I've been skating almost 30 years, and just got my kids setups... Both cheap, because they'll either stick it or not, and if they do I'll sort them a new setup piece by piece like we did as kids. Cheap isn't always bad, depends on the usage at the time.

sure it sucks but look at it from a beginner standpoint. they don’t know if skating is for them so they aren’t ready to invest like $100 in a complete they are just learning to do basics: pushing, balance, and maybe like a hippie jump or something. not saying cheap boards are good, they do suck but it COULD help like i started on a $40 amazon board and then i bought a full complete from my local

Bearings are something ! You need to look for in my opinion yes Walmart wheels ain’t gonna end well but I’ve tried Walmart wheels with spitfire bearings made a difference
