Pachena Bay (Vancouver Island, BC)
Took the drone on a flight near Bamfield, British Columbia. January often proves difficult for lighting, and this was once again the case. Anyhow, this location is a great summer camping spot, with great ocean views, and lots of sand. Enjoy the flight in the dismal Jan conditions.

Chasing Sockeye Salmon in Port Alberni (Vancouver Island 2023)

In this episode we trolled for Sockeye Salmon in the Alberni canal. The fish were caught in the Cous Creek area at a depth of 65 feet. Get a nice look at the candied sockeye we made, which we are enjoying as we type this. Also enjoy the views of the Alberni Canal as well, home to one of the most well known salmon runs on Vancouver Island. Until next time...

Went camping for a couple nights up in the Nahmint Valley and decided to make a short video. The lake is near is about 40 mins away from Port Alberni, British Columbia. A quick look at our recent campout up at Oshinow lake, located in the Strathcona National Park, in British Columbia. About a 1 hour drive up the logging road (we went via dirtbike) from Port Alberni. Great fishing, and great views- wish I had packed the drone. Anyways, thanks for watching :)

Went camping for a night a while back. This area is along the Taylor River in British Columbia, Canada. Some nice views, and an easily accessible spot for most people. It got quite cold overnight, and probably was a bit early in the year for camping. Still had a great time. Anyways, enjoy the video which gives a quick look at our trip. Shot on GoPro 5 and Fujifilm XT200.

Went on another gold panning session here on Vancouver Island. There's no claims where we were located. Numerous people pan in this area. We did find some gold, not a ton, but watch the video to see. Overall, a fun couple of hours out in nature here in British Columbia.

Alpine Lake Camping in the Rain [Canada]

Went for an overnight camp at St. Mary's Lake in British Columbia Canada. Lots of rain and wind. Fortunately was able to get a fire going under the tarp. Tried some fishing, but caught nothing. Unfortunately too wet out for the drone so filmed using the iPhone SE and GoPro 5. Overall, a nice cozy (and rainy) alpine camping trip here in canada. Enjoy :)

Went for a recent overnight hike up Mount Arrowsmith, located in Port Alberni, BC. Took the saddle route. Nice views, but didn't reach the actual summit, as it looked like it required climbing gear. We spent a night down at Jewel Lake. Gorgeous little lake, with a nice waterfall on the far end. It's nestled right under the surrounding mountains. Went on a motocamping adventure for one night in the wilderness of vancouver island, BC. The location in the video is called King Solomon Basin. Great views, and an awesome waterfall. Went for a one night camping trip the other day and brought along the drone/GoPro. Pretty nice spot, but way too many bugs, and we forgot bug spray. Located up the logging roads near Port Alberni BC on Vancouver Island. Did a bit of fishing, and lucked out with a big trout. 4x4 defintely required. Drone shots taken with Mavic Pro. Lots of other great camping on Vancouver Island. More coming soo...

Some drone and GoPro footage from a recent camping trip along the Nahmint River/Lake. The camping location is about an hour away from Port Alberni, up a rough logging road. The drive is well worth it though. Spotted a waterfall on the other side of the lake and flew by it. We did have some bad weather, but only for a few hours. All footage shot in 2.7K. what was the date that you guys were fishing. I'm just wondering because I might go fish July 14/15 but idk how the fishing is that late in July?
@@SolayS578 This was early July, which is usually when fishing is the hottest but Sockeye should still be around in catchable numbers around mid July. I’ve caught them as late as early August but later season isn’t as much of a guarantee and can be more of a grind. As long as you’re willing to put the time in I’m sure you will have some success. We caught a two person limit around late July last year. Good luck!

you are hooking up your flashers backwards
Thanks for watching! Maybe it doesn’t show up on video but the flashers are hooked up properly, with the wider end connecting to the hoochy and the narrow end connected to the mainline.

The fish was about 4-5lbs which is pretty average for sockeye.

My favourite place on the Island. How was the gate access…. Did you have to go in Saturday and leave Sunday? Or did you stay across the week?
Hey sorry for the late reply. I believe we had to leave Sunday. Gate statuses are on the Mosaic website, and because of wildfire risk, they are closed for the foreseeable future :(

Hey, thanks for watching. Unfortunately the logging road to access this spot is gated and the gate is usually locked.
I know where that is, i have seen that rock before :) right next to the tree...
Use a pan with a much bigger bottom and smaller sides. Excellent production from one pan. Nobody is doing gold prospecting tours in Vancouver Island. Now that tourism is allowed again in BC you need to jump on this business opportunity.
