As an End of Life Doula I understand the importance of Advance Directives, Wills and Power of Attorney to ensure the person dying is able to make their wishes known and be assured that their affairs are in order. Advance Care planning and Legacy are also among the many issues that are important to have in place in order to ensure the person dying can live fully and be assured that their wishes are known and carried out and also that the burden and decision making that accompany death does not fall on the surviving loved ones while they are grieving. With all information in place and shared with all providers and caregivers there is less chance of confusion during an already difficult time. Thank you for the Journal, Nicole!

Oh gosh...8 tracks!! That was the worst format EVER to come out for recorded music!! I would get so pissed when, in the middle of a song, (sometimes the best song on the album) the stupid thing would have to change tracks in order to play the rest of it because of how they formatted it. So annoying. My dad had one in his car. That's how I found out about the format. Fortunately for me, I never had to deal with that pain in the a** system because I went straight for vinyl when buying my music, and soon bought a cassette recorder so I could make tapes of my records and from FM radio stations to play my favourite songs in my car. FWIW, I still spin plenty of vinyl today, including some of the albums I bought back in the day when I first started buying records. A lot of those date back to the very early 1970s, and I even have one or 2 from the 60s, even before I became a teenager and really got into pop and rock music.
