I have a different take on the woman at the well altogether. "I have no husband" How did she have five husbands that she didn't know about? She knew herself as a Samaritan woman, but Jesus knew her as a soul and was talking about her soul's journey and the many lives her soul had lived on the earth at different times. She was not married and divorced five times in this lifetime but in previous lifetimes. Jesus was speaking of reincarnation. "he who has and ear let him hear."

The Jews hated the Samaritans far more than the Samaritans hated the Jews. Just for information.

There is nothing in the text that indicates the Samaritan woman was in any way sexually immoral.

Hello Karen. Enjoyed your presentation. I just finished a scholarly article on Rahab, which took months, and you are welcome to read it if you would like. It is still fresh off the press and has not been published yet. If there is an email address you can list here, I would be happy to share it with you.

Two women stand in the presence of the creator of the Universe. One sister is so overwhelmed she wants to ask Jesus every question under the sun and worship him. The other wants to make the perfect meal and serve it to him. But the question here is, does that perfect meal show Martha's pride in her abilities and not enough interest in the Word and it's very presence in front of her ? I know as every human being does that the pride of humans in their own abilities can overwhelm us. Trying to make us the center of attention.

I was drawn to her because her faith amazed me.. she was from a foreign land, never witnessed any of the acts of God, God never spoke to her… she heard about Him from hearsay… yet she risked her life , treason against her country… out of Faith! Yet the Israelites who a He showed Himself to again and again lost faith easily and and worshiped idols time and time again

I’m gonna stop listening for a moment and respond to your question. What do I think about the statement that the woman had five husbands. Perhaps one of her husbands died perhaps one of her husbands realize she did not give him any children or a son and left her and perhaps she was beautiful and charming and a good cook so she could get another husband but maybe she could not have children and they kept leaving her, but I will not think of her as a hussy, and I will not look down at her. I know it was hard for women then and it’s still hard for women now. And in Jesus name, I pray that that all irons out we are not below on the totem pole we are equal we are humans we are made in God’s image and we deserve respect. I won’t go to the lowly thinking about her except to say obviously her life has not been a bowl of cherries , and she’s lucky to be talking to Christ, blessed to be in his presence

Where does it say that the Samaritan woman was ever divorced? Could she have been widowed by a man and forced to marry his brother? We don’t know what happened to these men. But in the culture of the time, when women were not entirely free to marry, the man up their own choice, there is a very high probability that this woman might have been forced to have sexual intercourse with five men, whom she did not love. Think about it! And since she could not live alone, and most likely did not have a father or a brother with whom she could live with, it is entirely possible that this sixth man is taking advantage of her in the same way that the first five did. We read this as a story about a woman who was divorced multiple times, But Jesus seems to be addressing her rejection, not the fact that her personality or sin, or whatever you want to call it made it so difficult to live with that men gave her a bill of divorce. Just something to think about. Thank you for sharing!

Now I understand the story of Martha and Mary. You expained it and taught it so beautifully. I am called to be Martha, my sister called to be Mary. It made me bitter. In my bitterness Jesus answered my prayers of asking Jesus Why with two words, Be Still!" Ive tried to understand and now you have explained it so beautifully. Thank you so much for helping me to understand what Jesus was teaching us in this story.

You point out the fact how she had five husbands so you have a lot of assumptions you assume that the men left her. It's not stated nor do we have that information for all we know they could have died and so you're assuming that she was hard to live with she was maybe quarrelsome and her husband's left her you're assuming and putting a lot of information in there that's not in the Bible. So at this point I'm going to quit listening to you cuz you put a lot of assumptions in there that's not. And for people that don't know the Bible you would be very misleading to people

I like your presentation. But everyone seems to assume she was DIVORCED 5 times? She could have been divorced 5 times or widowed some or all of the times. On another note, Jesus was trying to get rid of all the burdensome formulae put upon the people when God just gave 10 rules to follow thus breaking the norm. He also does this in the story of the Good Samaritan. Instead of helping the stricken man the priest and Levite of the Temple avoid him so as not to become unclean.

Rajab was a story of how her faith was profitable to her and her fellow family and man. It is not to be mistaken with your faith being responsible for your eternal salvation. James is about justification before man not justification before God. Your faith is no good to mankind if it doesn’t have works!

The "Rachab" in Matthew 1:5 is NOT the Rahab the Harlot (the Canaanite) in Joshua 2:1. Some will say that Rachab is the Greek spelling of Rahab but in Hebrews 11:31 and James 2:25, the Rahab in those verses is actually Rahab the harlot of the Old Testament. Look it up, those two names have different Greek spelling. I could break this video down to dust and ashes but I'll leave you with this: the conquest of Jericho and Joshua's time and Rahab's time are around 1400 BCE. Salmon is King David's great-great grandfather. David took the throne in 1010 BCE, putting Salmon roughly 100 years older than David, so that's closer to 1100 BCE. Do you see where this is going? So, you're telling me that Rahab the harlot was 300 YEARS OLD when she allegedly birthed Boaz??? Make it make sense. In the KJV, the Rachab in Matthew 1:5 is a DIFFERENT WOMAN. And, and, for a P.S. moment, when the Israelites came and got Rahab the harlot and her family, there weren't allowed inside the camp, there were left outside the camp but allowed to stay in the land of Israel (Joshua 6:23). Oh, last thing, remember what Moses told the Israelites in Deuteronomy 7:1-4? If you don't remember, here it is: 1When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; 2And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: 3Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 4For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly. They were commanded to NOT make marriages with the Canaanites. 'Nuff said. Read your bibles.

Thank you!!! Your study is the 1st I've seen that supports what I believe to be true in regard to Martha - that these are two separate scenarios of Mary sitting at Jesus' feet and Martha serving. The first scene in Luke 11 seems to be early in Christ's ministry, while the second scene in John 12 appears to be at the beginning of the Passion week. Most commentators focus on Mary's devotion as better than Martha's serving. Yet we see the development of Martha's faith as she grows to understand serving from a healthy soul, living out her spiritual giftedness with love toward her Lord and in shalom. I love this!!!

Mary was a prostitute. We first see her in John 8. Then each gospel shares her story of washing Christ's feet with her hair. The alabaster box came from the rich man who faired sumptuously every day.

Hi Thank you for your teaching... I am a real time Life Rahab and Joseph.. God sent me a dream 30 years ago.. about meeting my ex husband who is an FBI agent who betrayed me and lives in Jericho and God also sent me a dream about trump cards.. Let me tell you about Rahab as a child.. I saved my brother from being sexually abused by my Grandfather... I was locked in a room. I looked out the window and asked GOD Yeshua are you out there?.. Growing up People said if you make better choices and tell the the Truth your life will be better my life was NOT better.... My ex husband used to say who will they believe me or you.. God said he called me as an expert witness and I think now it is about Rahab... I hope that I can explain how important and misunderstood the story is and thanks for keeping it alive.. I want to thank you.. Because the story of Rahab is a spy novel.. We all like spy stories.. Why isn't Rahab liked? Because she was saving her own life and other people lives.. That is why I married someone in law enforcement.. to save lives.. Funny How Men can be heroes but women can't.. God told me I care tooo much about what people think.. I am working on that.. Please keep up your teaching and telling the truth
