Hicks is great at night, just watch out for the wildlife. Always see deer, owls and other large birds (buzzards?) on the trail.

Hi Lucy great to see my local trails on here, i heard you saying about riding around in the dark ( its fantastic by the way ) the cafe stops open later on a Thursday at certain times of the season just check with them before you go.. happy cycling next time may see you up there... 😀

Nice ride very well done, I've rode the length of the BVW hundreds of times, there is several tracks off the Brampton Valley way which are worth riding

Yeah, enjoyed that. I knew those places from the 1960s on both a Coventry Eagle with a three speed Stumey Archer and horses. Didn't realise how much places have changed even in the countryside particularly Wistow.

Riding at night is great because while you are less visible to cars there are less cars on the road and as long as you're lit properly, the riding is safer and provides a different perspective to riding during the day.
