    Saying to try Brazilian language first speaks millions about the stereotype she represents

    • @joe4me
      @joe4me 12 днів тому

      What stereotype? To me, she just stated common sense. Brazilian Portuguese is much easier to learn and, honestly, sounds much better. That said, it would be funny if 'Brazilian' really became a language, taking the 6th place among the most spoken languages in the world, while European Portuguese moved down to the 100th place. Don't be mad because you speak an ugly language, bro.

    Coimbra was indeed the first portuguese capital. Guimarães is the portuguese cradle not a capital, the king Afonço Henriques and his entourage had already moved to Coimbra when Portugal was recognised as a country.

  • @bellanivitor
    @bellanivitor 14 днів тому

    If you learn Portuguese from Brazil you won’t move to Portuguese from Portugal. The language in both countries are so rich and so different that whenever you start learning it’s a life long journey. As a Brazilian, I love many of the Portuguese writers, fim Gil Vicente to Eça de Queiroz and Fernando Pessoa. However, it’s is challenging for me as a native speaker of Portuguese. Imagine to a non native who has to make that transition from Brazilian Portuguese to Portuguese from Portugal.

    Coimbra wasn't the 1st capital...

    • @joe4me
      @joe4me 12 днів тому

      Actually, Guimarães is often considered the first capital of Portugal because it was where King Afonso Henriques established his court and began consolidating the kingdom. It is known as the "Cradle of the Nation". However, Coimbra also played a crucial role. After the Battle of São Mamede in 1128, the capital moved to Coimbra in 1131, remaining so until Lisbon became the capital in 1255. Thus, Guimarães is recognized as the birthplace of Portugal, while Coimbra was the first established capital.
