put into it to make that happen. Join me in this episode to see what took me to make this coffee table from an old slice of oak log. #coffetable #epoxy #woodworking #liveedge
Live edge bathroom vanity from an old oak slab
Переглядів 885Рік тому
I turned this old European oak slab into a bathroom vanity for my client. It was first time for me using epoxy resin (I do not like river tables, but fixing some defects with epoxy seems reasonable to me). Sometimes an easy request from a client may turn into a quite challenging project. That's when you get more creative and learn something new. I think this turned out great, and I'm glad my cl...
Super strong lumber rack (free plans!)
Переглядів 1 тис.2 роки тому
Organizing a workshop or garage might be intimidating, so I built this lumber storage rack to free up my workshop floor space. With more organized workplace, I is easier to quickly find tools or material, and your overall workflow becomes more efficient. This pile of lumber was laying on the floor since I built the workshop, and it consumed a significant amount of floor space, and by stacking i...
Great looking workshop cabinets from low quality lumber
Переглядів 110 тис.2 роки тому
Sure you can build perfect cabinets from plywood or MDF, but if you don't want to spend a ton of cash for 'just another workshop project', this video is exactly about that. #cabinets #workshop #diy #woodworking #garage
Metabo SPA 1200 Dust/Chip Extractor Unboxing & Review
Переглядів 10 тис.2 роки тому
This small dust/chip extractor Metabo SPA 1200 is great, it totally changed my jointing and planing, because even a powerful shop vac was not sufficient to catch bigger amount of chips. BTW, this video is not sponsored, I am sharing my honest opinion. #metabo #chip extractor #workshop #diy #woodworking #review #unboxing
Workbench from construction grade lumber

Cabinets, workbenches, racks and carts do not have to be made from the highest quality materials. They will get abused, so it's better to make them strong than pretty. And sometimes you can get both! Do you have a video of the issue with the starter I’m having a similar problem
Hey there! Unfortunately, this was not recorded. And also my friend who is certified electrician helped me with this. I would strongly recommend getting assistance from someone who is qualified as this was not very intuitive to say the least :)
Great job .nice to see someone adapting and overcoming . Wish I had all that timber just hanging around , if you had t to go and buy all that from a timber merchants , it would have been an expensive project . Love the finished cabinets look like they will last for ever .
I don't care what people say, I love working with cheap pine
Nice to show that one can make affordable cabinets.
Anyone else think this was going to be simple until he cut to his entire shop of woodworking equipment 😂 Yes let me just use several thousand dollars of equipment to make these boards usable….
Hey! Thanks for the comment. My equipment is actually quite limited. I have maybe 2-3k $ worth of equipment. Even a decent table saw would cost more. So I would say this is doable for most of the viewers. But of course, the same would be hard to achieve with just a hammer and a screwdriver. The understanding of basic equipment is quite different for everyone.
Without fail, on every video where a guy uses a workshop he worked his ass off to put together, there's some whiney ass crybaby complaining about the tools another man owns.
@ Ah, yes, the classic ‘let me tell you how to live your life’ comment. I’m sure your opinion is exactly what he was hoping for when posting a video about his workshop.
Very nice. My workshop is on the upper floor of our barn and the floor is nowhere near level so I’m using your method to level out my cabinets when I build them. And using a magnet to locate studs is brilliant.
Do you have the sketch up available for us?
Unfortunately no, as the project was tweaked on the go. And it is adapted to my particular space. However, it wasn’t that hard to plan it!
I watched a video on cabinet building the other day and he used wooden shims but spoke to one of his fiends on the phone and said use the plastic shims as there more consistent maybe for another build ?
For sure plastic shims are more consistent. But I did not rely on the shims - as shown in the video, I attached boards with screws and cabbinets sit on those boards, not shims ;)
I think it would be better to sit on the shims instead of relying on the sheer strength of a few screws.
Don’t underestimate the power of screws! :D but seriously, they will hold up just fine, at least no sagging in 2 years of use :)
Just use spacers. Problem solved. Nice video
Is that wall sheet rock? Going to look really bad in a short period of time.
Probably it will, but then I will paint that area of the wall the same color the scratches left :)
This is a sweet build! Thanks for the inspiration
Engine power ?
It’s 550W only, but that is plenty strong enough for a single tool use.
Beautiful! I love seeing people repurposing material.
Cheap price, maybe, but you spent so much effort making them! I LOVE your resourcefulness! Great job!
Inspiring work. I have a similar task ahead and you've given me some great ideas and guidance.
I want to build something like this too, but it looks like i will first need to get my hands on about a dozen power tools before i can get started.
Not just power tools, you need to get a whole workshop actually. But don't let that discourage you. Besides the tools shown, you might also want to get a heat gun to deal with resin. You don't need a jointer, but it would make things much easier though. For a beginner, I recommend to buy sheets. Black mdf and plywood and you can have a similar look. With a lot less tools and work.
@@trokt2 Yeah, i guess i'll get a tracksaw and perhaps a jigsaw to get me started. That should get me a long way.
Very nice use of 2x4s
Love the hardware, do you have a source or link for the drawer pulls? Thank you
Unfortunately no, I bought all the hardware in the local big box store.
I have the same machine in Australia
Beautiful!
Well, those turned out great!
Do you have plans?
Sorry for the very late reply! I have plans, but they wouldn’t be useful for you as my case was quite specific, and also multiple things were changed during the build.
You should have clear-coated the wood instead of painting. It had character.
I clear-coated only the middle drawers and the countertop because the rest of the wood was not looking good - it had blue/black stains, so that’s why I did the way I did it :) thanks for the tip anyway!
Looks awesome mate. I might copy that black and natural colour combination as i rework my workshop over the next few months.
Why do you say you cannot buy a jointer new? Is it the cost?
No, I meant this exact jointer :) it’s hard to recommend a tool which practically nobody can get nowadays.
Very nice
Super👍
Great video 🙌 and really helpful because I thought about building a kitchen like that 💪 and now I basically have a tutorial on how to do it. 🙏
Congratulations! Looks good. How's it holding up and do you have issues getting parts?
Hey! It’s holding well, no issues so far. Regarding getting parts - I think only used ones are possible to get. But I don’t think it will need any anytime soon :)
Hey there! Can you, please tell me if the propeller in the motor is plastick, or metal?
Hey! I’m pretty sure it’s plastic, but haven’t checked to be honest:)
@@jonasvaleisa Hey! Thanks, mate. In the meantime, I investigated and it is mase of ABS plastic, very hard. I was also told it is also made ftom plastic to basically diminish a risk of static charge. Nonetheless, I ordered the machine and should be here tomorrow - I just need to find a way how to tell my wife 😁
what a great job, well done
Impressive especially for a first shot. Be careful with that table saw 🖐️✌️🤞🤘🤟🫰🤙👇👆☝️👈👉👌🤏🤌
I want that jointer hahaha, great work and that machine will last for 100+ years
Caulking rookie
Well, I sure am :))
Real nice! You have a PLANER! That's a real luxury item! What was total cost of your workbench/cabinet project?
Thanks for the comment! The planer is one of the best tools I have and love using. It had some issues (I replaced the motor twice, luckily under warranty) until I started using a proper chip extractor. Regarding the cost of cabinets - I think I shared it in the video, somewhere near the end :)
Very Nice.
Nice built Jonas! Greetings from down under Australia….Muy bien!
Hermosa estufa
Cool!
Keep going bro, your work is great!
Very nice 👍 i learned a lot in this video. I love that jointer maybe you can make a video on it .
Hey! The video about this jointer is in ny channel, please feel free to check ;)
Excellent results! That piece has character and a story as well. In time, more people will pay attention to your work. I simply want to make very nice boxes, and build a workshop, but you are doing things that just seem amazing. I really appreciate your use of reclaimed materials. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
That is a very impressive restoration of a machine that seems to have been left for dead. Where I come from, we always say, "They don't build them like they used to." Your persistence may have provided you with a solid machine that will work to your benefit for decades. The green paint is perfect, and assuming the cast iron surface is clear and flat, you'll have the bragging rights and a story to tell. It isn't perfect, but it's a very nice machine, and it has personality. Clearly that was a lot more work than your video could explain. Congratulations!
What screws (diameter/length) did you use for the pocket holes?
If I recall correctly, it was 45x4mm screws, with flat bottomed heads. You have to be careful though - when using pocket screws on a pine lumber it's really easy to drive them too deep.
You won the DIY shop cabinet competition! You really make the most of the tools/materials you have available, I think. That is admirable.
Thank you! At that moment, I had a privilege to spend time building and learning new skills rather than spending money, so I was lucky in a way :)
Your building would easily have been $40,000 in my part of the US, if you'd paid a contractor. Congratulations on your magnificent results!
It's a very impressive job you're doing (have done). For future projects requiring water-based wall paint, instead of thinning paint with water, I'd like to suggest a small miracle called Flotril in the US. It is added to water-based paint to make it flow more evenly, and flatten out to avoid streaks from rolling the paint. In my experience, it also makes brushed paint appear flat. It's not too expensive, and one liter can fortify several gallons of paint. I've used it for all of my painting/repainting in my home, and the results are very nice. My walls appear to have been sprayed instead of rolled. Great job on the building! It would be a residential home here, but we have a milder climate!
I have to say, my memory might be failing me, but the product is called Floetrol now, as far as I can tell. At any rate, it is a very good supplement to water-based paint. Apologies if I sent you into a fruitless search because I did not spell the name correctly.
Excellent Inspiration- thank you Where do you come from?
Thanks! I’m from Lithuania, Europe :)
Nice work gave the old girl another 80 years of life. My old stove needs a facelift as well. Your stove could fit in my stove so i have my work cut out for me....
