Pla+ is probably the best bet for a strong print. I use overture and sun brand filaments with both my flash forge and creality printers

I have the first version of the Ender 3. It was frustrating till a few upgrades made it flawless. A glass printing bed, and auto bed leveling probe make this thing effortless. Buy highly rated filaments and keep them stored in a humidity free area. Use PLA+ for general use, PETG for strength and weather resistance. Oh and spray some hairspray on the bed as it warms up if you find your prints unsticking.

I do a lot of printing with the two I have and i use still finder online to get most of my files. There is a lot of both free and paid Stl sites out there.
