The first live footage that I saw of the Meteors was whatever you didn't get, I think I was about 15 at the time. This band were the start of a musical breakout for me, enabling me to open my eyes and ears to pretty much everything that was the Alternative scene back then. Great band, great times, glad I came across this.

I used to go to The Klub Foot at the old Clarendon Hotel in Hammersmith in the early eighties. I looked pretty out of place as an office worker, but at a time when Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet were riding high in the charts, the Meteors totally blew me away. Paul played blistering guitar licks and the atmosphere was always fantastic, with never any agro. Sadly, they tore the place down and built a friggin' shopping centre at the end of that decade, but the memories live on. The best of the psychobilly bands by a million miles.

This was the best line up , there still going but they dont sound like this .
I've seen them a few times at all dayer punk gigs . Definitely worth seeing live 👌

@ lee2217 .... Enginesize 11.6 liter and 383HP , there was also a Economic variant with same enginesize, but less HP.
Almost true.........Indeed the 3600 Ati came up with 2 engine types: The 1160 DKZ was 373hp and 1405nm of torque..........The DKZ(E)conomic was a 307hp downtuned version of it.... The 2800 Ati had 288hp and 1175nm, with the 1160DKV engine, But infact the 3300 Ati had 2 engine types too..........The original DKX with 354hp and 1300nm, and the DKX(E)conomic 288hp with 1285nm........and that was exactly the same number of ''hp'' as the 2800 DKV.... But despite the same number of ''hp'' the DKXE engine produced a lot more torque....... (110nm more..) That DKXE engine was never known as the second engine option for the DAF 3300 Ati, but DAF decided to add it to the 2800 program as a Ultra economic powerful engine type......with only a small ''15nm'' difference in torque with his ''big brother'' the 3300... Later the first 95 serie started with that same 1160 DK engine type, but with a lot of technical innovations/updates. This new serie of engines was called the ''WS''.......they started with the 306hp/1262nm WS225 , a stronger WS259 with 352hp/1414nm and as flagship they came up with a 383hp WS282 engine with a max torque of 1526nm I quess that last one was the engine you had in mind ;).....
Good choice of music and even the movie version of Convoy:) Its great when original stuff like this is put up from a time before all the digital tech we have today. But to see one of these beasts in proper running operation rather than just a cleaned up show piece is brilliant.
i traveled all over the uk with my dad in both a 2500 and a 2800 38 tonners and i learned a lot of road manners sadly my dad and hero as now past at age 61 due to the big c i now have the 2800 tattooed on me upper arm as a tribute.love these trucks

Happy memories - I had a few big DAF's. Nice spacious cab, always on top of the job. Early 70's these were way better than F88's and in my opinion, F10's.. This one looks a little tatty! Under dam is smashed, paint looks like it needs a freshen up too.

Nice video, I had a 1:25 scale model of a 3600 Space Cab as a kid but could never find much information about it.
