I had just turned 10 6 days before the lives of so many were changed in 01. I remember so much so vividly, that it doesn't feel like it's been almost 24 years ago now. If I could ever talk to that scared kid now, and tell them about all the ups and downs to come, I doubt they'd believe me. But at least, we'll always have the memories of a better time.

Look to the future with bright eyes. The 2020's can be just as amazing as the 2000's, If we let them be. Let's make the next five years amazing.

I listen to this mix when I come home late and lie on my bed, in the darkness and the silence, and I reminisce. I remember all the bad, the alcohol, the drugs, the violence, the heartbreak, the trauma, but it also makes me remember all the good, my childhood friends, hanging out after school, having fun, the first girl I liked, my first girlfriend, sitting together on a hill above the city watching the sun go down, late night drives, walking in the rain. Takes me back to both the worst and the best days of my life

I wish I was a bit older in the early 2000's. I was born in '96 so I remember most of it but didn't get to experience it very much. I look back at old videos in high schools and whatnot and wish I could've experienced it. No social media addictions, everyone's not glued to their phone, people seemed to live much more in the moment. I hate social media and cell phone culture. People are so fake with everything.

I was born in 1984 but had the chance to be rise with 80s media thanks to live near a video store which owners were cinephiles that loved to recommend movies and shows, also had my own television set in my bedroom along with satellite TV (which helped me to learn English). My town did also had a comic book and specialized in SF and fantasy literature book store and I could read excellent stories thanks to magazines like Cimoc or Zone 84 plus Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, Arthir C. Clark, Ursula K. LeGuin, Philip K. Dick, and Roger Zelasny. Video games were graphic adventures, JRPGs or RPGs, and then RTS. Got introduced into D&D and tabletop RPGs with 13 and played at least one Saturday per month. I coukdn't wait the grow up so I'd become a writter to tell stories as amazing as the ones I grew up with, but the world broke and reality became harsher. Gone were the optimism and bon hommie of the people,that do now force me to reminiscent those years as if they were a dream I do fear to forget forever. Sometimes, when despair sinks me into a deep, deep hole in the ground, I do fantasize on traveling through time so I could save the life of people like Bellusi or John Candy.

Born in 1980 and lived through some of the most memorable time of my life. Looking back now. I really miss the the good ole days where people are just people. Minus the craziness (and the many new genders) we have today.

I was born in ‘85 so I didn’t really “grow up” in the eighties, unfortunately. Just lived 0-5 😂 However, I’m very attracted to the eighties, and I have a lot of nostalgia from the end of them through the nineties. Being a teen in the eighties would have been a dream. Damn.
