Great patience Ray!😂
I had all 4 replaced as common fault. …
I have had the same problem with my L494, I do a lot of miles so mine popped up around 160k miles. Straight to the red triangle. If you look at the data pids unless it tells you what should be they still seem to have a reading and that misleads you. The sensor is £250 from main dealer and I bought after market ones which only lasts afew months before you need to change it again. The sensor comes with the plastic bracket and all the pipe works. You can’t just change the sensor either which would be a 5 minute job, but Land Rover put loctite on the alan keyed bolt and you end up rounding it. Buy genuine new sensor or a low mileage used one. I too bought the wyns dpf cleaner and unless you take the exhaust off to block the end it will never stay on the top of the filter unless it’s totally blocked. It’s waste of time
Don’t do forced Regens 😭😭😭
hi ray, should ignition be on do you think when trying to pair new remote to FBH, and you remove fuse? what do you think, mines a 2013 L405 sdv8 same as yours.
Hi i thought you had to use a supplied gps antenna
Can you charge the battery with an AGM charger with the terminals connected?
Great video. Can you make one about the l405 heated seats. Mine only works some times😂
My SDV8 while I owned it mostly used for short journeys and needed a regen after only 70 miles. I used a dongle and car scanner app to monitor the level and exhaust gas temps.very useful set up borrowed from the ffrr forum.
What scanner do you use? I have SDV8 2018….would like to monitor it. 👍
Welcome back!! Great video and intro, keep up the good work!!
Interesting video. Whatever you guys do is always worth its weight in gold. Thanks.
I’d rather you do high quality videos when they are ready, rather than feel obliged to churn them out on a schedule. I like how your canine assistant is always keeping you company in the videos!
Thanks for putting the new video up I found it very interesting.
I’ve monitored my SDV8 many times with my GAP tool. A good way to see what it’s doing is also log exhaust temperature bank 1, sensors 1, 2 and 3. Sensor 2 will be at around 620 degrees Celsius while doing a regen. It’s the DPF temp sensor. Mine usually gets down to 1.7-1.9 grams then starts to increase, the regen stops and sensor 2 temp drops right back to 250 degrees Celsius. Normal regen usually kicks in around 18.5-19.5 grams. I find with my style of driving it can be anywhere between 300-400 miles between regens. I do maybe half short journeys and half long on average. But aye, like you said Raymond. It would have been beneficial to se what the actual grams were while the red warning was on. Would have given a bit of an insight on what was triggering it. The car maybe didn’t do an active regen to bring the soot content down, they can also do passive regens if conditions are right.
I have a 2013 5.0 Supercharged with the same symptom. I don't have an electric auxiliary heater or a fuel burning heater. Do the petrol versions of the L405 also have this diverter valve? Thanks so much for the great content.
Hi great video, which kit did you purchase? and would you have a link please? Thanks.
Keep the door open or you can do damage!
Question…why do you drain those 2 pipes unterneath? And what will happen if you don’t drain the turbo pipes?
Hi! Do you have the part nr for wires tubes? Thanks
hi raymies i purchased same car as you back the beginning december, love your videos of l405, so methodical, nothing fazes you, great stuff keep it coming,
just a few notes ,,,, you dont actually have to take the fan pack out , or take out the passengers air box or header tank ,,, trick is to take the idler off the serpentine belt and put a loop of rope through the top alternator mount to make a loop about a foot long , this works as a handle and will let you lift the alternator out , its quite tight but not crazy .. I did it on my own and put the new alternator in on my own too if you use a phillips screwdriver in the top mount hole , it will work as a handle to let you line up the new alternator once the things roughly in place the screwdriver will push into the top mount bolt hole and hold it happily while you get the two lowers into place , then just swap the screwdriver for the proper bolt ,,, its shorter than the two bottom ones ... hope that helps someone some hassles ,,,
great video , Im doing this job tomorrow , in a heated workshop and on a ramp and its still going to be a pita , you guys deserve a medal for doing one outside .
What a ridiculous palaver to access a quick change Fuelmaster/Stanadyne filter.
Thank you sir!
Very nice video.. thank you so much
Fuel filter on the TDV8 3.6 is sooooo much easier
Nice video! Thanks - Did you lock the air suspension before lifting the vehicle or do you want it to have movement with unlocked? Thanks
So what was the correct replacement cable number from Amazon?
This will not work for the 2017 L405 with the lastest infotainment system as the 2018/2020 the bracket you put on last bolts from the back and fills the entire length of the unit. I tried several times
What's the part number? I'm having the same issue
Great video mate! Detailed and realistic from Oz
Hi is it an easy job to replace the bush fron and rear thanks dave
I assume you mean the ACE bar bushing , yes its fairly easy
Yes th8nk that's it thanks dave they just said thre anti roll bushes are worn need replacing
Nice work thank you
I admire your patience with this, having changed the lower arms on mine, and nicked the boot for the new arm which I didn’t realise at the end. Took me 2 hours to put the front lower arm back in, lot of colourful words and few flying spanner’s!
Hey there, I've ended up in same situation. Do you have anything else that you would like to add before i proceed with this.
good luck :)
Really great video, good camera work, clear thought process and explanation. Many thanks 👍
I did the same thing when I worked on the ball joint and nicked the CV gator, I also bought the split type, which was a nightmare to try to glue together. I gave up in the end and fitted the complete type. You are right about the clamp pliers they are garbage. I enjoyed the video 👍
Hello! can this tool reset your battery monitoring system when switching batteries?
Great vid thanks. Just bought an Elgrand!😂. They’re awesome!
Thanks
I just changed lower mount on mine and struggled trying to loosen the nuts until I decided to try and loosen from the other side and it work! Nut came of so easy. Go to find out that one of the nuts are welded to the bracket on both side brakets.
I agree with you that the GAP IID tool G3 is not doing as much as you would think it should for the money paid. I have uploaded from the computer some extra functions, but I am still disappointed. I bought a Carly and I was not happy with that either. That Lunch scanner seems a good addition to your toolbox.
Hi raymies, my names andy, ihave to say i love watching your channel, you are not phased by anything which is great, ihave recently purchased a L405 4.4 and when i put lock on to the right i get what i can only describe as a grating noise, it comes from behind me and only when accelerating left or right from a junction ,someone suggested it was transfer box ? what are your thoughts , i live in manchester , would run it straightround to you if more local to you,😂thanks.
Hi Good instructions vid! Question Is this the same set up and removal for a U.S. 2016 L405 supercharged v6 petrol Range Rover? Thanks
hi its at 10 min 15 sec when the cover is removed bottom right corner
CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE AW93 14B663
@@RaymiesGarage ok great daft question ...but what dose it do ?.thanks
hi great stuff you put out ,can i ask what is the silver component (white label ,blue connectors ) bottom right to the right of the rear fuse compartment is please .as it looks like mine is missing connectors are there but what they plug into isn't .thanks
at what point in the video (mins / Sec) and Il l have a look
Nice video. In your opinion can I do this the same way on my 2008 Discovery 3 by removing the fender liner or do I have to remove the whole bumper like most videos show.
Nice research AP! Great video BUT ffs you could have vacc’d the carpet before the seat went back in!😂😂
Good video again Raymond, these range rovers are keeping you and pat in full time mechanic jobs!
Great video again, so next job sunroof drains!
