I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 19. I received surgery and intense radiation treatment to destroy the cancer cells. It was discovered that I have autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's as well. Although this has drastically changed my life, I am staying positive and decided to create a channel to help those of you who may be going through thyroid cancer or any other type of thyroid disease!
Along with this, I have transformed my life after cancer through fitness. I'm so excited to share how it has changed my life for the better.
I am very into singing and music and also upload singing covers and such!
Please comment with any questions/requests! stay strong!

Hi how are u? I am from India Love your voice
Hello I just came across your videos I have to watch them all. But I had a question. I had half my thyriod out and I just got diagnosed with follicular cancer with vascular invasion. So dr wants to take the rest out and do radio iodine. Which I am scared of doing. BUT! I’m honestly soo scared of getting fat.. did u gain a lot of weight? What did u do?
I'm surprised you were able to have a phone/camera/laptop during treatment. I was told anything I came in with would either be incinerated or would have to be properly stored for about 80 days. After that, I could come back and pick up my stuff. I chose to use the hospital gowns while my boyfriend took my clothes home. All I had were some magazines and the room TV. I had to shower every hour and drink a lot of water. I was so happy to leave at the end of 3rd day. I picked Weds to start this and got super lucky to be discharged Friday night or I could have been stuck there all weekend if the numbers didn't come down enough. I highly recommend starting radiation on a Monday. I had 2 pills to take and they were in 2 heavy lead containers. Before I was allowed to crack these lead jars open, everyone backed out of the room and stood in the doorway. After I downed the pills, the Doc took a reading of the radiation with a Geiger counter and everyone left ASAP. It kind of blew my mind that I was actually swallowing radiation that was so dangerous that nobody could be near me for longer than a minute. Nurses came in and took my vitals super fast and ran out of the room couple times a day. I felt like a freak and was extremely sad and lonely. No visitors allowed of course and this was around Sept of 2003. Half the room was covered in a clear wrap like all the faucet & shower handles, toilet seat and the floor around my bed. And I had the metal taste too for about a week.
My doctor suggest me Rai in couple of days...am really anxious about it...how much dose of rai administered to u? Please rply
Thank you for this video finnaly found someone feeling the same and about gluten intolerance it started before knowing about my throid problem, and started a gluten free diet and yes the energy levels are way better and bloating disappears now it's 20days after my thyroid was removed totally i still don t have the same problems with gluten idk may be because i m already tired and don t pay attention to my energy levels i ll keep track on that, and after the surgery i jad strong headaches that never stop any one can relate? I never felt like i can t go out from my bed and here i am 🤷♀️ i started having struggles getting up from the bed and feel exhausted but i don t take my hormones so i think it s normal at thid period.
Thank you for this dose of positivity.
More covers!!!
Love your eyeliner!! Just found out I have to have half my thyroid out in 2 weeks😖 nervouse as hell but your videos have brought be hope!! Thank you so much for being here for people like me!! You rock! ❤
Hi Marisa! you said in your video "do not be scare"... well for about 2 years i read and i read about the risks and complication of having a total Thyroidectomy. But 7 weeks ago i decide to go ahead and have my surgery done. I put all my trust and confidence on the Dr. and i never was scare of the surgery, but i never thought what i was reading about the risks and complications of having this kind of surgery could happen to me. Two hours later after the surgery we all notice that i couldn't talk, 7 weeks went by and my voice is not there I'm just whispering! my son call a ENT who specialized in speech therapy and he barely could hear me over the phone, that is when he told us that my vocal cords where paralyzed. Now i have to face a second or a third procedure if the second one doesn't work. I am living a nightmare!! Good luck to every one and please make sure you choose a Dr. with lots of experience doing Thyroidectomy.
I am so incredibly sorry and hope you can get your voice back ASAP!! please keep us updated.. I agree 100% with your advice to everyone. Please message me your address if you'd like.. I am making masks homemade that are washable due to the pandemic and would be happy to send you one!!" XOXO
You have a great voice and good control over it. ❤️
before your thyroidectomy, did you have any difficulties with swallowing? or anyone in the comments who has/has had thyroid cancer may answer my question as well. i’ve had difficulties swallowing for over 2 months now which has resulted in a 35 pound weight loss. because of the swallowing difficulties and lump in my throat feeling, they did a bunch of tests which included a thyroid ultrasound. they found a 1.6 cm nodule on my thyroid and immediately sent me off for a biopsy. i’m guessing because i’m an 18 year old female. I got in within like two weeks which is considered fast where I live. I get my biopsy results on tuesday! any feedback would be appreciated❤️
hi there ! I sure did :-( I used to choke on bread all the time.how did results come back?
marimuscles actually yeah they did. papillary thyroid cancer. I have surgery tomorrow morning bright and early. I really hope it helps... I’ve lost 45 pounds from my issues with eating.
You are awesome!@@@
It takes time to adjust the hormon levels. When I got hashimoto I was sooooo tired, I couldnt her out of bed. It took time to adjust hormones and I felt better. But still not like before. I got cancer now and surgery scheduled for next week. My doctor said I might Even feel better taking out the thyroid because it’s already inflamed.

Did you loose your voice or get a raspy voice and if so, how long, how long did it take to come back? I had a total thyroidectomy and I am a week and a half post op and my voice is still badly raspy and weak and I speak for a living. I have less then 2 weeks left out of work and am terrified I wont be able to work.
Thank you! Having surg in 2 weeks. You helped me so much.
