STORY TIME! MY FIRST MELTDOWN AS A CHILD / VLOG#3
This is a recalled story of my first meltdown when I was a child.
When thinking back on my childhood of memories that would help me better understand my Asperger's/Autism, this one memory is a key moment in my life and has always been regarded as a 'funny story' to tell. But in reality, it wasn't very funny at all.

WELCOME TO MY VLOG - INTRODUCTION / VLOG#1

My name is Krystin and I am a 38yr old female who recently self diagnosed as having Autism. This is an introduction into who I am and what this vlog will be about. #austism #femaleautism #vlog
Krystin, another well told part of your story. I like how you are able to describe your feelings as a child, that your meltdown was not poor behaviour but rather an anxiety attack. It is helpful to hear this information so we can better understand and recognize this when we see it in children today. Sometimes adults assume they know why a child acts in certain ways, but they are often wrong. Looking forward to your next vlog! (In Canada, behaviour has a "u" whereas in other countries it may not).😁
Krystin, this is a great first video! You are a natural storyteller and are speaking at a very good pace. I am new to your channel today, and I am eager to hear more of your story and journey!
❤️❤️
I’m so proud of you! I know how hard it must be to step out of your comfort zone and reach out but I can see also how validating it can be. I’ve always been ‘quirky’ and have to admit I’ve researched aspergers a few times;) you seem like a very genuine and sweet woman, keep posting I’ll be looking forward to the next video❤️
Thank you! That means so much!
@Queen Stacy, I like the word "quirky " as it feels like it covers a lot of behaviours but not in a negative way.
Hi, I've subscribed, saw your comment to Asa so thought I'd watch your 1st vlog, I'm intrigued as there's been a few things over the past 3 years of watching Fathering Autism that I've also thought hold on i do that, or I've been doing that since I was a kid I'm 45 and like you said Autism wasn't as heard of or talked about when we were children, I'm from the UK & can honestly say when I was at school I really never heard of Autism Looking forward to seeing your future videos, Take Care
Very nice first vlog! Next is just constructive criticism. I think you had a very strong video until you said something like: “you are probably going to say that; you look normal and you don’t have autism”. Saying something like that is like a self-fulfilling prophecy. I understand it is difficult when people don’t believe you. I get it a lot too! But don’t be the first to say it! Believe in yourself!
Thank you. I think it’s just hard for people who have known me my whole life. Especially when my own parents were thinking it. But I guess it will just have to get easier!
Awkwardly Anxious With Autism I understand completely! I was diagnosed when I was 21. Like you said, it all made sense. And I still get people who say that I come across so normal. But they don’t know what masking is, they don’t know I use so much energy just to register everything that happens. I can sent an e-mail if you want to communicate further. I don’t like having everything out in the open on internet.
Maartje totally understand. My email is my about section :)
Great video! Good luck with your channel💞
Stacy Halme thank you!
Hi Krystin, the more I have learned about Autism (a lot from Fathering Autism) I have so many of the different traits/characteristics of autism too ☮️
It amazing how many older people I have met or found on UA-cam who basically fell through the cracks because we didn’t fit the narrative of what typical Autism was back then. I never really knew how to describe myself growing up. Now it all makes sense.
