Yeah, if you had read my other messages to people I have absolutely no intention of doing anything like that and completely respect him, his family and injuries. I can’t even begin to imagine what both him and his family are going through and I have deleted all the pictures that I had of the incident so please rest assured. Thanks for your concern

Not sure 🤔 there were two serious incidents, just the one ☝️ I’m aware of. Yeah, well, pretty horrendous, 2 Air Ambulance 🚑🚁 Helicopters and marshals holding up sheets etc. pretty damn serious. Didn’t see the whole thing and I don’t like to speculate but it was an Austin A38 messed up it’s braking/got tagged from behind and put onto the grass where it dug in and rolled several times before coming to a holt.

@@tommurray3360 Ah sounds nasty. Quarry has it's reputation for a reason 😐. I thought there was another incident in the Hot Hatch race at first as there was no race result on TSL, but looks like it was just cancelled.

@@stevenbryant2993 Yeah truly hideous, absolutely couldn’t agree more, ah no you see with the Hot Hatches what the Race Directors decided to do was to cancel the Hot Hatches Race and let them have 2 races on Grand Finals Day it took an hour and a half + until racing resumed after the Crash in the HDRC

Oh my gosh Horrific 😔😟😔, been going to Castle Combe as a Spectator for at least 15 + years, and that’s the worst accident I’ve ever seen there! I have also marshalled for 5 years and marshalled for BTCC and there’s only one ☝️ incident that comes close to todays events.

We now know the name of the Driver involved - Charles Knill-Jones & Castle Combe have released a statement… “The serious accident that occurred during the third race of CCRC’s bank holiday Monday meeting provided many challenges and the resulting delays, together with unprecedented attention from the Wiltshire Police RTA Investigation Unit, meant that at one point, the entire meeting was put at risk. In these circumstances we as organisers are forced to make difficult decisions which include amending the event timetable and it’s important that we take a balanced view. On Monday this meant shortening race distances and cancelling our Hot Hatch race, which was an extremely difficult decision to make. Motor racing is a capricious sport and past years have seen all Castle Combe Circuit championships, and some visiting races experience the same disappointing outcome due to events beyond our control and I know as racers you will fully understand the reasons for these tough decisions. We are a small, tight-knit club operating inside an envelope of camaraderie to provide motor racing for members at an historic circuit. Please be assured that we will do our utmost to compensate Hot Hatch drivers and teams at Finals Day on 1st October for the disappointment they experienced. Thank you to club members for offers of help and words of support during the race meeting and I’m sure you join us in wishing injured HRDC driver Charles Knill-Jones a speedy and complete recovery.”

I understand now this was not from this Monday gone this was Howard's race day. the reason behind it being done under yellows/ saftey car was that the driver was OK the fire was delt with rather quickly from thebmarshals and no damage to the car so it could be moved by marshals under yellows. we would only go red if the post chief ask for a race stop or the Clark of course feels it's necessary with the information given by post chief. so if we can do it under saftey car and the marshals feel safe that's what we will do keeps the race moving. I am marshal and work in race control for castle combe.
