thanks, helped me a lot for a presentation!!!
Sweet. Let me know if there's anything else you need that would help you. Good luck! I have students all around the world. Let me know how I can help!
Glad it helped! Best of luck to you!
Can’t believe cnn is still running. Tic toc ⏰.. .. ..
What do you think about tariffs? Have you seen any impact on your business or the products you buy? And what do you think about Trump's advocacy of tariffs? Let us know in the comments!
If you think that he put all that money in to trump for nothing you need help Trump is going to listen to this man he is in trump ear now all of sudden they are friends
That's exactly the point. Absolutely.
Sadly None of this will matter when the voted in Convict gets the keys to the White House.
Do you think billionaires like Elon Musk should have such a powerful influence on government decisions? Let us know in the comments below!"
Nobody gives a fat rats ass about celebrities! They don’t pay people of Americas bills! Vote Trump/Vance for America 🇺🇸
Celebrities matter sometimes, but they don't usually sway people's votes when endorsing candidates.
MAGA leaning CNN don’t care for CNN
2016 Trump (A NEW HOPE) 2020 Biden (EMPIRE STRIKE BACK) 2024 Trump (RETURN OF THE JEDI) ................SITH LORD Biden has fallen....DART Kamala next...................................JEDI TRUMP 2024...........................
No it don't because if any of these celebrities would have endorsed trump i still wouldn't have voted for him.
Yeah, that's one of the points I make. Most people don't care about celebrity endorsements of candidates. There are some effects, but they're more profound on issues that aren't quite so divisive.
@drmaharvey no one asked these celebrities asked because they hate trump and don't want trump to win. They asked to speak against trump and for Kamala because no one but trumpards want trump to win. Steven Mills us talking about loading people up on trains and taking them out the country. Now that scares the hell out of me because the last person who did this Hitler.
@drmaharvey in some cases it does make a difference. The comedian that spoke at trump rally really helped show what kind a man trump is for allowing this man to say those things
@@DFL_iBAIP It certainly didn't reflect well on him, did it?
Just look to see who’s on the Epstein and Diddy lists and you’ll find your Harris donors.
Don’t forget to comment below with your thoughts on AI in education! How do you think it will shape the future of learning?
I was worried I wasn’t teaching my class the way others did but this is so straight down the line and it reassured me that we are teaching this class to students all over, at different colleges and INST and Universities
As well we should be. I agree. I think it's important that students learn this format and that the basic idea gets kicked up a notch if they go to grad school. ua-cam.com/video/amtvzOgDG8g/v-deo.html
In this video, I encourage you to look into the US Commercial Service for resources on exporting and promoting your business overseas. What other tips, tricks, or sources of information have you found to be helpful in your business expansion efforts? Leave comments below!
What are your thoughts on corporate social responsibility and sustainability? These companies seem pretty committed. Do you think businesses are growing a social conscience? Is this all greenwashing and cynical marketing? Or is there something else going on? Leave your comments below! I want to hear from you.
I put out this video a while back when my hair was still floppy and I was a young professor. It's still a good description of different variants of liberalism, particularly in international relations, international political economy, and political theory. Don't expect anything too deep here. If you really don't understand this stuff, this will bring it down to earth. And yeah, I had low tech and a bad web cam, but a lot of people seem to be getting good out of it, so I'm keeping it up. :)
What should our trade policy be? Leave comments below! This video comes from a few years ago. If I did it today, yeah, I'd have better tech. But nothing has really changed. Hope you enjoy the video!
Is mercantilism an effective trade approach? Let me know in the comments below. By now, this video is old but not dated. The information is as relevant as ever. And yes, you get to see some of my low budget attempts at special effects while I explain autarky from a submarine. Hope you still find it entertaining!
There are a lot of hot issues in this video...American economic supremacy, global trade rivals, the power of US manufacturing and products "made in America," as well as outsourcing/offshoring of American jobs and exploitation of workers. It's a mixed bag. There's a lot going well, but we have a lot of work to do. What do you think about this? Leave your comments below!
This is a video I recently discovered of a speech I was invited to give at Baker University back in 2009. It does not encompass my entire educational philosophy, but does address a critical part of it: that students who experience challenges learn more and value the experience more. Feel free to share your own opinions on this subject in the comments below!
Thanks for loving this video! I thought about redoing it, looking at the creative way I was trying to overcome my limited technology. However, I think it is still current and relevant. Do some research and see if you think I need to do an update. I look forward to your comments below!
I thought about updating this video...it's grainy and relies on my low tech from a while back. But the content is still solid and it's more historical than contemporary. Still it invites controversy and debate. Leave your comments below if you want to discuss it...or if you want me to put up some other videos on the topic!
I developed this video a LONG time ago and might still update and replace it. However, there isn't much that I'd do differently. There's plenty of data to suggest that not much has changed...or has it? Leave some comments below!
I mentioned that I'm not a financial guy, but these are good tips. But I'll tell you who is...Phil Watlington, one of our professors here and a former CFO at GE. He leads the trading team at the University of Saint Mary, where our students do real financial trades and fund their own scholarships. Yeah, you can come to Saint Mary on a full paid scholarship if you make the trading team. Check it out. ua-cam.com/video/RxfsOXwN3z0/v-deo.html
I mentioned the University of Saint Mary's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program. Did you know they are national champions in several competitive events? Join our group. We'd love to have you!

Useful and informative video. The very practical approach prompt about the non-academic history of the author.

I'd like to know in which other cultures you have lived that qualifies you to give such advice. You seem to know nothing from experience.
Have you had experience living overseas? If so, I'd love to hear about your times, too. I lived in the UK for several years and I've travelled for business, education, and fun across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. You can take or leave what I have to say. Much of it is based in the academic literature, which lines up with my personal experience. So it's okay to not take my word for it based on my experiences if you don't care to. But the research behind my experiences stands on its own. What I uniquely offer in my videos are my personal experience, my research, and my presentation style. Anyone with a similar level of experience would likely come to similar conclusions, although different people do certainly have their own experiences. If you'd like to review my professional and educational qualifications, you can check out my LinkedIn page. www.linkedin.com/in/drmaharvey/
*Hey, please check your email*
The editing in this video... kinda rocks? Almost felt like a standup comedy special, spliced together from multiple takes. I mean it shows its age, but the ideas of framing were kinda eye catching.
Thanks! As you can see, I filmed this a long time ago and I did my best to make it look "good" given my low tech limitations. I'm just a simple professor trying to make his way in the universe.
Thank you
Ayy, this is great. I'm doing some review for a test in my International Political Economy class more than 12 years after you made this and it's helping me review aspects of the different traditional schools of IPE.
2008? OMG!
Why is the video sound quality so bad? The teaching is good, but the sound quality is bad
the people we socialise with determine who we become
+Fundi Brian very true

This is a great tool - I'll probably watch it at least one more time before I finish my first paper. Thank you for the "why we do this" at the end, it gave meaning to this madness
good closing section. very interesting.
Sweatshops don't allow a country to progress. Increased standard of living allows countries to progress. The standard of living was better for all those people when they lived in traditional ways, eating a wholesome diet and working reasonable hours in a culturally meaningful setting. It is utterly racist to claim our western culture is better than other ways of living and that adopting western culture means "progressing". America is capitalist, moving closer to a "free market" all the time!
They are not slaves. The sweatshop is their best option. It sucks compared to our standards. But this is how third world nations progress into first world nations. America went through the same thing during the industrial revolution. And America is not capitalist. We are fascist. That is why things are so fucked up here. Please do not confuse real captialism with the current corporatist nightmare that exists today.
You can preach the glory of sweatshops when you yourself willingly decide to work in one over all your other options (options which you also don't have many of if your living in capitalist America). You are essentially making the argument that we shouldn't end slavery because working on a plantation is the only job a slave could ever find. ---I mean, they're slaves, right? Colonialism and international capitalism has put the masses of poor where they are.
The fact remains that they have a choice to work in the factories. They could have easily refused en masse. But obviously, working in the sweatshops is attractive enough for them to want to go there. No one has been forced into poverty; quite the opposite. As I said before, the wages and safety conditions in sweatshops (yes, they are bad by OUR standards) are better than the other alternatives available to them. Suggesting that they are worse off after the factories came is preposterous.
Look up the video "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" on ytube and your local library
Look at history before you make claims that everything in the present is justified. Before corporations and colonialism destroyed native cultures and economies around the world, people in many countries lived long, fulfilling lives without our western technology or values. Then corporations undercut their economies using slave or essential slave labor from other countries (and technology), destroying their economies and forcing the local populations into poverty, to work in western factories.
They don't use slave labor. The children and others working in the Nike sweatshops were not kidnapped at gunpoint and forced to work in the factories like a deathcamp. They work in the sweatshops because the wages and conditions there are far better than any other alternatives they have. If you get rid of sweatshops, you will force children into dangerous farm work or prostitution.
