I am 20yo underground mechanic with no formal training and The MT42 from working on them in an underground application they are too weak. Compared to a Tamrock 40D built in 1995 and powerd with 60seres Detroit and a frame built to hit the walls, while the steel will not crack is impressive. The MT42 frame structure needs to be improved if it has not been already, alongside the frame the DPF filter bracket needs strengthened and the number of modules and electrical complexity is too much for a mine truck. I hope too see new technology from Epiroc but I would like to see a strength improvement along general electrical simplification.
