Why such a comment, and if so give her credit for being down to earth to spend hours sitting atop a truck, in the hot sun, entertaining the revellers dancing below, for the many hours it took to cover the parade route.

Not that I want to make light of something so serious, but she like many others probably had no idea what went down unless she watched the news. The music is super loud and so many people, even the ones right at the shooting had no idea until people started to drop down. Probably explains why the shooter escaped so easily. I was only about 50 feet away and had no idea what was happening until I saw the rush of people coming towards me in a hurry and not long after the massive police and ambulance response. Spice's truck passed about a half hour later, with a throng of dancers/followers behind it. It is just a damn shame people have to bring their turf war issues to a public place and screw up the future enjoyment of so many. For so many years, these shooting incidents have been an issue with the annual Labor Day Parade. Given the number of persons shot and the climate right now, I can imagine the organizers may be doing a lot of damage control now with the city, and the proverbial bucket may have finally gone to the well one last time, and the bottom drop out.
