How I Cut Very Short Bangs on a SHAG Haircut. Wolf Cut. Short Fringe. How I Cut Lived In Texture.
In this video I show how I cut very short textured bangs on a shag haircut. This could also work for a “wolf cut”. I Wonder if these techniques can even work on a short fringe on a butterfly cut!! Really the sky is the limit with your creativity on this one! Just grab a doll head and have fun!
This cut was done dry over a previous style and yet it still came out so cute!! At first I was going to try to cut the fringe to a side part but that ended up not working out at all!! So I wet the fringe back down and once I restyled I knew a center or slightly off center cut I knew would work out so much better!

Question: does a shag cut have to have thin wispy ends? The only thing stopping me from trying this style is I like thick filler ends, but I never see shags with them. Do you think it’s possible?
Totally! I think the greatest thing about cuts like these is you can customize them however you want to. So you can definitely keep the ends fuller and keep the shagginess through the crown!

Is IBE the healthiest for your natural hair? Does securing weft top of beads and another below beads help secure the natural hair more than other methods?
Hi! There are so many GREAT methods, IBE included (although this is not IBE). I really think the health of the hair depends on the stylist taking the time to learn, practice and keep clean sections with no tension on the scalp. Putting a weft underneath won’t make it more secure, but it hides the beads so you have a more seamless finished look. I’m here if you have any other questions!

I have been trying to grow out my wedge cut hairstyle for a couple of years & I get tired of the thickness so I end up recutting it. I have cut my own hair since the lock down. Can you show how to cut a short shag to the shoulders as I have thick hair & a shag would take out the bulk & direct me into a new style❤

I’ve heard over time the hair starts to smell? How to keep it from smelling other than drying the hair after showering?
When you shampoo the wefts you want to gently cleanse right at the base of the weft and massage it between your fingers to break up any buildup. I’ve never had a client return with the wefts smelling. Drying it is important because if the wet wefts sit too long they can get a musty smell.
This curl demo is way longer than others. Hard to follow. Need notes but I’ll try it

What were the products you used in the first style?
Hi! I started with Clean Beauty Anti Frizz Leave In Conditioner, then I applied Paul Mitchell Flexible Style Sculpting Foam, and the paste I used at the end was Mitch Matterial Finishing Clay.

Cut my bangs too short and would love to incorporate this look ! What kind of scissors/shears are you using for this cut?
I’ll check back on the video to see which shears I used! In the salon I typically use 5.5 hikaris. Sometimes at home I use some vintage shears that belonged to my husband’s grandmother 🤣 (because they are fun!)
I have fine hair and I really want this haircut, is that possible?
I have seen a lot of people do it with fine hair! You may have to use some styling products to make it look the way you want it to. Also it’s helpful if you have a bit of texture/wave to your hair. Another option is to get a row or two of extensions installed! I’ve had a couple clients do that with great success!

Thank you! I usually only keep my tools on about 320 degrees. If you keep your tools on a lower temp you shouldn’t experience much of a smell!

How much does something like this cost total?
Hi! It depends on length, thickness and color. And stylists vary widely on their prices. For my install the starting price is $200 for the first row and $150 each additional row. And the hair is an additional cost on the first visit. Hair this long can range depending on length and color. A look like this typically needs about 8 wefts. Wefts can be $60-150+ per weft. I hope this helps! Sorry it took me so long to respond!!
How long does your hair have to be to get these type of extensions 🤔? I want to grow my pixie out but I'm tryto figure out how long it'll be before I can get extensions like these. Thanks
Hi! I think it is best to have it a little longer than bob length ( depending on how thick your hair is). If it is too short it is hard to blend and make it look natural. I hope this helps and I’m sorry it took me so long to respond!

I watched your videos on cutting the shag but I was most interested in how you did the really short bangs with the long layers. The video didn't show you going that short with the top of the hair or bangs? I absolutely love this look.
