MOW-E Build pt. 2
The first MOW-E build video could have been better, I know, I know. So, I have tried to put a little more effort into this one.
In part 2 I show the "4-point Wobble Hitch" as well as a look inside the control box. Also, you get to see the first presentation of TRAIL-E. I hope you enjoy.
All that is followed up with some demo footage from the backyard, (it's very dry in east TN right now).
...Oh, and all the free stuff sucks so I reckoned I might as well make my own background music. Copyright Cornbread Jenkins 2024, or whatever.

Here is the first of 2 videos showing how i put this thing together. I have a lot of the same questions and I hope to cover those questions in these videos. Our first attempt at river Skurf'in! I figured, with one rope accross some class 2 rapids, and one rope to hold on to, then add in a wake board, and we'll see what happens. A few teenagers saw what we were trying to do and stopped by our campsite to give it a try. Skurf'in, bringing people together. Wonderful! After this first attempt we gained some good ideas we can apply to our next try. For ...

R/C Tractor with Trailer

Digging piers in a crawlspace is a horrible thing to have to do. It is made even worse when you need to move the dirt a long way. Hopefully, this will make it easier...we will see. Built this trailer out of scrap I had laying on my deck, not fancy but it should hold together for a little while.

Could you link the motors and gearboxes you used in your project please!! Thank you!!
DId they breed?
No, still no luck with that
@@jasonjenkins4139 Did they just hatch regularly? But no fry?
@@jasonjenkins4139 Is it because of the filter, it sucks the eggs away?
@@jasonjenkins4139 I watched someone had a tank which big enough, the eggs can actually stay in the sand and breed and fly

I'm working on a similar project and just ordered some powerful 250W motors (4x250W = 1KW) with gearboxes and RC control, capable of transporting up to 400kg. I'll be using a 51cm electric lawn mower, which is super affordable without the battery. I'll be adding my own high-capacity batteries to power the whole system. Not sure how it'll turn out yet 😜 but if it works, I'll be making it fully autonomous!
Congrats! Nice build. Like that one, cos its small and compact
Thanks!
Well this is a first
what tires and hubs are you using?
The tires and wheels are from Hathor freight, and the hub adapters are on Amazon. You can find the link in the video descriptions

Sono convenienti e abbastanza resistenti. Ho rotto per la prima volta un cambio lo scorso fine settimana ma il guasto era dovuto. Sono mesi che abuso di questa cosa. Molto divertente, ma anche pericoloso.

Awesome RC lawn mower you've built.
That’s so awesome!
Let me know when you are ready for a cut and I will bring it over. It's fun as hell. You can get pretty brave with a mower when you can stand 100 feet away, lol!
do you have any instructions for this project i would like to build a lawnmower?
You will just have to watch the videos and look for the links to the parts
Cool project. I'm wanting to build an RC mower (and plow) as well. Also, I love your "Appalachian love child" description of yourself from the About page. I subscribed and looking forward to more stuff.
I wonder what @ElectroBOOM and @greatscottlab would say about being in my description, LOL.
Brilliant suspension design, well done.
Thank you. It was mostly an accident that turned out to be a feature. I needed to stop the mower from bucking and jerking during a sharp turn so I added the shocks. Doing so kept it from jerking but it was also putting everything in a bind when the wheels were all getting good traction on flat ground. Then, when one wheel would go over a bump it would lose traction on the wheel that was lifted up off the ground. This left some sort of true suspension articulation as the only answer. I did not expect it to work as well as it has. Now, the overall traction in a straight line is much improved and the ability to slip in a turn, with control, is much better too. Very happy with how it came out.
Not sure about soldering on a battery like that, but maybe ok.
Solder here, duct tape there, a quick connect or two. My techniques are questionable at best and should not be copied by anyone. But, I've never had trouble with soldering to a battery terminal. I don't know if it's cool to do or not. I reckon I'll look it up.
Don't forget to link the hubs, hubs.
Done!
I hope those guys find this video on You Tube, since I never got their full names or contact info. I got Braden and River but no idea what the third guy's name was. In any case the interest is growing and I think we will definitely revisit this concept next spring... with a bigger board. Woohoo, Skurf'in Life!
You just gotta believe! 😂😂
A building video would be great.... Nice build
Coming soon!

Agree, I think I see how you did the back, the front is a bit of a mystery
@@reviewpops1014 I am working on the build video. Unfortunately I have suffered a hernia and I just had surgery to repair it. Keep checking back and I promise I will get the build video up over the weekend. That's a Cornbread promise to you Review Pops.
What motors are used for the wheels? Can you send a link?
Lot of versions to choose from but here is a link to start your search. www.amazon.com/40000RPM-Gearbox-Electric-Motorcycles-Engine/dp/B0CJXRVHS8/ref=asc_df_B0CJXRVHS8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693069746827&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16237040388696457610&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026062&hvtargid=pla-2244389900140&psc=1&mcid=b00ac9732d1732fcaa942db21f167e22&gad_source=1
hi brother! are you using it on a weekly basis? how is holding up? motors still working fine? any problems? or recommendations after using it for a while? thanks!
Yes, we are using it 1-2 times a week. with no part failures. we thought we broke a gear box while jumping the curb, but it's is just a a single tool on one sproket so we put it back together and we have continued to run it. I have personally flipped it 3 times and ran it full speed into just about everything in the yard. Still it keeps going. So much fun! I have added a simple and small amount of suspension to the front end which helped a lot to keep all 4 wheels on the ground and get it up the hills. knobby tires and tank tracks just tear up the grass, been there, tried that. We have another lawnmower, just like the one we used for all the testing, experimenting, and prototyping, but it has never been modified in any way. My plan is to take all the parts from the "Lawnmower v3.5" and build them into the unmodified deck, Thus creating the MOW-E!!! it's gonna be all clean and shiny, I can't wait. Expect the video for the MOW-E build to come out in September. First I have to finish editing a video about our new favorite sport "River Skurfing"!
I would definitely put some knobbier tires on it for improved traction, but overall very sweet build
I tried a few different tire options. Hard to find the middle ground between grip and tearing up your yard.
I am interested in purchasing one from you just like this one. Do you have an email?

Dive bombing part was so hilarious 😆😆😆
It is amazing how brave you can be with a push mower that you operate from a distance.
Great project. How did you mount the motors to the frame? And what electrical box are you using ?
Motor axles are mounted through the deck and motors are secured with 2 hole straps. I will have another video coming soon with details that will show this.
thanks for sharing!!! what battery are you using? how are the 4 motors connected?
I am using 2 lifepo batteries 10ah each. the 4 motors are wired up as 2 parallel circuits, 1 left and 1 right.
Where did you source the motors and tires
The motors are from amazon as are the wheel adapters. www.amazon.com/Connection-Upgrade-Transmission-External-Accessories-Replacement/dp/B0CY4QS5JL/ref=sr_1_2?crid=246GE4QMKIWQ9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-ZooHkFD4_e0znWVWK88lPVJ96-IjAxbPWuy5Qf8fEAt7C25ejcOOZK3e_MZCQnkyp8g3Jk3hfRFEg7RMQMGhTRO97mdGU7tOLTW4cPrJpl_0t1PhJ1pBoPcWLJnbh43La-FOUx6CZHOLwCndaLUhrLm8igpI7bTKErHJXlR9Pq1pUAwdCOZipKe7NszX2iGK_vP9m9uLVOdmtKIrPTeMkZUp69vDGizGhePxh4YbUsGkJDHJ2sy35Wmx3hUrDx-z_tRCj9F9IuVzlLiligmyr2ftMw_zAzH7C3FeUkut2I.5I7z3oBfpTX4clYzsyxbL9kJ3YSLqAE5Yyx2wUIZPW0&dib_tag=se&keywords=ride+on+car+wheel+adapter&qid=1721061087&sprefix=ride+on+car+wheel+adapter%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-2 The tire/wheels are from Harbor freight
Cool build! I like the red scooter wheels. It matches the body color. May I know the Cytron controller runs all 4 of the motors? Or do you have 2 Cytron's installed?
only one controller. the 2 left and 2 right motors are wired together in 2 parallel circuits. so as far as the controller knows, it is just two motors
How did you atach the wheel drive to the metal hub of the wheel or did you have a ride on car for parts to begin with and use the wheel inserts
Check out these adapters. still required some custom drilling but worked out great. www.amazon.com/Connection-Upgrade-Transmission-External-Accessories-Replacement/dp/B0CY4QS5JL/ref=sr_1_2?crid=246GE4QMKIWQ9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-ZooHkFD4_e0znWVWK88lPVJ96-IjAxbPWuy5Qf8fEAt7C25ejcOOZK3e_MZCQnkyp8g3Jk3hfRFEg7RMQMGhTRO97mdGU7tOLTW4cPrJpl_0t1PhJ1pBoPcWLJnbh43La-FOUx6CZHOLwCndaLUhrLm8igpI7bTKErHJXlR9Pq1pUAwdCOZipKe7NszX2iGK_vP9m9uLVOdmtKIrPTeMkZUp69vDGizGhePxh4YbUsGkJDHJ2sy35Wmx3hUrDx-z_tRCj9F9IuVzlLiligmyr2ftMw_zAzH7C3FeUkut2I.5I7z3oBfpTX4clYzsyxbL9kJ3YSLqAE5Yyx2wUIZPW0&dib_tag=se&keywords=ride+on+car+wheel+adapter&qid=1721061087&sprefix=ride+on+car+wheel+adapter%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-2

Awesome set up you have there! I have been trying to plan an RC mower build for quite some time now, I finally have a spare mower, a motor controller and most other parts but I am curious what you used for the motors and gearboxes? I did see some of the high torque motors on Amazon for around the price you mentioned but they don't look like the ones you have mounted there. Are the wheels chain driven from the motors?
On 2nd thought, listening to the whine of those motors... are those power wheels motors and gearboxes? I've considered chain or belt drive but never thought about using power wheels drive gears, genius.
