I want one, but can I afford one? You are not ending this video and not saying how much you are asking. Say it ain't so!
Could you please create a video for the LT25 Groundhog unit. Thank you.
What's the cost
$775 plus tax and shipping
Buyer beware: my KH14G Pro is a lemon; 25 hrs on meter when delivered, gas cap broke when tried to refuel, could not operate machine until new cap shipped to me. Oil drain plug seized in machine. Grease fitting on cylinder are had no grease in it. Operated only 1 hour, received new cap, refueled machine and tried to drive it. Now won't turn left or right, only straight forward and backward. Asked Groundhog to pick up this machine and refund my money. Groundhog advised they will not refund the $250 Gardner discount on purchase price because they already paid Mr. Gardner his commission.
Apologies that this has been the experience. We would like to make this right.
Are the valves adjustable? Is there a screw or knob that I can turn, tight or loosen? My blade slams up or down and almost impossible to feather no matter how slowly I move the lever/pedal.
They are adjustable with an allen wrench on the valve body and and controls
Show the inside!
What is the track size?
180x72x36
🥴🤦♂️
I have a new Leite HT1012 mini excavator with 3.5 hours of run time. The passenger side track just started making a metal-on-metal sounding squeal in the forward direction only. I can't figure where it is coming from. Any ideas?
Check the sprocket and track assembly for any debris or rubbing
Could a guy make this into a pipe or cable ripper, like you rip and bury line at same time
You most likely can, I've not seen any setup like that yet.
I don’t like how the hydraulic line are mounted on the side walls, easy to get hung up on something, kinda dangerous with that much psi
I just bought this unit yesterday at the Tennessee dealer. Skip is a great guy and a pleasure to do business with. Can you tell me what the third hydro line is on the right drive motor? The smaller units only have two.
It's a pressure relief
I hope the barn lives on for a few more generations.
You warranty the Kubota engine for 1 year. The Kubota website says " Kubota warranties its industrial engines for 2 years or 2,000 hours, whichever occurs first; major engine components are warrantied for 3 years or 3000 hours. Again, whichever occurs first." Do we get that warranty through Kubota?
You would be able to take advantage of the Kubota warranty as well
Where are u located
Middleburg, PA
Can you get a real skidsteer that can match with a typical midsized unit?
We are working on it, we're just ready to offer any yet.
I have the ZH24D-2 and I am having difficulty keeping my rubber tracks on. I am only able to finger-tighten the lock-nut on the tensioner screw because I can not reach it with a wrench inside the deep opening. The lock-nut on the tensioner screw is not in the view of the access window so putting a wrench to it is not possible. Also, what is the exact width of the tensioner screw-head?
The screw head can be adjusted using a 1 1/2" extended socket wrench.
@@groundhogequipment Not the tensioner screw head, I can access that. I am speaking about the Lock-nut/Jam-nut. It is not accessible through the small access panel on my ZH24D-2. The accessibility inside the panel might be different on different mini-ex's. I can post a picture of it, if that will help.
Can you email us a picture looking into the access window? groundhogequipment@outlook.com
@@groundhogequipment Done! BTW, I believe the tensioner screw head is a 1-7/16"
@@groundhogequipment It's almost like I have the wrong side panels for my tracks because the access window does not line up with the Tensioner like all the others
Walmart, Harbor Freight, Target, Home Depot and many others use overseas manufacturing and rebranding. We need the dealers to be supportive and the equipment to be reliable.
That's where we come in with assembly, customer service, and dealerships all within the US.
Ground hog excavator $15900.AGT QH13R fully enclosed and insulated from environment cabin $6900, but real price is around $4000. Weight: Groundhog operating weight with rubber tracks 2200 lbs. AGT QH13R operating weight 2120lbs. Now let's compare attachment prices. Got it?
I believe the Groundhog ZH12G with enclosed cab at $8,000 would more comparable to the OH13R. What attachments would you like to see a comparison?
Decals are why I buy machines!
wouldn't recommend judging any book by it's cover
@@groundhogequipment I am looking for a 4.5-to-5.5-ton excavator and a trailer to tow it with. New or used with less than 2500 hours on it. I do take pride in the appearance of my equipment, but decals are not my focus. A big machine digs more dirt in less time. I want to do work around 2 of my residential properties. One project is a nuclear war fallout/ bomb shelter, so secrecy is a primary concern. Does Ground Hog have anything in this size. I am thinking I will put about 500 hours on the machine and then put it up for sale when I am done. I wonder what the price drop might be on a Chinese excavator with that many hours.
Can you break rock with these, as well as concrete?
Yes, they function well on concrete and rock.
What size is the jam nut
1 1/8 or 30mm
Trash talk much. They are both chinese. If ypu really need more then go spend alot more and get quality
Can i buy hydraulic cooler from you for mine?
I would want one with a three cylinder diesel engine,
Is there any way that you could explain the difference between expandable and retractable tracks. I’m a little confused and can’t find any of your videos that explain the difference. Other than that, I’m learning so much about the build quality of your excavators. I enjoyed the accessory videos . . . They definitely help with “must haves”. Thanks Nick for your great work. -Stan-
The retractable tracks will start slightly wider than the cab and retract inward, while the expandable start slightly wider than the cab and extend an additional 3" on each side
Does the engine have trouble overheating with long continuous work sessions, maybe 4+ hours non stop
These have additional fans, heat shroud, and the exhaust routed differently to allow heat to flow more freely
Are you guys hogging all them from the auctions then flipping them for 4x your money? Or buying direct from china on alibaba? I tried the mfg direct route and cant seem to get them for less then i can at local auctions 😢
We work with a couple manufacturers to develop more dependable machine
Always a cut above in both service as well as quality!! I have not done the research to see if Groundhog is actually the old Groundhog company that my grandfather and father has loved but it sure seems so. Other than what looks to be the digging claws bolted on the wrong side of the bucket (I have seen them both ways) these are what I would think of when I hear Groundhog. Super cool. I have had several other mini excavators however none have ever made me impressed like these. I know I will be looking at the intermediate size for a long term investment on the next buy. Thank you for sharing all this great information on the equipment and your part in this process.
Put your blade down so you are tipping forward.
Mind making a video on how to mount/attach it on up close and step by step?
Whats the closest dealer to Central Illinois?

Why not just use bucket and hydraulic thumb
I also just use bucket and thumb mostly but I also do a lot of ripping out small trees roots and all. I do desire the tilting smooth bucket before I would get the log grapple. So I guess I need to call and get the quick hydraulic connection as it was not an option 2 yrs ago when I got mine.
I had one never used it. All ways been able to pickup with bucket and thum. Going to try rack and thum
How fast is the 2-Speed unit?
<5MPH
@@groundhogequipment Is upgrading to the 2-speed difficult after my purchase?
Mine had problems right out of the gate still does. Got a full battery but sometimes it dies and won't roll over, wait about half hour it starts. It has 10 hrs on it.
I have this model about 2 years old now. The boom is heavy for the model. It will tilt the machine easily. And the controls are ridiculous sensitive. I've been trying to get mine to be smoother but... It is easy to work on. It is sturdy. As long as the price stays what it is, it's a good machine for the money
These are much smoother units. An improvement on past years of Pro models, This is the first year for the ZH14G Pro
Fantastic review. I could see the quality just by looking at the website. These videos have only supported my gut instincts. I intend to make contact after I do a bit more research into the model which will best suit my needs. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear!
I really can''t see what on Earth you are doing and why start halfway through installing the gauge?!!!! Such a shame as otherwise your video would be perfect.
It's not pilot control? Electric over hydraulic?
The pilot control setup is +$1,000
@@groundhogequipment that's cool but that wasn't what I was asking.
Hopefully you get some excavators in stock soon! I want to come out and check out and compare a couple different models.
I'll sell u my zh20d ... lol
Come on by! There's a lot here to test drive!
@groundhogequipment I've emailed Tasha earlier in the week and she informed me that only zh12g are in stock. I was wanting to test and buy since it's 4 hr trip one way for me.
Does the grease type track tensioner on these work good? I've read commenters say they leak out and lose tension.
The grease track tensioners generally work well and are easy to use. Very few of our customers have reported issues with leaks and loss of tension over time. Regular inspection and maintenance are key to preventing these issues. Ensuring the seals and fittings are in good condition can help maintain proper tension and avoid leaks. Despite these potential drawbacks, many operators find the grease system more convenient and less labor-intensive compared to threaded tensioners.
@@groundhogequipment Thank you for the thorough response.
How do you replace the seal though? I have .5 hours and the tracks are coming off and grease is gushing out of the seal.
one year old, crank no start I didnt have any tools with me so can you let me know im guessing carb is plugged, what is the plug used and thanks
What a useless attachment
Honesty, integrity and attention to detail. That is exactly what I get from your videos. I couldn’t be happier that I stumbled onto your channel when trying to do my homework for the purchase of my first mini excavator. At this point I going back and forth between one of the 14 series or 20. As you said in previous videos, everyone wants the Kubota engine and I must admit I’m not an exception. There are other options/goodies that you offer too that I just may have to have like expandable tracks, etc,. Please keep producing content. As I get closer, I will contact your office and get the ball rolling. Just a side note . . . This is probably not the place to ask, but I do it so possible others may be looking as I am and it may spark conversation on your channel. Have you though of ever offering mini excavator trailers to add to the purchase of an excavator? I know there are registration, tagging, etc., that you probably wouldn’t want to get into, but at this point I would feel confident that you made sure they were the best to fit my needs. You would do your spin on them. I have my eye on nice setup and would love your thoughts. Thank you . . . Stan D
