Will not being able to buy Work Shops keep me from advancing in Patchwork Play Ground? My husband doesn’t trust using our Debit card online so it limits me! Will it benefit me to sign up knowing this?
I'm not sure I understand your question. All of my workshops are INCLUDED inside Patchwork Playground. So there's no need for you to buy any workshops. Also, the check-out process is very secure so there shouldn't be any problem using the card.
This is such an excellent tutorial ! I followed every detailed steps and it worked beautifully and neatly. Thank you so much, you're a wonderful teacher ❤
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial.
Your blouse is so pretty! Wearing EPP!
Thank you!
Found this super helpful. Many thanks!
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome. :D
I’m new to EPP & I’m so glad you showed us how to stitch everything together for the butterfly bc I would not have known how to. Especially clipping the concave curves that helps everything lay flat. I’ve learned so much from this Video, & I’m sure I’ll learn even more tips from you Jayne, Thank you Very much!🌹☀️🌈☀️
You are very welcome! So glad you are enjoying the series!
What is Patchwork?
Quilt making! Also known as English Paper Piecing
@MakerJayne ok, I had no idea. I'm a newbie.
Hi there. Very good video, but I could not find the template, let alone download it? I joined the website and still cannot download or could not find the template???? You don't get what is offered in the video????😐🙄😒
Thanks for reaching out! Right now, you can get the templates when you join and participate in the community. It's a bit complicated, I know. I'm working on making it a simpler process. Thanks for your patience! :D
Just sent you a message inside the group with the templates attached. Sorry for the confusion!
I’m fairly new to hand sewing, but when adding needles to my collection I was instantly intrigued by milliners needles, and soon discovered them as a favourite for all sorts of tasks. I even use them over sashiko needles when trying out that and boro because I prefer using finer threads anyway and the feel of the slight flex in the milliners needle feels good to me. I have some betweens but as of yet I haven’t gone through thicker fabrics or hand quilted. I think my knuckles would hurt if I tried to use a small between for any length of time. 😂 I watched a lady doing traditional hand quilting on a huge hoop, and the style of needle then made perfect sense to me as something that needed to be short and stout as it was pushed and rocked between two thimbles. I found your video very helpful thank you.
So glad you enjoyed the video! I agree! The flex of the milliners needle does feel good.
Hi janie as you are paying in dollars $ how much will that be in pounds £ uk and will the patterns be in pdf (just being curious) And excited of course 😊
Great questions! The patterns come in PDF. The templates come in both PDF and SVG for those who have cutting machines. I don't know the current conversion to pounds but you could find that out from Google! :D
I would love to join you gut money is thighs 😢
I understand. You will be missed!
I enjoy learning from your tutorials. I'm trying to find the starter quilt kit on your blog? Any help?
Thank you for your comment. I just updated the blog post. It should now be available at the link in the video description. :D
Well I tried to get the download for free templates but had to go through so many steps I just gave up after signing in to join a community & still couldn’t get access! Sorry for being so blunt. Maybe I did something wrong I don’t really know. It’s really hard for me since I’ve have a couple strokes & when there’s too many steps I get confused. But Thank You for sharing how many hexagon’s will fit on a fat quarter, very helpful. I do Love your Videos!🌸☀️🌈☀️🩷
I’m so sorry that you had trouble accessing the templates. I’ll make sure they’re easier to find in the future.
Agree on the John James gold n glide milliners needles. I use them in size 11.
I like milliners size 11 to use with 60 or 80 poly thread.
I would love to have you do a tutorial on the Joseph’s Coat quilt. I can’t find details on it that are as precise as your videos
I haven't heard of that design before. I will definitely look into it for a future video!
How do I find description?
click on the word "more" that shows up right under the video. :)
I found some Gutermann thread but I can't find what the weight of it is? Any thoughts on figuring it out?
I had trouble figuring out the weight of Gutermann, as well. From what I could find online it's somewhere in the 50 to 60wt, if I recall correctly.
Beautiful EPP Holiday Ornament with your choices of fabric + using the sparkling thread!
Thank you so much! It really makes the ornament pop!
Lots of great info in your videos. You should have a lot more subs by now! Subscribed.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the video! Makes a lot of sense. I would like to know how to take a color page and translate it into material choices. How many prints vs solids ,etc.
That is a great question! You'll find it helpful to think about the visual impact you are going for and how much contrast you prefer.
Thank you
You're welcome
I tried to join but the bil and profile picture links don't seem to be working.

🎉🎉 Thank You ... This was perfect.
You're welcome! 😊
Very useful, thank you so much for sharing! 😘
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Janie, I’m having problems with stitching the hexagons together. I’m using a coordinating thread but the stitches still show through. Any help is appreciated. Great math video!
You’re welcome, I’m so glad you enjoyed the math lesson! Regarding your stitches, the first thing I recommend is using a finer needle. It will enable you to pick up less fabric. I found that worked for me. Let me know how it goes for you!
That was the perfect advice for a different needle. Ty ty ty 💕
Good tute.....my experience is that most fat quarters are not true, so check the actual measurement before cutting. By using a half yard , you
Oops...you just confirmed my comments... thanks 😊
That is great advice! Always best to check the actual measurement first.
Thankyou I joined
I really loved your first flower you are sharing looks like it’s 2 layers of flower laying both together amazing I love it 🎉
Thanks so much 😊
How do I measure to cut hexagon shape from scratch 1” I would like to do myself please help me thanks
You can draw a hexagon a few different ways. Try doing a Google search for "how to draw a hexagon". :D
Hope more skip social media groups and this platform instead.
Good morning. I found your videos because I’m interested in branching out on the shapes I use for EPP. I noticed your Etsy shop is on a break, is there someplace else I can find the templates?
Thank you! Not at this time. I'm currently working on setting up a shop for my website. When that is done, you'll be able to get them there.
What a great idea, I’ve joined!
Welcome! I am so glad you joined.
Awesome! I joined! Thanks for this.
Welcome aboard!
What size is the hexagon (whole shape)
I think those are 2" hexagons
Thank you for this platform. I'm excited to see your creativity and be a part. I'd like to see some content/pattern more than the granny flower. It is beautiful but l'd like a different challenge. One pattern that could be a repeat for a quilt. Easily attainable. Blessings Janyne.
You're welcome! I'm excited to have you along and I hear you on the variety of patterns. There is more to come! :D
Interesting and very well thought out. Just a note: I don't care if a calendar begins on Monday or Sunday. I have been using calendars for decades now, so those things don't throw me one bit. 🙂 Sorry if I missed it, but will you still add content to UA-cam?
Yes, I'll continue adding new videos to the YT channel.
Hi, I joined your new groop but now I can't find it, where can I find it, how do I do ?
Did you download the Skool app?
@debrat777 no I didn'n 🙈🙈🙈 thank you so much, now I can read everything 🥰
@@annelihallberg2288 great! You’re welcome!
I hope you were able to get in okay, with the help of @debrat777!
Thank you for understanding the needs of those of us who limit our media noise😊
Is this only in computer or can we search for eg template on mobile phone as I don’t have laptop or computer
Great question! You can access the group on mobile using the Skool app. :D
@ yes I got the app I got straight away as I signed up with the group
Never mind! I should have watched to whole video. In the next part you explained why the papers are important. You are a great teacher . Thank you !
You're welcome!
Why don’t you take out the card stock when you sew the second seam? Instead of it having to bend .
Excellent video w/ lots of good ideas. In my opinion, the most important message is at time stamp 13:08 when she explains the importance of avoiding glue on the very edge of the template. I learned this the hard way by pushing (and dulling!!) my needles through the paper for the first “flower garden” set - when 19 hexies later I figured it out. Ouch!
❤❤❤❤
Is this the same way you would do square shapes
Yes, you could do square and rectangle shapes the same way.
Thank you for your advice today , helpful . All tips always help .
You are so welcome!
I am hand stitching Grandma’s Flower Garden BOM from Ashmead Hexies Designs.
That’s a gorgeous quilt!
The mirror trick is neat. At 30:13 you could just draw the cut lines a round the outside of the template and the inside for the placement of the cardstock template on the back side. You also would notice that you were short on fabric on on corner.
I downloaded your EPP snowflake pattern. You say you needed 469 hexagon templates. So I look at the pattern but you don’t break it down to how many light blue hexagons I need and how many dark purple hexagons I need. You need to specify each one. Your instructions are not very clear. And why are you putting them on the wrong side of the fabric. Very confusing.
That info is on page 3 of the pattern. In EPP, the templates are always put on the wrong side of the fabric.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Looks great for Christmas.
It’s perfect for the holidays!
