I think this was the last one? I'm probably going to play the older games and then come back to this. And no lie, streaming makes my gamer skills drop by 70% XD

I try talking to everybody, then I get yelled at from stream chat that I'm going too slow XD

@@blodythingarchive And that's why I don't stream and just play for myself XD Which characters are your favorites so far? Mine are Laura and Fie. Always have been, didn't change after getting through all the Cold Steel games. I try to have them both in my party whenever the games let me.

Honestly I like most of them. Though Laura, Sara and Fie would be my favorites. Towa scares me for some reason... And Machias is by far the character I like the least.

@@blodythingarchive Sara is fun to have around as their teacher, but you don't really get to play with her except that part in the intro and later when they return to that part in the actual story. Fie always reminded me of a stray cat and its fun to watch her interact with the others. She also gets some of the best lines. But I also like her gameplay when she is built as an evasion tank. Laura just destroys everything and can even onehit bosses in the endgame if you build her right. Towa is a real cinnamon roll. You're probably just overcautious because of people in our world that come of as "too nice". She's really just a hard working girl who wants to help people. All of the characters in this series have good writing and believable reasons why they act like they do. Machias is no exception. You'll find out why he acts like douche later.

Fie being a cat sounds believable though XD I'll probably keep using Laura for most of the game, even now she just steam rolls through most encounters. Towa makes me feel like she'll rip me in half if I trust her lol, though it's probably because of the "too nice" people I've dealt with in life

Sorry for the late response! Yep, this is the first time playing this series! I'll have to go back and play through the older games after playing through this one. It's kind of crazy to think how connected everything is!

@@blodythingarchive I only played CS2 right after the first because the first game of every sub series ends on a cliffhanger. That's why I went back to the Sky series after I completed the first arc of the Cold Steel series. And while I was playing those 3 games, Zero and Azure released in the West, so I had to play them as well before getting back into Cold Steel and I'm glad I did, because they continue the story of one of the Sky characters and some of the characters from Crossbell go straight to Erebonia right after to appear in CS3. It took me two and a half years to get from the beginning of CS1 through 9 games and to the end of CS4. I could be playing Reverie right now, but I decided to take a small break from the series and play Atelier Ryza instead.

It ends on a cliffhanger?! Should I just pause playing Cold Steel 1 and go back and play the older ones before continuing? And I do love Misato, so that's probably the same reason why I love Sara XD

@@blodythingarchive That's a thing with Trails games. Started all the way back with Trails in the Sky. You see, the separate arcs were initially supposed to be one game each, but they became so massive that they had to split them up. The older games are a bit harder to get into, unless you're really, REALLY into retro gaming or already invested in the world. They also changed some of the game mechanics over time, from combat to the way orbments work and the orbment system from the old games is harder to master. The general difficulty is harder as well. Normal on the old games is somewhere between Hard and Nightmare on the Cold Steel games. Storywise the first Erebonian arc can stand by itself, ecxept for the epilogue that comes after the finale of CS2. The previous games rely more on playing them in order from Sky FC, SC, 3rd, Zero and Azure and from CS3 forward, the games expect you to have played everything that came before. It's up to you if you want to go back now or finish the story you're currently in first.
