Dude, the "beanie hipster" transformation in Bonk's Revenge is actually a criminal with a prisoner look who can crack the doors open which lead into banks, butcheries and jails. Another one looks like an elf who can jump much higher. The vampire one (or Venom) seems to bite the enemies when you jump into them and his head bump to the ground is stronger. That's what I found out in my 1st run when I played it today for the 1st time ever. The mummy is not a real transformation I guess. Bonk is becoming this look when you're losing in this fight stages where you're going to when picking up a flower.

12 year old me would have loved this. And the Plug and Play MK1 is even more accurate than this with comparable tech to the Genesis. They could have EASILY expanded the memory and made it sooo much closer to the arcade. But this is really excellent.

I've always wondered what happened to the original samples? Why did they have to redo them for the Genesis version?

The Action Gamemaster would've been an overpriced battery hog of a handheld console, and the adapters for playing NES, SNES and Genesis cartridges would've had many bugs & glitches in them.

The stories in the newest games 9-11 are great. I'd suggest watching them on UA-cam. All you really have to know going into 9 is that the ending to the series before ended with an Armageddon type scenario (in fact it was called Armageddon). Only instead of your custom character winning the bad guy won. There are a number of other callbacks and such but 9 was a reboot and a sequel. MK11 and it's DLC in particular were great to me. Though I also just loved that they brought the MK 90s movie actor for Shang Tsung back to play him in the DLC. But yeah you can totally enjoy the story without playing, and WB knew that so they gave UA-camrs access to the cutscenes to put out in high quality on release day as a "movie" for 11. -sidenote gameplay wise I can't speak as much to 10 and 11 but 9 is actually just a great game when it comes to the story mode imo. At least once it clicks. And the Shao Khan boss fight was just an experience when you beat it lol That said 11 does have Rambo, spawn, and Robocop so that has to count for something 😂

Mortal Kombat 1 will probably be a reboot and a sequel the same way that Mortal Kombat (9) was especially given the endings of MK11

The M2 hardware got licenced by Konami and 5 arcade games were released for it, even though the home console version of the M2 never made it to market. Video Game Esoterica has some great videos on the M2. If you are interested, you should check them out. He even covers the unreleased stuff and has compiled some tech demos and played them on real hardware!
