I took me 2 years to get over Bob Ross's style.

If ur ever in the Morgantown WV / Pittsburgh area. I can take u to several places like that. ESPECIALLY in the fall. One place is quite unique. The stream is every bit as lively. It's an expert only grade rapids. What makes it so unique is they closed the iron bridge. Not for safety reasons. U would be able to set up in the middle of the bridge if you wanted and not be bothered by vehicles. If you read this, I can send u pictures or a short video if you like. People come to WV from all over to "take in the colors". We are in the heart of the Appalachians. I've been to Maine and Vermont. They have nothing on us. Just saying P.s. if ur a grouse hunter I could get u a few flushes I'm sure. ✌️

Great tutorial. What colours to use and how to paint the trees changes depends on the country that you live in too. I paint Australian trees. The trees are less dense. Our sky tends to be bright unless it is overcast.

Life long struggle im glad you said that, ive been painting for 15 years plein air and in studio, first plein event i was so excited i loved it but not happy sith the results. A couple times I’ve almost given up luckily I tried a different medium. I went back to my pastels that made me feel better so then I went back to the oils.
