    While a bit cerebral I wanted to thank you for making me become closer to my Zeroscillator. (eurorack)! My unit does not have features that are shown in the VM version. for example - there's no "quant" selection and sadly the Bias control is a simple 3-position toggle switch (High-Med-Low) that combines with another 2-postion toggle (Range: High - Low) I've always been a bit mystified and disappointed why there's no "hard sync" ability/input. The 'vari-sync' glitchy-ness is my least favorite input .

    Actually Rolf, at around 9 minutes you are showing, the waves.. one correction, the first wave is the ‘spaced sawtooth’, a sort of spikey compressed wave, while the second one is Formants normal sawtooth.. the one with the deep bass 🤭

      Thank you, Hans! Musical instruments are a part of the culture of the societies of an era, and can´t be understood without their "social environment" I think. And when I´m playing a so called "vintage" instrument I mostly start remembering and feeling like in those days again - and the way I´m playing suddenly changes.

    I have MGranular but always take one look at the interface then close it and move on to something else. I can see its obvious potential and this was a great explanation of the basic structure. Please go into a bit more depth as there are people who appreciate the effort that you're putting in here!

      Thank you for commenting. There are always a lot of things to to choose from. Writing books about making music, producing videos(like this one), making sample libraries, producing music. I love all these things. I love what I´m doing - but it´s not my hobby, it´s my job. And therefore I choose from all the things I love those ones, which generate a least a bit of revenue. This video has generated zero revenue, nearly no website visitors, nearly no new subscribers to my newsletter, and only very few comments. Therefore: producing the next part is quite at the bottom of my to do list - as long as my butcher, the people at the bakers shop, my landlord etc. want me to pay for their goods and services. Cheers and peace! Rolf

    You need to turn the gain down on the amplifier module for the envelope generator modulator to have any effect on it, (That's why your notes are sustained from 40:00 onwards) Ideally using a different EG from the filter

    Did I really need another granular plugin? No. Did I buy this one based simply on your love affair with it? Yes. So, I hope MeldaProduction is paying attention and gives you a grain of my money. Anyway, thanks for all you tutorials and books on granular synthesis (your exploration of Crusher-X was a huge help with a very GUI-challenged tool). I look forward to your second volume on granular and your further explorations of this plugin.

    great that you also focus now, and hopefully more to come.. at MGranularMB. i mainly use it as an effect within MSoundFactory. i think i used it as an effect in some tracks, can't remember. i must admit, that when i use i always must check 5 minutes how it works... while i am quite used with working with Melda Production plugins, well have them all... but some i can deep dive without probs, sometimes i must jog my memory, which is fast, luckily. it is also the number of effects/instruments, and the endless possibilties. but i don't mind, it gets me focused. great intro!

    • @rofilmmedia2
      @rofilmmedia2 Рік тому

      Well, if it fits and does what you need, why not? There´s not always the time to move deeper into a plugin, even if it can be satisfying to spend some time with an instrument or plugin just to discover things, and without the need to translate your activity into a production.
