The Bakery is a place you really need to eat at. Trails for all types of use. The Water Falls is a good visit also.

Just did a touch and go there today, definitely a more challenging approach but fun nonetheless
only 30' wide, not 60'
C170?
Ahhhh yes, I remember the tail wind that put me all the way up to the fence
pilot walks into a bar, bartender says, why the long final?
That's an airport? With all that land, maybe widen that strip even 20' and lengthen it 200'. That's nothing more than a sidewalk on the side of the highway but as a pilot, I'd sure dig flying into it.
awesome looking area where is it?
This looks like a really tricky field to get in and out of. I was thinking of coming for my WA passport stamp sometime, but it's pretty intimidating-looking!
Please listen the lat/Lon of these airstrips so someone else can find them as well--Thanks John Rosen
John, what tail dragger are you flying? I did not recognize the aircraft with video shot from the belly. The steps are throwing me off. I have over 600 hours flying luscombes, Cessna 140, J3 and super cub
You could have used the paved road.
This is awesome.
Some people may call it horseshoe because it has a slight bend in it it’s actually called Bull run, Bull run Canyon is just up river
Looks like a paved strip to me, where you landed in the grass on the side.
Chukar Flats is one of my favorites.
We love Fat Freddies. Also, the pictures of airplanes, (on Fat Freddies walls,) that have overrun the road are interesting. Also, have seen a couple of planes stuck in the mud on those nice grassy areas at high tide.
Lovely.
Do you have any coordinates for this, or a rough idea where it is located geographically? Thanks

Just watch the mud.
Nice. Just... nice.
Great video. Thanks. 180 or 185?
HotRod Ray 185 this event everyone should do. It is just a lot of fun!
What are you flying John? The FPV view gives a better look at what the pilots are seeing as apposed to the typical side line view. Nice clip!
Matt Insley I am flying a 185. This was the best event I have been to.
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the video. My flying group in the virtual world on flight simulation purchased this airport. :)
Driven by there for years, always wondered what it would look like from the air. Cool, thanks,
Really enjoy watching your videos John. Jay
Brian the distance is approximately 85 miles
The new lodge should be completed.
Where on the Deschutes River is this strip? Great video...
Beautiful remote country! Nice filming. How far out of town of John Day? Your Cessna handled nicely! Thanks for posting.
The Sandy Kiwanis had a great Breakfast
This is a good stop over with the Café and a Motel next to each other.
