Wow first real steep bit and you laid it down, think you should stick to motorways corners and hills ain’t for you
@leehunter-p9d laid it down because it stalled and was rolling backwards... it seems like paying attention ain't for you.
Cool video. Subscribed for more
@SteveM109r thanks so much for watching, subscribing and commenting. Check out the 8 nations series for some great roads.
I've done that run a few times this year, absolutely amazing run out. Thought you might have stopped at the Crosby snack shed at the far end of Birker fell, great coffee and good BLT's . Look forward to your next vid cheers :)
@Fahren67 thanks so much for watching and for commenting. Love this road although i have a rollercoaster relationship with it. We did pass the shack but it was all locked up. Please check out the rest of the channel and like subscribe and comment.
@TheUsualSuspect Already subscribed 👍 and shame it was closed, guess I won't be going there for breakfast then lol
@Fahren67 cheers! Try the Gasket at Parbold, do amazing coffee and paninis
Great video. Awesome scenery, but that road looks rough.....
@Bobs-yeruncle cheers Bob and thanks for watching and commenting. It is a great road, very steep and very rough, but worth a ride. Please susbscribe and check out some of my other videos on the channel.
I hope you have learned from this. I met several inexperienced Harley riders like you in Harz this summer. I always try to keep a safe distance.
@@fuglbird I'll try my hardest to never be as condescending as that to anyone.
lol...thats what the grey bit is for....meanwhile drifting downhill in neutral isnt in control.......did the pass a number of years ago on a 750......to go to the fort of course...thats before it became a bucket list thing to do...rather sad really
@rogerwood4846 thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Please check out the rest of the channel for many more great roads and rides.
Well done dude at least you weren’t hurt you learn a lot doing this ride first big bike also hey up me duck
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. It was a schoolboy error... went back and did it again and again and off to do it on my Road King soon. check out the 8 nations series on my channel for some amazing roads.
Cheers Suspect! That were right good 👌😎
Left it a day before commenting....don't want to seem like a stalker! 😂Another great trip, really enjoyed that. Reminded me that I haven't had an Innis & Gunn for a long while, and never had a Lagavulin whisky. Sounds wonderful and may have to order a bottle 😄😄 Looking forward to part 2. Cheers Suspect 👌👍
@paulstokes393 thanks so much for watching and commenting. Every comment and lime helps drive more content, and it's great that you like the videos. Part two coming soon...
Crackin ride this Phil brilliant video mate 👊👌
Thanks again for watching and for your kind comments Steve. Got a great Scotland video on the way too.
Cracking vid Phil
@jasonhall2245 Cheers Jason. It's a great road, and some great follow on roads. There's a min Scotland ride coming up on the channel in the next week or two. And another big tour is planned for next year.
nice video, whats your camera and mic setup.
Hi and thanks so much for watching and for commenting on the video. The camera and mic set up is two go Pro 7's a 'Smallrig' handlebar mount and a Ulanzi vlogger mount on the chin of the helmet with a small Lavalier style clip mic run in the rubber seal of the base of the helmet. I also have a go pro session I sometimes use for rear facing shots and am in the process of setting up a mount for the rear of the helmet as the rear of the bike vibrates too much for that camera. I have a kit video in amongst all the my vids that has some of the kit in it. Hope this helps. Thanks again.
A really nice ride that 😀 Might have to do that next time we visit friends in Anglesay 👍Also, enjoyed a little visit to The Gasket on our way back from the Lakes in July. Great place and thanks for the heads-up 😎
@paulstokes393 thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the video and the Gasket. Stay tuned as there is a great Scotland ride due.
We did it on vespas. 10" wheels and 7.5 bhp is all you need 😉
i did it the other direction in my car today. weather was really wet, couldn't imagine doing it on a motorbike! ua-cam.com/video/ufbqSVGqsOQ/v-deo.html
I'm 76 years old and have ridden this road on a multitude of bikes. If you can ride and look ahead it is no problem. Itis just a road!!
Tourists Tch. 😄
14 of us did that yesterday morning - the opposite way to this. Three of us went down at the turn you were looking into at 33:30. Mine was a fully dressed and fully loaded FJR and I’d stopped to help the guy in front. Not enough beans, stopped going forwards = start going over - then you are NOT going to stop it! Took three of us to right it and a lot of something to carry on up! Lots of rain and cloud didn’t help either!
@jonchilds1637 Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. It is a bit of a monster. I've been back a couple of times since and been fine, gonna have to take the new bike over it though. Check out the rest of the channel for more amazing mountain roads.
Well you overcooked that one by arriving WAYYYYYYY to early then when it was busy not a lot of footage at all. .......................
@user-zg5bb5gp6o thanks so much for watching and for your comments.
Live Band not Plural bands !!!!
Wow!
Awesome glad you didnt come off this time, Ive been up n down Wrynose and Hardknott a few times this last month its a really good run out.I normally turn left at the King George pub and head on up over Birker Fell To The Crosby snack shed for coffee and a BLT bun, there is parking, tables and a toilet lol. After that i carry on and head towards Broughton Fell. But now I want to do the 6 pass run .Thanks for sharing.
@Fahren67 thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Been over the Birker fell route too. Great ride. Check out the 8 nations series for all kinds of Alpine shenanigans.
What a turn out, some brilliant bikes on your video Phil. Nice one mate 👌👊
@stevenjohnson365 thanks so much for watching and comme ting Steve. Much appreciated.
You captured my billet silver Roadking in your video 👌 It was a fabulous day, should make it an annual event 👍
Hi Phil. Glad things look like they are going well. I'm in a similar situation, trying to work out if I need to sell one of my bikes to help with a house buy. Keep safe mate.
@adamhuxley1129 hi adam, hopenthings are going OK for you. Drop me a message on linkedin. Be good to catch up.
Cheers Suspect 😎 Nice ride 👌 I don't know the Harley range, so what's the main difference between a Fat Boy and a Road King? Liking the look of the gasket, riding past on the M6 in a week or so, will try and plan that as one of our stops. Have a great weekend 👍
Oh....and will Briskey be featuring in any vids, or have you moved too far away 😁
Hi Paul, Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. The King with its bags, comfort and better handling is more for touring and the Fatboy, although you can tour (as I have) is more of a shorter ride bike. Yeah check out the Gasket... Coffee is really good! Only moved about a mile away from where i was (long story), but unfortunately Brisky will not be joining me for any further adventures. Looking for a new maniacs to join me on the big rides.
Been there! Done the Stelvio pass with my heavy Harley Davidson. For sure a place to use your brains riding there !
Thanks so much watching and for your comments. Please check out the rest of the channel, subscribe, comment, and like. Lots more great rides coming soon.
Good to see you back on the Tube 😎
Thanks so much Paul. It's good to be back. Loads coming up.
Wow that bike of yours sound wholesome and meaningfully meaningful.. Great video and I loved very mile so it..
Thanks much for your comments and for watching. Please subscribe and check out the rest of the channel for lots more great roads
if you had gone up the great langdale valley you could of got blea tarn pass in aswell ,,, cheers ride safe 👍 😎
I'll hit that this summer, cheers for that. Thanks so much for watching and for your comments.
Gawd! The rear-pointing camera best reveals the angle and steepness of the road at 33:33
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. It's really steep! Been back and done it again without falling off. Check out the 6 passes video and the 8 nations series for more great roads.
@@TheUsualSuspect Thanks mate, keep the wheels down.
That Harley sounds just like a garden rotavator I used in the 1980's!! Hell that thing is really agricultural! Ive always heard how torquey Harley were supposed to be!
Great ride , fantastic roads and scenery on my doorstep.
Thanks so much for posting, what an epic ride.. it’s given me the kick up the rear to do this myself on my bike. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos 👍
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Please do subscribe and check out the rest of the channel, especially the 8 nations series around Europe.
....not called Hardly Ableson for nowt.
Great video , not really a Harley road though.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I'm not sure, you know. I went back and did it again, but without being a dick, and managed it fine. Along with 5 other passes. Check out the 6 passes video and the 8 nations series for the Stelvio Pass and Grossglockner.
Suspect who built those roads romans look mental cyclists and cars pain in arse lol
that looks scary in the snow were is this usual suspect ?😇
Its the stelvio pass in the Italian Alps. And there is another video at a place called Grossglockner.
Looks amazing lucky to do you get around ride safe 🏍👌
Suspect im. Glad your doing again nice videos i can not wait myself to these i will get a couple days down there
The camera flattens the road out a lot, you need first gear early on and stay in it, watch your line and take it easy, you may need to use your clutch as well and you need torque.I rode it in the mid '50s and it hasn't changed from what I remember. There is more traffic now The road was first made by the Romans in about 110AD
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Please subscribe and check out the rest of the channel.
If you ride a Harley Davidson which is just shiny American junk, you ask for trouble
Use the right motorcycle for the job nice motorcycle for motorways glad your ok ride safe
The right motorcycle?? Please watch the rest of the channel. The right motorcycle for who, for what, for when. I get lots of comments like that from people who've never had mixed experience. I have, I just made a bad choice of gear on that day.
@@TheUsualSuspect you have sport bike you have plodders then you have motor cross as I said right motorcycle for the job and y would be in the wrong gear for the hill most motorcycles do over 90 in first 🤔🤔🤔
What gear did you use when you went over the Hardknott Pass?
@@TheUsualSuspect not done yet doing this year just looking at a couple of videos first to get idea got to get motorcycle serviced etc first 🤔 will be posting I’m on tik tok
@scottdiver36 just love getting peoples opinions on how to ride that road when they haven't ridden it themselves. Looking forward to seeing you go up at a 100 in first.
Brilliant...👊
Nice ride Would you do it the other way round and on the same bike or a lighter one [in case you find wrong gear again]?
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I have done it couple more times since. Once the other way. Check out the rest of the channel. Loads of great roads across Europe on there.
Imagine being a pillion going over that , Squeaky bum time 😂
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. It is a really steep ride. Check out the 8 nations series on my channel for amazing mountain passes like the Stelvio and Grossglockner.
@@TheUsualSuspect will do 👍
I hope you enjoyed that, I know I do when ever I hike over that route each year for my tour of Ennerdale. I have done that from the age of 21 yrs old until last year age 65 carrying my 30kb back pack for my two weeks relaxation tour of Ennerdale. Tony in Essex.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I did. It was a great ride. Can't wait to do it again soon. Check out the 8 nations series on my channel for even more amazing roads.
Congratulations for even trying to ride that old pig on a tough road.
Thanks so much for watching and for comments. Old Pig???
When you take a brick to a knife fight 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I will try and be a little bit more awesome like you timmytackle9181 😂😂😂

what a lovely sounding bike

Good video of the run down Stelvio. Hope to be heading there in July so nice to get a sneak peak before getting there.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. One of the best rides of my life. Check out the Grossglockner high Alpen pass videos from the same series.
Simple reason for no traffic on the Staller Pass, an alternating one way system. Knew that as soon as I saw the traffic light at the bottom. The Panoramastrasse off the Grimsel is the same, direction depends on the time of day.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Please subscribe if you haven't already and check out and comment on my other videos.
Well done my friend for uploading it, many wouldn't have, all respect, don't be hard on yourself, as Wrynose & Hard Knott catches out hundreds of very capable riders every year going up and down both ways.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. It was a school boy error on my part. Been and done it again since (see the 6 passes video) and then took her over the Stelvio pass this summer on an 8 nation alpine ride (see 8 nations series).
