How to Crochet the Waistcoat Stitch Tutorial
Join me in this video as I walk you through how to crochet the waistcoat stitch!
The waistcoat stitch is such a beautiful crochet stitch that gives amazing texture to your project. It’s usually used for project areas that need more density to withstand wear and tear - such as cuffs of sleeves, bag straps, or the waistband of pants.

Crochet Tutorial - How to make a “Yarn Under” Single Crochet Stitch Welcome to my newest video! Working a “yarn under” single crochet is recommended for a lot of Amigurumi crochet projects. This is because it creates a really beautiful, more tightly woven, texture - which helps keep that stuffing hidden. To put it simply, it’s just like a regular single crochet - except when you insert your hoo...

i learned how to crochet back in 07 during math class only by observation and have done yarn under exclusively the entire time that ive ever done it. i never knew that there was a yarn over and a yarn under technique until just now while showing my brother inlaw how. i also yarn under and then also yarn under to pull through both hoops to complete each stitch. ive made many many hats doing it this way and have always wondered why they were so dense and stiff. it makes so much sense now.

this video has been very helpful. with the yarn under being a bit snugger, i bet it helps cut down on the holes that sometimes come up when stuffing. definitely going to try this
