Welcome. Siofra's Magic Alcove is a place to find the down home magic you are looking for, by a witch who has been practicing since the mid 1960's and wants to share some of what she has learned. The practices given here will be mostly pagan, but we reserve the right to go into all sorts of practices. Shamanism, Indian Tantric teachings and various magical and spiritual practices are on the table, potentially including Enochian and ceremonial magic also. The Alcove is the home of Siofra Bradigan, and she is doing most of the videos. Her partner, Ian Coyote, is now offering his unique perspective on magic as well.

ive also noticed that i seem to remember past lives as they relate to my life now. and perhaps when i work through certain things i stop feeling as connected to that past life.
also the topic of divination is always fascinating
if you feel like talking more about past lives always would love to hear. i once had a dream that was of the quality of no other dream i've had before, but in fact, it felt like i was really there in real-time living my life. it took place in what looked like a village fortress a couple hundred years ago in china and in that moment i was being told i was being tried as a witch. because the dream felt like it was happening in this moment (even though it was in the "past") i wondered if that lifetime was happening concurrently with this one. would love to hear if you have thoughts on how we live multiple lifetimes simultaneously, and perhaps how they influence one another.

You said that when you were trying to do a pentagram in drawing in the elements you couldn't use your water wand, I was wondering with your moon wand your lunar wand what did you find that you could do with that one I'm wondering like obviously you couldn't do solar work, but I'm just wondering like do you think that lunar ends up going more towards water because of the willow, can you for example create a circle with your lunar wand?
All of my planetary wands can be used to draw the various elemental pentagrams in order to call in the elements and describe a circle so the watery nature of the lunar or venusian wand doesn't have the same resistance to the fire element as my purely water elemental wand does. And both my water and my lunar wand are from willow.
I haven't listened to everything that you put out but do you have some examples of your energy dancing? I recall taking belly dancing for a while and definitely felt something connection wise I'm not a dancer either but I'm curious how you make it a more energy practice. Would love to see a video on that! Suuuuper coooool!
The aura dancing I do extends the colors and shapes of my aura outward and around me in shapes and designs that can affect how other people feel. I'll see if I can do a demonstration. I started doing that kind of dancing before I became a belly dancer or a ballroom dancer (which I also did).

I do feel that belly dancing has something extremely magical grounding and also connecting to things outside of the norm at the same time, I look forward to seeing how you incorporate that. I have a dancer friend who does a lot of magic sigils and spells in a choreography and it's beautiful, it puts a 3d effect on the Spells maybe something even further than the third dimension. Anyway looking forward to hearing you share more about this

I hope I'm not blasting your email and you don't have to answer all these questions...but my brain has been wizzing with questions. I loved your Crystal videos and I like the idea of a book that you put all the meanings together of the particular ones, I was wondering do you do the same for wood and for trees? Do you have any sources you would recommend in researching the properties and history of the trees? I have found some sources on the internet that are okay and some tend to overlap meanings and some do not, just like with the crystals. But I think kind of like what you mentioned in one of your videos about aquamarine being assigned to not water but air, I'm curious if they're doing the same thing to the trees. Any input on this would be amazing. I really do appreciate your approach to your videos. This topic too about gifts in childhood, and them being scary....glad you are talking about this.❤
I've collected information for trees and for plants as well from as many sources as I could find and then thought about whether or not it "felt" right. When I created some dream pillows I did lots of research on flowers and herbs and mythology, folklore, etc. from different cultures. If you're wanting to do research that's what you have to do. Delve into the stories different cultures tell about either the tree, the plant or the stone that you are researching. I found that if most of the cultures have the same core in the story about the whatever it is then it's likely to be an accurate representation of an essential truth about it. So there is no single source.

I really appreciated this video and actually all of your videos that I've seen so far, I've been been binge-watching them because it's really interesting to hear it from your perspective I have a lot of questions that I just normally generally have, and I was wondering if you have some exercises that work on the different layers of one's body and be able to jump awareness between them. I do body scanning with the physical body, but I wondering how one could start doing that for the other levels
I'm thinking it would be a good idea for me to do a video on this question. Since I'm getting back in the swing of things this is a timely question.
Thank You, was all so interesting. I have a little dark chunky guardian creature that lives under my house in Australia. At one stage I wasn’t living here much and my place was getting some vandalism. Think they were some older kids, they even made a bed for them selves under the house and would smoke. It was a frightening time for me and obviously for the guardian creature. One time I came back and he was gripping onto me tight telling me and showing me his anger and fear at what was happening. I turned on the main ceiling light in the study and it exploded, glass flying everywhere. Since I have been back permanently for some years now everything has calmed down completely, I respect and am mindful of his presence and his home too.
Poor guardian!! Glad you're back and things are more under control!

Maybe they actually don't have the answers and are trying to play it cool so no one figures out they haven't figured everything out as yet! Or maybe they're just worried about giving out the wrong information and aren't sure if it's safe to tell you. Or maybe they swore a magical oath. Or maybe it's an ego thing. Could be a lot of reasons. But glad that you have found the channel. I've always believed that information is better to have than to keep and that those who aren't "ready" won't really understand what I'm talking about (there's plenty of people that think I'm just crazy!) so I think of it as an open secret. I also think that experience teaches us things that just reading about will never do and that is certainly true for me and many of my own insights into magic and how it works. And thank you!
How many people participated in this healing and how did it go? Have you done this since then?
There were about 20 or so I think. It's been awhile. It was extremely exhausting for me personally and we had some definite effects from people in the group at the time of the live event. For some reason the idea of spending some distinct time on each individual request (focused attention can do wonders) was hard to maintain for some people, but overall I think it went well. Haven't planned another one because of the amount of energy it took but have been thinking about it lately, so who knows?

I actually have another question, I went to go clean a house and I am new to this and I didn't realize this person was possessed with like a lot of entities including the Faye I was able to help a little bit but I realized they we're actually attached and had a contract, and they had to get rid of some of their own personal stuff that they were attached to in order to get all of it out anyways outside of their house it was super calm and I knew from some of the spirits that were walking in and out of her house that it was some sort of like area almost felt like a Crossroads between the death and then like almost like a hedge for fairies. This area was destroyed somewhat from Human housing and building and such, and I did about 8 hours of work at her house and I did get some of it done but she was going to have to do some of the work on herself to and the outside though was extremely thin and I associate that with like a place of spirits and I'm wondering if a place where spirits walk to to go to the other side like a holy or sacred land for Native Americans for their dead can be similar to a power line, because I didn't feel a pressure I just felt the are Getting Thinner and then I felt pressure going into her house because she had so much going on energetically. I did feel my Spirit guides getting stronger, normally they just talked to me through my heart space but they actually were saying words for the first time so I did feel that stronger aspect. Do you think that a lot of this Native American like burial places, even though they may be desecrated due to human construction, do you think play can be powerful spots also I feel pretty bad for the land, and I do feel a sacredness to part of it still, I do feel like it would be happier without the construction, of which I have no control, any suggestions to honor the land even though it's not happy?
There are some definite possibilities. Places where a significant death event took place will create a thinness (like if there was a massacre or some type of natural disaster that killed a lot of people all at once). I don't think that a native graveyard would necessarily be a thin place since in general the natives I have known do not like ghosts of the dead and are very specific about how they bury their loved ones to make sure no ghosts are going to be happening because of it (not that it would always work...we have the ghost of a native woman down the street from me that I've seen from time to time where there used to be a native burial area). I've never heard of the fae possessing a human so am thinking that might be a misinterpretation of what you are getting. I have found that I always have accurate impressions/feelings but my ability to interpret it correctly can be compromised by my own thoughts, beliefs, expectations, etc. so I try to be careful not to come to a hard and fast conclusion unless it's just so in my face there is no room for doubt. Someone could have opened a portal to the other side, either on purpose, accidentally, or through a violent and unresolved death, that would fit the information. Also a natural medium without training and control will always attract a crowd of spirits of all types because our ability puts out a light that is easily visible from the other side and many spirits are attracted to that light (not just the dead). I have rehabilitated the relationship between the land guardian and the humans who inhabit the land by talking from the heart about the past trauma that the land experienced and offering some kind of token to represent that. In one case I offered some apache tears to a local guardian and apparently that made a lasting impression because it has warned me a few times of potential dangers I might not have been aware of otherwise. And yes, the person at the center of the activity definitely has some work to do on themselves especially if they are weak-willed, don't have strong spiritual and energetic boundaries and are inviting the activity.
Your Intuition is spot on. They were attuned, opened up, had spiritual work done, without any spiritual practice setup for protection, and they are extremely empathic...and they live on that thin place. They were going through a very dark time mentally, physically, emotionally, and were turning to spiritual to get fixed, but they were not giving up the things they needed to internally work on. Their home was opened up and I think you are right it must have been a portal. It...was a lot. As you mentioned in one of your videos, people have to be ready to be healed and there was only so much I could do it's really interesting, I learned a lot from that because whatever place she was on, it definitely had a powering up of whatever internally what was going on, so I really related to what your story was with the power spots when you said that I'm inspired now to find power spots near me then meditate in them❤😊 Thanks for your feedback.
Can you talk about all the different energy spots, and salmon particular in the United states, and if you were to rank them in like the most powerful to the least powerful, why would you rank them in a certain way and how do the energies feel, and how do they feel over time if you've been there more than once...basically a lot of questions. But it wasn't heavy it just felt lighter and more still, as if things just felt like time was slightly distorted and slightly slower
Not sure how to answer this question. The video is about a power spot that I have been to several times and each time we go the energy has needed to be cleared because of its tendency to accumulate the thoughts and emotions of those who stay there. It is a powerful node I guess. If you think of the idea of ley lines as the circulation of energy around the planets (similar to acupuncture channels) and the nodes (or power spots) are the larger points of energy often where more than one line enters (like the acupuncture points) that would be close to explaining what I have experienced. I've come to recognize when I am approaching one by how it affects my body (legs get heavy and it's difficult to move like the air has turned into molasses). I don't think that the supposed "maps" of ley lines and power spots are necessarily accurate although definitely some of the spots are correct (as far as the main nodes are concerned) but the energy that runs between them is more akin to a stream that adapts to the terrain rather than a straight line that people want to make them into. And just like there are smaller blood vessels in the body there are also smaller rivulets of energy between, around and through the main lines, bringing energy to all parts of the planet (so like your capillaries that keep your hands and feet warm, etc.).

You know what's funny is that I've had a wand call Mom my very first one and I connected to a willow tree in a property from like 20 years ago and I didn't know what to do with it but I'm glad that I knew intuitively that I needed to oil it. It's still looks the same as I had it 20 years ago from when I treated it, and I've never really thought about how to use it since I was newer to the practice and then I did other things, since watching your videos, I tried meditating with it, and I charged into the full moon and then I tried it this morning and it I had it between my hands and I felt it different between my left hand and my right hand, and then I made shapes I drew shapes on my other hand while holding it and it felt like that is so interesting! I can tell it definitely is like Moonlight on water. And as soon as I held it I remembered sometimes when it was a full moon the willow trees would be lit up and it looked really magical almost bluish all of them. So this is definitely a lunar wand with some water element. I'm not sure if I want to add stones to it or not because I feel like there's something to be said about the tree itself, and I realize I need to meditate with the tri energy itself as well instead of just using it as a tool like you said, are there any ways you recommend asking the tree spirit what kind of stones are ones or if it wants to stay the same way or ask it it's preferences to be respectful to the tree? Sorry for the longness!!😅
When connecting to a tree spirit you need to make your mind still and quiet and try to listen for the other "voice" that isn't yours. I show the stones in my mind to the tree and wait for a response. I once had this really lovely blue colored quartz crystal that I wanted to put on my water wand and no matter how hard I tried it just would stay. Then it dawned on me that although the crystal was a wonderful blue color it was sprayed and heated gold and its energy was clearly solar and not in the least bit watery! While holding the wood that is to be the wand try holding different stones in your hand and see how it affects the energy and go with what increases its presence and power.
@@siofrasmagicalcove7293 that is really interesting, it's so interesting to learn from different perspectives and then finding similar things sometimes but not necessarily knowing why and then other people having similar experiences and then finding out play possible reason to it call I know there's not always a reason but there's interesting patterns and overlaps that happen. Do you have any videos on working with Energies specifically? I have been trying to figure out how to work with space and time as an energy source and working with the void or sore switch I find is one in the same and it's hard when you get into a meditative State connecting to something that is everything because sometimes, I can zone out and then come to and then I feel like no time has passed or a lot of time has passed and I don't remember any of the lessons or connections that I made or the experience. Any ideas on this would be great
We have a series on the elements (akasha being one of them). It is difficult to work with and accumulate the energy and what you are experiencing is pretty much the essence of the element you are trying to work with so keep it up. At some point you should be able to bring back some information from there and be aware of yourself within it for longer periods of "time".
Do you have any wands that you didn't embellish, and you just left as the wood after you may be used oil and sanded it
My first wand, which was my only wand for many years until the madrone tree put that idea in my head about it being the perfect wood to make a solar wand. Up until that point it never occurred to me that wands could be so specific and versatile. My first wand was from a cedar tree that I had become close friends with. I was being forced to move away and there was a plan in the works to cut down the trees. I sat under that tree every day to meditate. I felt like I was leaving a dear friend and asked the tree if I could take a piece of it with me and the tree agreed. When I cut the piece of wood on the agreed upon day the tree placed a part of its spirit into the wood and that informed all of my working with wands later (though it was many years before I made other wands). I brought that wood home with me, peeled the bark, sang to it, oiled it and treasured it.

It's interesting because some of the things that you do, or like a few of the missing pieces that I needed in my practice so I highly highly appreciate your feedback and your videos. I've been trying to work with energies but it's been tricky since the one that calls me the most is space and time in the void for everything comes from instead of deities. That was extremely helpful I appreciate it
How important is the type of wood like for example if you are making a solar wand, could you use a Willow Wood? Even though it is associated with water and the Moon
To me it is very important to use the right kind of wood. Forcing solar energy through a water conduit seems counter-intuitive considering the forces would be attempting to cancel each other out. Water, as an element, is cold, constricting, contracting and trying to collapse down into a single point whereas fire, as an element, is hot, expanding and trying to expand outward to the ends of the universe. It is only the presence of air that prevents them from succeeding. Personally I think it just wouldn't work or it would be highly ineffective. I made a water elemental wand, tried to cast a circle with it. It was fine with bringing in air but when I tried to call in fire it was like "excuse me...what?...ah, no, are you crazy?" and then I realized that I created something with such specific energy it could only be used for one thing.
When you say you are an universalist, what does that mean to you?
Being a universalist means that I can work with multiple pantheons of gods and goddesses without conflict either in myself or between the deities I chose to work with. I remember a lot of my past lives with multiple cultures...Egyptian and Greek being two of them that are top of mind, as it were...and have been greeted by and embraced by others...like celtic and hindu. I see the commonalities between the various systems and their gods and goddesses rather than the differences.
@@siofrasmagicalcove7293 I think I agree with you but it's always been tricky for me to see deities as personified I feel them as energy more so kind of like you're talking about using the elemental energy, not fire itself but the energy of fire, I see that with mantras, deities and such, I'm still trying to figure out how to work with those energies better. It's almost as if this is a lifelong practice or something LOL
How did you add the stones? Wire?
On my solar wand I only used glue and a dremel tool to make indentations for some of the stones to sit in and give them more surface area for the glue to work. My other wands I use wire and sometimes beads because of that lovely little hole you can put a wire through! Keeps things pretty solidly attached. Generally I use copper wire of different colors since copper is such a good conductor of energy and malleable enough to bend easily.
I’m glad you stood up to those women and I also like that you highlighted how when people don’t deal with their traumas and hangups, how out of balance they can get. I feel even more incentive to stay solitary for now. I’m solitary because I was in a charismatic cult with predatory men and women and I don’t like people telling me what to do after a life time of being bossed around and abused by people I finally have some teeth. The cult would make people have spiritual parents and really infantalize them. So now I’m like “ I’m grown don’t tell me 💩 if I don’t trust you” But I do wish I could have the tutelage of a seasoned witch but I have yet to find anyone locally and maybe that’s for the best right now so I can actually try stuff and develop confidence. I do have my counselor who I can reality check with. so far I havnt gotten weird and I think it’s because I really try to critically think and listen to a variety of opinions on the matter and figure out what’s the most solid point. I also try to look at things naturally and logically too so I don’t get delusional. I found a paranormal support group last year that helped somewhat and I really like the leader but she doesn’t have good boundaries with the people in the group because she’s overwhelmed with her life at the moment. And one of the members seems to have some sociopathic traits and another seems borderline. I got so stressed last week because a member threaten to unalive herself. I don’t feel comfortable doing anything with them because the ethics ( occasionally talking about cursing someone’s ex ) is not solid and now that I know that witchcraft and energy is real. I don’t want to go down a negative path. They are not terrible I just think I need to follow my gut! I don’t feel safe or at ease there which is a big clue I shouldn’t be in there. I see the potential but it seems more of a support group and less like a coven and I’m feeling so much better these days so I’m ready to get started on magic. I just pray to the akasha elders and the goddess Durga to keep me safe spiritually until I’m stronger I’m grounding several times a day and just trying to get a stronger root chakra I follow a few different channels but I’m a fan of sensible time tested practices So like your material, I’m taking notes 😂and the stuff does work. your live stream is a good way to hash things out and learn how to take good advice but also maintain my opinions about some things I am not looking for a guru and I’m thankful I finally got out of that mindset last year and realize I had power in me all along! And I’m glad that you truly empower and inspire people to work out their own relationship with the universe or God and not feel like any human has all the answers or ride on the coattails of anyone else’s power Just the fact that the universe knows I’m here is so validating I mean how many people can say they were chased by a swarm of UFOs and fairies 🧚 😂❤ so my life must count for something 😌
Being a solitary is definitely a way to strengthen yourself and the group you are describing does not sound like a healthy group. Following your instincts is so incredibly important else how can you develop your own relationship with both yourself and the universe? I was glad that I stood tall when the women in that group became so toxic and that I was able to speak my truth without i. nsult or manipulation or even anger. It was a watershed moment in my development I think. The universe is always testing to see who we are and what we want and what we are willing to do and I definitely defined myself during that time! I'm glad that I succeed in empowering others to find and follow their own path since that is a goal of mine!! Stepping into your power is a wonderful and often humbling time. Blessed be!
Thank you for your wise words. I’ve been enjoying listening to you recently. I have had many challenges recently. I lost my only child last year and this year have been robbed with my bank card being used fraudently and my account hacked in to. As a result of the recent theft and the way my bank and the Police are handling the situation I feel that there are strong obstructive energies at work here. I have put protection around myself and my property as I had done before all this happened. I am trying to “ go with the flow” of all this but it is very difficult

I've seen a tiny shadow looking human form running right in front of me one early morning as I was watching the sun rise. The being ran under my chair and I thought what the heck was that and of course my logical brain dismissed it as nothing. I'm starting to think it must of been a Fae. This was maybe 6 months ago. Hard to know! Could be either, but hey, you saw!! I think in general they are surprised when anyone sees them though as it is atypical for humans.
What do you mean by the lower three chakras working properly
Root chakra is survival/self. When it is operating incorrectly it encourages selfish behavior and the belief that everything is about the Self and only the Self matters. When it is operating correctly it helps to maintain the health of the body by communicating needs to the mind. The second chakra is centered around the procreation center which, when not operating correctly, will lead to sexual perversions or asceticism (for example). When operating correctly it provides vital energy for the creation of new things (either life or creation of art and inspired thought). The naval chakra (which is often called the solar plexus which is actually a minor chakra and not the main one) when operating incorrectly will bring about pointless rage and anger, projecting the inner landscape on everyone around them. When operating correctly it supplies energy/vitality to the body and the ability to identify things that are "wrong" in the world and need to be addressed along with the energy to take action. That's just a basic interpretation. The lower three chakras are in charge of the physical body and are important for our survival.

Yeah people need to have some respect for someone else’s experience. The audacity to tell you what you did or didn’t experience when they weren’t there! when I told people I saw UFOs and fairie orbs and etheric beings people thought I was crazy because I got scared and had to go to the hospital 😢it was traumatic because I was scared enough to check myself in but I knew I wasn’t crazy. Well when I produced videos a few weeks later of the UFOs and fairy orbs and brought people over to see them physically then people got afraid of me 😂 And I’m like “no I need support, this is life altering and you ding bats that were making it like I was crazy now all of a sudden that you know it’s a thing want to get away from me!” I feel bad for people back in the day who didn’t have a digital camera. The gaslighting and invalidation was traumatic it’s hard enough on the mind to accept it that these things are real and the amount of stress produced while I had to deal with invalidation was terrible. Just because something is rare doesn’t make it not true. The whole reason I started my channel was to document and reality test what I was seeing. And now when I tell friends I’m experiencing visions inside my mind too they know I’m not just schizo because they see the videos so obviously I’m experiencing something.
