Fetal Monitoring (aka Fetal Well-Being Testing) Explained By A High Risk Pregnancy Doctor
Thank you❤ is it also possible that an ectopic pregnancy test be negative?
It means that most places you dine at are sketchy at best 🍀 🎲 🎲
I just found out today my mom drank when all through her pregnancy with me.. I'm 33. It all makes sense now. Lowest score in every class.
Great video!! ❤
Is this safe for everyone ? I took this to try to prevent miscarriage while I was pregnant and noticed that my blood was super runny when they drew my blood. Also I miscarried anyways . I wish people would not just blindly say it’s ok for everyone to take this
Is the age based risk same for someone with low AMH?
An AMH level doesn't change the general quoted age based risk.
Dang. I wish I knew his story when I worked for him. I’m happy he’s sharing his childhood and how he became the GOAT he is.
I’ve worked for Christopher and Paola in the past. They were both so patient with me when I was a young adult. To this day, I respect them both. I miss Christoper’s food. I STILL try to replicate his soups and also his salads with meat. He’s a GOAT.
The roasted red pepper soup is so good!!!
Who is the 10 percent who are not in pain? Which sonograpers are they?
Can I travel 2 hours flight 8 weeks pregnancy?
Could make a 4 year course to make ppl a qualified electrician, and then get them working on non electrical cables that don't plug in to power ever
Nicely explained!
If have a subchorionic hematoma at 5 weeks 3 days will taking baby aspirin make it worse On it due to past few miscarriages only started taking it this past Monday so 4 days
It's a great idea to check with your provider about any symptoms you may have and ask about the size of the hematoma.
❤❤❤
🇬🇧 My son was born in the UK in 1990 and during my pregnancy I was told not to consume alcohol at all because of the health risks for the baby so why was the US so far behind the UK?
That's a great question!
What is the right amount of alcohol when pregnant?
During pregnancy it is recommended to avoid alcohol.
Fighting against alcohol and drinking while pregnant. But she still calls a baby a fetus. It's not a fetus it's a human life
well no for if it’s not considered human life it can still be affected by carcinogens. It’s still organic matter that will become a human life later on in the piece. She’s just saying alcohol can affect this developmental process. Please get preachy takes out of here
I wonder if they’re allowed to use stools, to stand on
Probably not for safety reasons the only thing they can do is raise the bed to their shoulder height if they scan standing
Baby reflux, colic and eczema are on the rise. Is there any vitamin or anything to do prenatal to minimize these issues in the baby?
Do benefits outweigh the risks for women who have no risk factors other than first pregnancy?
So I should be good I did more then 20 I think
Hi, my girlfriend was just diagnosed with mild preeclampsia today... 152/90 BP, headaches and protein in her urine.. She's 34 at 18w2d pregnant.. Can she take aspirin? She doesn't have any allergies or past medical history?
Aspirin is recommended to help decrease someone's risk of developing preeclampsia (not as a treatment once preeclampsia is diagnosed). So, for people who are diagnosed with preeclampsia, they would be a candidate to take aspirin in a future pregnancy.
This happened to me this morning at my 20 week scan, and I've been a mess ever since! She was measuring at 4.2
I'm so glad you were able to watch the video to learn more about it! Print out this handout www.drlexihill.com/utd if you didn't already so that you have information and questions to ask along the way.
Is a large EIF that is a large as the heart a possible tumor? Could that be wrong? Is that necessarily chromosomal abnormality if a DNA blood test prior showed no problems?
Great questions! An EIF looks different on ultrasound than a cardiac "tumor", or something like what we call a rhabdomyoma. When there is a clear ISOLATED EIF, and the screening blood test called cell free DNA (sometimes called Non Invasive Prenatal Testing, abbreviated NIPT) results as low risk, then an EIF is reported as a normal variant. Hope that helped to answer some questions! Including a link to download a helpful handout with more information and questions to ask an OB provider about an isolated EIF. www.drlexihill.com/EIF
@@drlexihill Thank you. So a possible tumor is not an eif?
@@mothersson2002 This is a great link about cardiac 'tumors' that may be helpful: my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22499-cardiac-rhabdomyoma Also, here is more on what a typical EIF looks like and some case examples: radiopaedia.org/articles/echogenic-intracardiac-focus?lang=us An EIF is typically less than 3-4mm in size. I hope this helps!
Love this ❤
He looks so stupid. Well is stupid
You are such a wealth of information I’m so glad the universe brought me to you!!
Why are they in pain??? Is it moving the ultrasound sound cart all day?
They have to not only push the machine around but they have to use their arm, wrist, and hand on top of the patient and put their body in uncomfortable positions to get the ultrasound image.
Very interesting interview and discussion. Thank you. 😊
Fantastic guest, I agree. 😊 I learnt a lot. Thanks.
She is such a great sonographer and is so knowledgeable!
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Nice video Greetongs from india
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this information
Absolutely!
Thank u for the information
So welcome!
Theres no such thing as a product that "blocks" the sun. Physical and chemical sunscreens work the same way, by absorbing and dispersing UV rays.
Would have been nice to have some brands...
For a pregnancy safe MINERAL SUNSCREEN, look for those containing just these two ingredients Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide: Here are some examples! Hope this helps. - GLOWBIOTICS Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30 for face and neck - use coupon code DRLEXI20 for 20% off any products, link through my homepage www.drlexihill.com/ - CLINIQUE pep-start SPF 50 for face and neck - CeraVe Sunscreen InVisibleZinc SPF 50 for face and neck - LA ROCHE-POSAY Anthelios Sunscreen SPF 50 for body and face - CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF50 for body - Cetaphil Sun SPF50 Sheer Mineral Sunscreen for body More information can be found in the full video linked in the description...and a new video is upcoming on instagram. Here's to a safe sunscreen summer!
Can you sleep in compression stockings if you swell during the night?
The "pregnancy swelling" of the feet, that we call pedal edema, is often at the end of the day after standing for long periods of time. When anyone has swelling it is always recommended that they talk to their OB provider to have it evaluated. As a general statement, compression stockings can be worn at night...and it's important to be sure that the fit is appropriate (generally 20mmHg for tightness of a compression stocking is a good rule of thumb).
It’s summer and the heat is starting to make me crazy! After listening to the podcast I bought the sunscreen because all of my sunscreen has all the things yall warned about in this ep. Plus I HAVE to wear sunscreen because my mom and sister both developed spots on their face during their pregnancy from the sun. I can’t remember the name. But anyways, this Florida girl who’s like 7 months pregnant thanks yall for pointing me in the right direction. The coupon code from your website worked perfect for me! Thank you!
I'm so glad this was helpful! Stay safe in that Florida heat!
This video is so helpful! Thank you very much!
I'm so glad! And you are so welcome!!
Can I travel 15 hours flight in 36 weeks of pregnancy??
Did you do it? How’d it go?
I couldn’t have seen this at a better time. I had NIPT at 12 weeks, low risk. Yesterday anatomy scan reveal Right EIF (isolated). My MFM was so not bothered by it, and I could tell he didn’t really even want to have to bring it up. But I’ve been spiraling since. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You're so welcome!! :)
I love how this is a doctor interviewing this girl about this topic We need more doctors like the one she’s describing and Dr. Lexi!
Thank you! We have all been patients and had to advocate for ourselves!
Rich privilege. Damn.
I never had this experience EVER. I had to cry and beg for months on end for my doctor to accept that I wasn’t drug seeking& I felt like my body was giving up every month. After seeing enough seasons of house I just assumed him saying “Doctors assume all patients are liars” is why doctors acted this way.
We recently had to find a new GP as our previous one retired. He is a young guy starting a new practice alongside a more experienced doc. His initial intake interview was incredible. He booked a half hour per person but my wife and I asked to go together so we could aid with remembering details (we are both quite open with each other about medical stuff). He spoke with us for probably 80 minutes, asking us everything from our work, recreation/hobbies (to assess physical connection primarily) to our goals for our health. I didn’t know it could be like that… He seems like a real genuine and knowledgeable guy and we are so glad to have him as our new doc.
It's so great when providers spend time with their patients and really get to know them.
I can look at your neck and know you have a thyroid issue.
You get what you pay for in American healthcare. Full stop. And I wouldnt expect most personalized practitioners to accept Insurance
The insurance roadblocks are huge! You're right, a lot are cash pay. Often times you can ask cash pay providers to supply you with a 'super bill' or some sort of documentation with the level of the visit (inclusive of ICD-10 codes and CPT codes...stuff the insurance company would need)...then you can submit that to your insurance and see if they will give you a full or partial reimbursement.
Ok what's his contact info please?
I hope you have very very, very, very good insurance
Or they don’t accept insurance
Where do you get this level of personalisation and what does it cost? This sounds amazing.
It seems it can often take a lot of self-advocacy to get to the provider that's the right fit. For the cost, that can also be frustrating as the right doctor may or may not be on certain insurance plans. It's a great idea to ask for the cash rate when you see a provider - sometimes that can be a better deal in the long run.
Thanks
