    It’s interesting that in Croatian they still use the old Slavic words for months of the year. I’m curious if the use Kruh for bread in Serbia as well as Hleb. The one unique word for Serbian /Croatian among Slavic languages is the word for “ rain”. It’s pronounced “kisha “, in other Slavic countries they use a variation of the word “ desh “

    SERBIA, genesis of that word is ENGLISH-latin word SERVANT. SERBIA-SERVIA. Land of servants. it sounds humiliating, but it is one of the theories for the genesis of the word SERBIA. Actually, serbian mentallity is oposite of that.We are people who are constantly in war with dominant forces, constantly oposite side of big emires, ocupators and colonialists. Countries around as are not, they are mostly oposite of us. We payed a huuuge price because of that. Milions and milions killed during contant wars and political instaiblity.

    • @frostflower5555
      @frostflower5555 Місяць тому

      Latin had its own word for servant and it was not that the Serbs took the name from them. Ancient Rome slaves were Slavs and Balkans and area north to them had an abundance of Slavs. This is the sad origin of the word serve.

    • @ilya-888
      @ilya-888 Місяць тому

      In old Persian, the word Sarb meant head, authority. With Arabians, Chaldeans and Hebrews, the word Srb means a freeman, hero, insubordinate. Also in Sanskrit, the word Serbh stood for one unyielding to anyone. The Latin word dates later than all of the above. A servant is not necessarily of men but importantly, of God. Also in Latin, there is servator, meaning observer, preserver.

    Here are some corrections as far as Serbian is concerned. Drevo and Nizko should be drvo and nisko. Spasiti is from Croatian and spasti is Serbian. All of the words in both Russian and Serbian are written here with capital letters but they shouldn't be because they aren't proper names.

    Ovi krstovi na crkvi Svetog Marka nisu pravoslavni ! Ja sam rođena Srpkinja,potomci su mi svi bili Srbi i većinom iz Srbije a Pravoslavnu veru sam uzela kao beba,odmah po dođenju,mama i tata su me krstili ! Ceo život,učena sam Pravoslavnoj veri... i naravno da odlično znam kako izgleda pravoslavni krst. Na Crkvi Svetog Save,stoje Pravoslavni krstovi,to nije sporno uopšte. I jedna od jako bitnih stvari,što želim da poručim, svim ljudima na svetu a posebno Srbima pravoslavcima pa i turistima širom zemlje a to je: U crkvu Pravoslavnu kada ulazite,morate imati ( žene ) marame na glavama,dugačke suknje ili haljine koji neistinu građu tela. U našu Pravoslavnu crkvu i manastire,ni turisti a ni ovi neupućeni Srbine možete ulaziti u šorcevima,kratkim haljinicamahaljinama sa dubokim izrazom,zato §to se vi nalazite u svetinju srpskojba ne na pijaci kafiću u klubu ili na ulicama! Mora bre neki red da se zna ! Druga stvarza oni koje ne znaju da znaju sad. Svrti Sava se pre monahinja i nego ßto će postati srpski patrijarh a kasnije i svetac,se zvao Rastko Nemanjić i on je bio princ Rastko Nemanjić Kraljevine Srbije ! Otac mu je naravno bio kralj a majka kraljica i ta carska dinastija je vekovima Kraljevinu Srbiju stvarala,podizali su manastire i srpske crkve pravoslavne širom Srbije a i šire ! I zbog toga je,Sveti Sava kao i cela njegova carska loza Nemanjić bitna za Srbiju toliko !
