Counteract those two things, and you’re nearly guaranteed to never hit a shot like that again. Can go outside of the ball on the backswing if the ground on the inside is high. Redirect clubhead on the downswing to the inside so can hit the ball square. Keep the top hand low and bottom hand fingers flared out to balance the club. Open the stance for a wide arc. 5 wood is best as it can slide.

    It all depends on the firmness of the sand. Firm sand vs. Soft sand - two very different techniques.

    • @kevinprentice3113
      @kevinprentice3113 5 днів тому

      ****No, it does not depend on the firmness of the sand. Does not matter whether the student is on the Tee, the fairway or the bunker ----->>> unless you're a tour level player.....Do Not use your Hands/Wrists to change the position of a clubface on the backswing...Period!

    • @davidsutton6616
      @davidsutton6616 5 днів тому

      So, super hard sand - use the bounce? Seriously?

    • @kevinprentice3113
      @kevinprentice3113 5 днів тому

      My comments were directed towards not using your hands and wrists to manipulate the club face (nor the face angle) during the swing action. Regarding your firm sand question.... That depends on a few factors such as how skilled are you? Are you a scratch player or are you a 20 handicapper? When you say firm sand are you talking...the surface of the sand is firm, but underneath it it's not so firm. Or are you talking you're playing the local Muni where the bunkers are washed out and it's now just dirt and mud, basically. Giving you an answer to that question would be doing you a disservice. What you need to do is get into a bunker (like that) and start hitting shots to discover what's works for you or not. For a general answer..... the firmer the sand the less bounce is needed.

    It looks like you r roughly 30 feet. From this distance your dispersion is going to be roughly 25 percent short 75 percent long. If you are having your students hit all their putts past, their dispersion pattern will be worse, leading to more 3 putts. A putt from this distance that is a foot short is way better than a 4 footer beyond the hole. Yes?

    • @garygonzogg
      @garygonzogg Місяць тому

      I don't know many golfers that are ever happy leaving a putt short...

    • @DavidECollinsGolf

      @ You’re 32 feet from the hole, would you rather be 4 feet past or a foot short?

    • @garygonzogg
      @garygonzogg Місяць тому

      @@DavidECollinsGolf If I'm leaving them short more often there's no chance it goes in... so yeah you'd think being closer means a better putt... but it probably means higher scores over time.
