I just found out about the Coin Stars in December 2024, so I started checking the one at my local Wal-Mart. The first few times there was nothing in the rejected bin, but on 12/26/2024 there was one coin down there...a *1961 SILVER dime.* My first find EVER was silver! Since then I've only found 12 cents in regular change, but it never hurts to look.

Shiny coins inpress the rookie coin collector but dealers wont ever buy them, and they will grade cleaned by PCGS.

Nice coin , I have bu rolls of those things and I can get anyone to buy them. Sitting on them for now.

What does it cost to get a coin graded?

Thanks for the great hunt! I have been working on about $125 worth of nickels this week. It has been fun! I found a piece of Nazi money, a Belgian coin, a 42-P War Nickel, 4 - 2024 nickels, and small handfuls of 40s & 50s to add to my square tubes. I did NOT find any 2009s, buffaloes, or key/semi-key dates. I have been searching nickel rolls since the early 80s, when I was a kid. I can count ON ONE HAND the number of 1938D & S and 1939D & Ss I've found. They're extremely difficult to find in circulation. Also, again - since the early 80s, I finally found my FIRST 1950-D in circulation LAST YEAR, in 2024. My first and only one! I have touched millions and millions of nickels; it is so much fun! According to PCGS, "Gem BU" should be MS-65. "BU" indicates MS-60 to MS-62, "Choice BU" is MS-63 to MS-64, "Select BU" is an exceptional MS-64 not quite Gem and "Superb BU" is MS-66 to MS-67.

GEM B.U. is a minimum of MS65

i did that . took me three years and had all except a dozen even found two circulated proof only coins and then a guy robbed me .

I got a 1907 version which I bought for around $1700. Such a beautiful coin for sure.

I'm assuming these "no cents" liberty nickels are easy to plate today but wouldn't be worth the same as an original racketeer nickel. How could you tell the difference?

Grading of submitted coins are done by graders under extreme magnification. What you see with a naked eye is different from What they see.

Everytime I see someone try to point out errors or other things PCGS has not recognized it 😢

If it's graded @ 64 it dropes the prices of the other 64's !! Humans grade it !! Never no If that person or their family has 1 themselves !!

I would say in the 1970s.

Ezest is the way to go. But 3 out of 10's gona be ruined take your own risk. Copper is 50 50 silver only on UNC with a few dirt and oils.other than that. It wont clean oxides
