UA-cam suggested this to me. Interesting to see the meat used here. Biltong really comes into its own when it has fat because it adds a layer of flavour that lean cuts just lack. The cuts you used were also quite thin but it would mean they dry much quicker. I've had jerky and I can see why it's popular but it's just not for me, love biltong in all it's variants. 🙂

Dang, wish I could attach a pic, but just spent 2 days exploring Leipzig's Weihnachtsmärkte and went to the SAME Flammlachs booth that you did, in the Finnish area, and tried the SAME sandwich that Anna liked, because we had to know if the hype was real. :) Been posting all our pics on Facebook every day. For the record, the milchreis was my personal lose-my-mind fave.

Haha that soup alike we call it "paçe" with a little tail under the "c." In English you can pronounce it as "patche." It's usually cooked with 3 different organs of cows: cow's brains and meats inside the head, or cow's intestines or with gelatin from cow's legs. It's very popular in my country but it also depends who cooks it. You seem impressed in that restaurant so, it must've been good. Usually, it's eaten in early morning hours starting from 5am and it is a powerhouse dish that will keep you strong all day. But, best of our traditional food exists not in Tirana but in high mountain villages.

Szczecin has a different vibe than most Polish cities- a gloomy melancholy dominated by fog and much German architecture. But it's a quiet charm once you grasp it. The Hanseatic spirit of adventure at sea lives there.

Don't give up on Szczecin, it's a great place. My wife is from there and so we're regular visitors, we were there in November and are booked to return in March. There is lots to see in Szczecin and in the surrounding area. A trip up to the Baltic coast we would recommend or to a place called Nowe Warpno by the Szczecin lagoon. Cafe 22 gives views of the city from the 22nd floor of what is known as the Pazim building. There are many restaurants and cafes in Szczecin to suit most tastes.The Christmas market you visited is on Plac Lotnikow and my mother-in-law lives very nearby !!
