How should I feel about a Kia forte koup with 150,000-180,000 kms. Is it too much? How many kms should I look for
Any updates?
great video, i manage to destroy 3 of my friends
The ten years I owned my 2010 Lancer I didn't have a single repair. Nothing went wrong with it. Strictly regular maintenance and a couple sets of tires. Most reliable car I ever owned. I agree about the styling. I had the Sportback, which I feel is better looking than the sedan. I got compliments about its looks even after it was 9 or 10 years old. It still looked better than many new cars and most people thought it was fairly new just from it's looks.
I had a 2010 Sportback GTS, also in Rally Red. My paint held up really well. I lived in California when I owned it (from 2011 to 2021) and I kept it in a garage when I was not away from home. After 10 years the paint looked as good as the day I bought it new. I had three gripes - I'm tall and the steering wheel doesn't telescope so when I had the seat pushed back to get all the legroom I could my arms were almost stretched straight out. Second was the road noise. It was pretty bad - there was really not insulation. Third was the ride. I had the 18" wheels and it was pretty rough. As far as power went I was quite happy with it. I had the 2.4 engine and it had plenty of power to merge onto a freeway.
Hey man , I have an 08 g35s and same thing I’m dealing with now. I really don’t want to get rid of her but I also don’t know how severe the damage is as I still haven’t taken the front end apart. Wish me luck on this journey. Hopefully it’ll all go smooth
All the best! It took me a while but i was committed to the project. I'm sorry to hear that you're in a similar situation and I hope you get the opportunity to rebuild her back to perfect.
Thanks so much Man! This is super helpful.
Hey man how did you get to fix the hood gap. I seen your pervious video with you getting your new bumper and i have a very similar hood gap on my salvaged title g37.
May be a super late response I apologize. I believe it shows the solution in the video that my car blew up in the trailer. I had to cut the springs to make the gap sit a little lower. It's still there but much less noticeable.
i wonder if california has the same (can't shift in a intersection) rule, i'm gonna have to find out. my jeep hits limiter at 5200 rpm so guess i'll be banging that shit
where my uploads…
Just failed BC road test with manual because of shifting in a intersection.. I'm so pissed it's stupid, my first gear is so jumpy, no way it's safer than hitting 2nd
It's the noise. 9 times out of 10 when somebody hates car enthusiasts and their cars, it's because their vehicles are obnoxiously loud. There's people in a neighborhood or an apartment complex somewhere who have to hear that noise every day.
I agree the seats are not the best and yeah i have to lean to sit on the arm rest as well! I drive a gts and it definitely has more power than the se or es but im 5'2 and i struggle with the armrest
So they care if you skip gears? 1-3 for example after an intersection
My 2010 Lancer with 4B10 110K miles I put throttle controller and it feels fast 0-60 in around 9.3
Looking at buying one of these as a first car. Any things to look out for?
Where did you get the front skirt from ?
It was factory, it came along with the SXR package.
I wish you did a walk-around of the exterior of the vehicle. Your friend talked about the look of the R spec's spolier with the lip but you didn't show it in the video. Just noting this for you. But otherwise I like the video 👍🏼.
6 ... soundproofing dosent exist ... i sold that shit after 3 months of using...
Thank you so much! Needed this
Just passed my G test today in my WRX. I got super lucky because when I asked about shifting through intersections and while going around bends he said he doesn’t care because he drives standard as well lol. Your video still prepared me regardless so thanks man!
Take it off
Yeah that's the plan this year, the more I've looked at it the less I liked it.
How did u get it to 300km? Just bought a '14 lancer sportback at 160k and would love to take it to the 300km! Got the 2.slow cvt model
Honestly I piced it up at 280,000kms with next to no issues XD. I think these cars are bulletproof though, just make sure you do your maintenance. Even now I've had next to no issues with the car. But I do agree, they're so slow....
@@marcushowell How much km can u get out of a full tank? I feel like my fuel consumption's bad.. I recently changed air intake filter.
Depends on a couple things like if I have my tools in the trunk and if I'm driving mainly on the highway. Right now I'm doing hours of highway driving every day so I'm getting about 500-550kms. But typically i do all in town driving and get about 400kms.
Is this the 2.0 Volkswagen diesel?
Close, 2.0 Mitsubishi Lancer :)
two things why didnt you drive the car? or have the owner drive it while talking about the car like other car review channels? why does this thing get such shitty gas miliage?
Honestly wasn't experienced enough making this video, I didn't even think about driving it. We defiently should have though... I think the gas mileage comes down to the owners heavy foot!
DEFINITELY probably his heavy foot 😅 . I average 26 miles per gallon driving it mostly economically on city and highway roads. But if I drive it mostly on highways and am very conscious of gas consumption with how I drive and driving behind other cars and make sure all of my parts are good on my car (i.e. engine air filter, oil, spark plugs, etc.) and PSI on the tires, weight, aerodynamics, etc., I can get 42 miles per gallon according to the on-board computer on my Kia.
😂😂if i make left with in first gear at 6k rpm there is 90% chances of my mustang will be totaled
Yeah that's why I was so surprised to hear about that rule. No rear wheel cars can safely make a turn like that. So I'm curious what the alternative is, shift to second before crossing the line?
@@marcushowell haha i passed my G , after watching i gave on my friend auto mustang
Did the bumper come with mesh fog lights? Cuz I don’t have fog lights and I want the same bumper where’d you get it from?😊
Yeah the fog lights had the mesh on them when I got it but the grille comes empty. I got mine from Andy auto parts online, but I know there are a couple retailers that sell it. Forewarning mine took months to arrive. 👍
Because they are weird and stupid
THe head rest drop pn Mercedes and BMW and Volvo for visibility! Secondly I have one and it takes Regular gas!
Yeah I learned after I made the video that it was for visibility. Guess I should've put 2 and 2 together 🤣
I’d rather be shot by someone who is angry about something than hit by someone who doesn’t give a fuck while texting and driving.
Oh you and me both, one can be completely avoided by just following the law!
Haha well I guess both could be... But you get me 😅🤣
The complaints he had are minor but overall it's a great car. I was 60 when I bought mine and just turned 65. It is a 2008, very clean Athens Blue with auto and factory GPS. The screen as he points out is outdated and I will have to say the GPS function is slow to respond. Don't know why they made the follow line in yellow as it's hard to see in the day. No issues with using my phone GPS, but prefer using the installed one. Also with this older car and technology, you have to go to Infiniti to upgrade your GPS for 200.00 and the upgrade only goes to 2015. I bought a Bluetooth after market that plugs into the port in the console. Works great. With technology the way it's going, looking to upgrade to an installed Garmin GPS that will integrate with my home screen. For an old geezer like me, I love the look, style and speed this 15 year old car gives. Hoping to hang on to it for years to follow.
I hate cars mainly because I find driving boring and hate doing it. However the thing I hate more is car dependency in cities. The way cities are designed in the country I live are so predominantly for cars with massive roads, huge parking lots bigger than the stores they serve, and such massive underfunding of public transport that everyone HAS to drive to get places. And considering how much cars cost forcing people to drive just to work and feed themself is just wrong on so many levels. Also cad infastructure is so outrageously expensive too it costs so much to taxpayers. Look up any American city followed by “high way expansion” and you could probably find a project of widening a highway costing tens of BILLIONS of dollars meanwhile that same city public transit probably doesn’t run anymore than one bus per hour becuase there’s no funds for it Now if you want to be a “car guy” then I have nothing wrong with that. I make robots as a hobby so we both like machines just different kinds. But if you are gonna be a car guy don’t insist on being able to drive your car into a city and expect abundant parking everywhere to park your metal box hogging up all the public space and especially don’t drive it into a city to infest it with noise and air pollution and make it dangerous for the people who live there.
Just don't lug the engine and youll be fine. You can definitely accelerate in your top gear if your already at speed.
Also lol at people who roll back and forth because they think they're cool cuz they drive a manual.
Buy a BMW. My car hold the brakes for a.second while you get going if your in a hill. Would definitely give a newb bad habits but I've driven a manual for over a decade so it's just a cool feature for me.
Yeah I feel like if you know what your doing you're allowed to get these quality of life features! What year BMW do you have?
@@marcushowell 2011 328i
Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like that techology was ahead of its time.
@@marcushowell it's a nifty little trick. It has a few cool tricks up it's sleeve.
Thank you for sharing. I struggle with the clutch part, wanting my car to last an long time, and money or lack thereof. Speaking of which I hope your uncle has finally been rescued from off that island 😃.
Lmaooo hopefully soon! I feel you though, my Lancer's clutch is about to go and I'm dreading the day...

Don't tempt me 😏
recently picked up my new '22 mustang, was nerve wracking at first but after 2 days I love it
Oh that's awesome! What package did you get?
@@marcushowell base coupe since I'm 23 and insurance was crazy for a 5.0. MSRP was 29 snagged it for 23 since it was a manual. Added euro taillights and mbrp race exhaust, now I can't stop flooring it 😅
I have a 2008 jeep liberty sport and it stick want this damage your Rev thus much
I didn't even know a jeep liberty came with a sport package, that's awesome! I don't think there's anyway to damage your Revs, excessive revving can damage your engine but it would take some time.
You shouldn't be taking your hands off the steering wheel, you plonker.
Informative and entertaining! Good job Marcus
Thank you so much!
Let's GO 💪🤘🔥🤗
Thanks man!!! 🔥🔥
Yooo definitely one of my favourite videos recently!! The skateboard check caught me off guard 😂 the work was super satisfying too, awesome to see someone doing all this properly 💪
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate the support! Slowly trying to get better each video 🙏
On a hill, use the handbreak (e break for americans) This video shows why in the UK we have separate test for manual and auto.
Yeah, I didn't know the UK had a manual test but it's honestly a really good idea.
or get good and you wont need the e brake
@@takeofujisawa9678 depends on the hill and the weight of the vehicle. I drive trucks for a living.
@@jim-bob-outdoors yea ik, if its a really steep hill ill try it. but usually i only roll back a couple inches.
You can still get into gear with the E on?
I’m lucky because I learn things pretty quick it took me 1 day to learn how to drive it and 3 days to never stall
That's awesome! Took me 2 or 3 days to start driving properly. I learned on a Mazda 3 that was falling apart 😂
broom broom broom broom stustustustustustu
Brapbrapbrapbrapbrap
What about when your in reverse? Don't you kind of have to ride the clutch an bit? Also don't you have to ride the clutch an little to get 1st up to speed? Also I think you have an Subaru like me, I'm down shifting when it starts to go below 2,000rpm and up shift at 3,000rpm while happily maintaining 2,500 when ever possible. Please let me know if you agree with my assessment. I really want my car to last an long time Thanks. 🏹🤠👍
Yeah, in reverse it's normal to ride your clutch since you have to limit your speed. In 1st gear you shouldn't have to ride your clutch unless you're in something like stop and go traffic where you have to keep inching forward. I have a Mitsubishi Lancer but yeah that's about the right RPM for "normal" driving. Just make sure you keep your maintenance up and your car should last. 👍
@@marcushowell Thanks for the reply and feed back. I am really loving this Subaru. My previous vehicle was an 2010 Dodge ( very basic) Dakota,....it had an fob for the door. This Impreza (as old as some of this tech is) is like an spaceship to me. Currently shows 28.1 mpg. 🏹🤠👍
Manual Transmission are Terrific there Fun to Drive👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘
Oh yeah, it makes any commute just that much better!
I've seen eight people explain how to drive a manual properly and gets halirious every single time I watch one them. You know what I will gather all this video and post them all at once and see who is right n wrong
That actually sounds like a great idea, could be fun!
Bruh, accelerating in a high gear isn't gonna wear the transmission any faster. Sure, lugging the engine can damage it, but the transmission isn't gonna get damaged by the torque your car puts down at 2k rpm
