School Rumble was definitely 80% about Harima. Damn... I remember watching it in high school in the 2000s. It's been more than a decade, since. Anime and manga have evolved *a lot* since.

I can definitely see the inspiration there, and the story line of Heathcliff being close to kirito then betraying him is similar. But these themes weren't invented by Kentaro Miura. Its mostly a style thing. Any SAO fans should watch the berserk anime at least and would like it.
