This engine is only suitable as a range extender engine for an electric hybrid car.
The gsxr750 should be in the comparison
@@stephenrandall5859 it's STI-I-I-IL the "Goldie Loks" bike.
Hopefully they’ve ironed out their reliability gremlins and decided to pony up on warranty repairs. These two issues have made me stay clear of KTM. They’ve been losing dealers because of these problems as well. When done properly KTM builds one hell of a machine, so I’m rooting for them to right the ship.
Buy cfmoto, they fixed the camshaft problem and has far better attention to customers
@@pablocarballeira4443I like the idea of what CFmoto is bringing to the market, but bolts rusting on a bike only few months old? No, thanks..
@@saifaldin_ rust? I live in a very cold and wet place an never had an issue with the 650mt in 5 years, now i have the 800nk for 2 months,no problems so far.
@ Good to hear.. Where I live, it’s hot and humid. Recently bought 675SRs are starting to rust.
@@saifaldin_ sad to hear that, but no matter what motorcycle you get, cant beat nature, unless you are rich and replace every bolt with titanium ones lol
Great looking bike. But I'll accept a 1,500$ premium over R9. Any more than that, It will be R9 for me.
I'm thinking it's going to be halfway between the r9 and the V2 which puts a at about 2.5-3k by my math. The performance kind of splits the difference so the price will probably do the same. It's like the bike's weren't really built to compete with each other.
@@wheeliepimp11 you're probably right. In reality, I can probably take a 2k MSRP difference consider most Yamaha dealers might have a markup in CA, which should even things out. But I don't want the KTM marketing people to see this and raise the price. lol. For me, the R9 is competing with RS660 because they are the same price.
I don't know for prices in $, but in €, if you take the 990 Duke's price as a starting point, the RC has to be more expansive, and it should put it around 17 or 18 k€, when the R9 is at 13,5 k€ in my country (France). So I highly doubt that the RC will be competitive pricewise. I have had 3 KTMs in a row, but switched to an MT-09 this year, becasue I couldn't justify the price of the 990 Duke in my case (among different reasons of course).
The R9 is a parts bin bike and the 890 triple makes at LEAST 10 bhp less than the 765. It should be making gixer 750 bhp+
@@vannevels6758 your inability to ride, is much higher than 10bhp. So you can be relaxed. It doesn't matter to you.
Butt ugly, lower power than the competition and KTM's ignoring customer complaints about faulty engines. Yeah these should fly off the showroom floor 😒. What is it with the Austrians & Germans? They can not conced that their engineering & design is not the best. Much better to ignore and deflect blame back to the customers not knowing how to ride. That will surely gain market share 😒.
for a start it looks great, like the motogp bike. in this segment so long as it has enough then power numbers dont matter.
they have announced the engine fix plan. An it only affected a small batch.
Ugly is certainly subjective and it seems like some people like it. I do have concerns about the engine. People really like the German and Austrian motorcycles and it feels like carving a niche with brand loyalty has been the bigger approach. When I was younger, Ducati wasn't known for its reliability. A super duke is silly fun and just that with a fairing is probably enough to excite anyone who's ridden one. The dirt bikes and supermotos also built up quite the fan base. You say competition and I think you mean the V2 but I think they have their own niche. No more than this is "competing" with the r9.
I saw the RC8 in EICMA and it was the best looking sports bike in the exibition
unreliably is a major problem ...poor quality
Have you owned a KTM or are you just regurgitating the nonsense?
This avani engine is more likely to be used in warfare drones than in cars or motorbikes 🏍 🤔
The vast majority of these, were not pioneered by KTM, but BMW. The others, like blindspot and rear collision assist were first available on Ducati.
Love it im waiting for it in Germany
What a piece of crap.
Can u build one?
So, your notion is that you should build an engine before you decline on using/buying it. That is an very inefficient approach - good luck with that. Anyone with a basic grasp of ICEs can see potential issues with this engine. Trained engineers can see more problems. Go to Twin Rod Avadi Engine - Perfect Balance in a Single Cylinder - Genius or Just Another Pipedream? on UA-cam.
I will never buy another KTM and I've owned them since the 70s they have let down all their customer base by all their f****** stupid business practices they have made a bunch of junk in the last 3 years this shows about the camshafts and engines does CF Moto 450 is a KTM bike which KTM should have built but they did not because she has Moto has the strings on putting the bike out for sale which is actually a good bike Will it have camshaft failures we're going to find out cuz that's what happens when you have chino seal
I actually think that CF Moto sabotaged all the late model KTM adventure bike because why are the KTM adventure bikes all having camshaft problems in the CF Moto adventure bikes are not having camshaft failures and the bikes that are badge KTM which are the same ones built in the same Chinese factory why are those bikes failing and those are actually twice the money who is f****** who the consumer because we're spending twice on a KTM when it's a rebadge CF moto bike the CF Moto 450 I back is the bike that KTM should have had 3 years ago and they know it instead of this stupid 390 single cylinder trail bike obviously that CFMOTO has control of KTM and they're trying to run them in the ground which is a bummer used to be a great motorcycle manufacturer they cared about the sport
KTM needs to buy another motorcycle manufacturer that they can copy and build bikes that actually are acceptable all the KTM street bikes look like s***out of a f****** Frankenstein movie what are they thinking people do not want bikes like this looks like something a tweaker would make have a nice day
The design team in Austria are incredible people they are very smart they are the ones that are feeding the information to CF Moto in China to build good bikes because China has no history of making anything that's worth the f***quality is Job 1 but in the Chinese mentality is cut corners cut corners cut corners can you cut too many corners what do you do you crash
The only real good bike they built was in 2005 which was the 525 which was a husaberg coffee that was awesome they have forgotten their Roots which made them strong all they focused on was the money which will end their lifespan they've almost had bankruptcy four times CF Moto and poor really mobility group a bunch of shitbag investors that do not care about you and me as the writing public last thing I want is a bike that I pay $15,000 for that takes a s*** in 6 months that will not be back by a warranty you guys can see everything that's happening with the two stroke and the four strokes camshaft failures TBI failures because they're just punching out junk have a nice day
When they bought hoosen bird for their four-stroke technology they should have kept the hoosen bird named because it was the s*** that's where they f***** up the 90° four-stroke motor was way ahead of its time they should attack it and ran with it instead of doing the gas gas thing which was a waste of money the bedtime that husaberg was in business they won more championships in 5 years and almost all Japanese motorcycle manufacturers people forget how history was if it wasn't for who's in Burg and KTM buying them KTM would never be the racing dominance that they are they have totally forgot their history and past tense their people make them strong now moving everything to China CF Moto is there going to be Chinese f****** junk have a nice day
The only thing KTM can do is buy another motorcycle manufacturer that is successful and try to straighten it out they should have bought Ducati when they had a chance then they would have had a premier motorcycle but they've tried to mess around and try to buy these other manufacturers suck out all their technology and then shut them down the gas gases from Spain were really nice bikes they should have left the factory in Spain instead of moving it to Austria cuz all they did was try to ride the gas gas name as a KTM app it had no soul it was just another punched out KTM copy bike which are marginal on their best day and they know better they're just a Chinese company back CF Moto don't get me wrong CF Moto make some nice bikes I see the 450 Mt which is probably the bike that KTM should have built but because CF Moto is in control right now now the CF Moto 450 is a nice bike but it should have been bad as a KTM they would have got 11 grand for it but now that bike sells for 6500 bucks see where the industry is going
European bikes only Triumph and Ducati... the rest is pure marketing and bad engineering.
Also Beta, Sherco, TM and the Spanish made Montessa are European made.
KTM spends more on advertising than on reliability.
After the camshaft warranty fiasco I'm not ever going near KTM. They're greedy corps who don't honour their warranty claims.
Boycott KTM. Boycott any company backing their production to China.
👏
They are garbage and i am a ktm mechanic.
What one would you say is the least problematic?
No response because they are trolling. I'm an actually ex Honda tech. My 1290 has never let me down.
That’s crap, my 1290 superduke r has never had any issues at all.
They need to focus on making better looking bikes that are reliable. Not everyone wants to ride an orange cockroach.
I just know one delaship I've been there 3 times (1st to buy a bike, I quoted twice none came to me) 2 times to service the superduke I bought somewhere alse after they missed on my sale. I'm not gonna get in to details, that delaship was the worst most careless delaship I ever been to. Side note I'm a service advisor in a car delaship myself and seen some shit, but they say they operate considering it's damn nice brand is shocking and discrediting for KTM. I'm not going back there and will work on the bike myself maybe sell it after a year or so :/ shame, you expect at least a dealer that has some respect to their customers and competent techs. Again it's just one delaship that I know, but every delaship matter for the brand to thrive, or at least not be incompetent a**holes. Sad, I do enjoy the bike.
They spending way too much on MotoGP, almost bankrupt Suzuki, and Kawasaki before that
to expensive
Stop making UGLY motorcycles, every review says the same thing. Great handling great power why so ugly. They seem to be proud of it!
Quality control/ oil leaks
@@boxster21 dont forget welding done by stevey wonder
I would buy one if it wasn’t so damn ugly
KTM, people love your bikes, make better products, its not that hard, get your quality under control
I almost traded my Africa Twin for the 990 which I test rode and absolutely loved. KTM's reliability is a big issue. The camshaft issues with the 790 and 890's showed that they don't care about their customers and let them hang with enormous loss
@Daniel75gr yeah after i heard of the camshaft issues i dont feel comfortable reccomending or even wanting to buy a new KTM bike. Which is a shame! I really wanted a new RC990 once it came out Even their flagship bike the superdukes are riddled with issues on top of the fact that ktm is basically the only manufacturer i know that has tech packs for features other manufacturers bikes come with free of charge, greedy 😐
You can have perfect quality, but if the design is bad, it doesn’t matter.
Every motorcycle company make bikes that are not good enough. Supersport are still at a technological finish. But every other motorcycle have parts and design that looks cheap and handmade home in the garage. 😢
Hardly surprising. Has they tend to be more on the expensive side.for nothing that special
No brand New triple cylinders engine, they just will use the 950 of the enduro véloce!
KTM’s Lying CEO .. mucking his customers about for 4 years & selling us Cheese Camshafts , then pretending they know nothing.
Canadian invention
Rather have long stroke, public doesn't have free factory mechanics. Why call it 698 if it's 659 cc?

Looks like a new avenue in combustion engines. I'd like to see this thing introduce for the hobbyist and classic vehicles.
2020年モデルに乗っているけど、絶対手放せないな。
I waiting for my thruxton final edition green so lucky to get one!!
I can't wait😭 I love my 450 but its time to upgrade!
Successful elements of F1 !!! ...mate F1 has been having nightmarers for the last decades .. since they have taken off a lot of elements and extreme budget caps...it gives only a favour to 1 team, then other teams can not ctach and close the technical gap due to budget gap. I have never lost my interest to F1 before like recent years. Thanks to McLaren as they pinched one of Red engineer and now we can watch some good racing.
We need BMW, Suzuki and Kawasaki in MotoGP
The competitors are the Daytona 660 and the Aprilia RS 660 etc., not the 600cc Supersport bikes from Kawasaki, Honda etc.
Not according to publications like Cycle World and so on... "That’s a favored capacity for triples, largely due to old racing regulations that let 675cc three-cylinder bikes compete against 600cc fours but also because it hits a sweet spot between size and performance."
I think it is over priced! that said, it is a lovely looking bike.
Amazing motobike. I would like to try
