Hello De’Aira, you may not read this on time. Next week I start tanker training in Houston. My recruiter called to do the final check in and make sure I received hotel information. I let him know hotel was reserved for 2 weeks instead of 3 weeks. He said its done like that because the last 2-3 days is OTR. I asked him you mean 2 weeks OTR not 2-3 days. Won’t go with the back and forth in order to keep this post short. I choose Schneider because of their extensive training. Any insight or observations you noticed? am I really going to get my 2 weeks over the road or I’m going to be 2-3 days and back? I’m starting to doubt.
I have a question do you need your endorsements before you start your training or can you get it through them?
I was watching the video and I see that you're eating fast food. You either break that habit now or you're going to be in a world of hurt later. You're going to put on weight like crazy sitting in that truck. Personal experience still struggling with it today. Exercise frequently. Now I do and I find ways to get my exercise when now I'm dealing with that truck
Remember you are just starting out. They can't take the experience from you. So you are head of the game even though you getting paid low pay. Yeah you getting McDonald's pay right now but in the long run you'll get paid way more with that experience that you are having right now

Yes, I slept in the truck with my trainer. She was a women, I think if it’s the opposite sex they will you give you a hotel .

I came with my CDL .
Oh okay my son was just at the Schneider in Indiana and he only had a permit, was sent home on his 8 day 2 days before he was going to be riding with a TE because he failed the test on using the tablet , now has a bill of 2400. Thanks for responding he didn't know that's how it works. Be safe out there . 😊
So sorry to hear that. I believe after a few months, Schneider will let you reapply. Hopefully that’s an option for him.
@@NewAira yeah they said 21 days to start over, but he's looking somewhere else to get his CDL he will have to come out of pocket, but it's a good place he thinks, he's working to save up the cash to go to this place, they help with his ELD and they take him to the DMV for the road test. It's a lot of classroom but it will work for his good, Schneider they lost someone who was really committed to doing a good job. Stay safe 🙏

She was awake when I was driving . Both of my T.E.’s were super helpful .

Hey! It’s nice to see a fellow female tanker driver at Schneider. I’m on the Ecolab account based out of Martinsburg, WV. Been here for almost 5 months. Question does it take long to get use to being up top of the tanker. I run Intermodal units and i am considering moving to tanker.......
It’s really not that bad. Schneider teaches you how to walk the tank, first on the ground (it’s a model version), and then on an actual tank. You’ll be nervous, but after training for 5 weeks, it gets better. Good luck!

What’s the pay during training?
For me, it might be different based on experience. Around $400 ish a week while we were in Houston.
