Anglesey Wales Track Day in the Race Car
UK Trip with trackdays.ie. First stop Angelsey, lovely track, lovely food and it didn't rain so had a great day. Didn't push too hard as going to Oulton Park the next day. About 25 cars from Ireland on the Trip so great buzz and banter among the car enthusiasts. Enjoy the video ! Boo Yaka Sha

Another Mondello trackdays.ie event. Great morning. No Red flags ! Lots of fast action on track with various Honda's battling vs the SHP Racecar. New PB. Aiming to get below 2:00 so a lot of time to make up. Put in a new Drivers seat in Jan, did another bolt check and had a good Blast in Jan. Brakes still not feeling confident in them and handling a bit over steer ish. Did service after that and new plugs, adjusted rear 10mm higher and roll bar 10mm forward. What a difference in Feb, like a new car. Really enjoyed February and great crack with Diarmuid in his new S2000. Hope you enjoy the video.

This was my best clean lap with no yellows, second last one of the weekend. Definitely could go quicker and slowed down in parts due to Fear and also letting cars past which is regular occurrence at the Ring. The Ringfreaks car is perfect for beginner doing some laps on the Ring. Suspension, brakes and handling spot on. See can you spot the 4 slow down areas ;) @Ringfreaks @HQTrackdays

After my first nervous lap and a couple of solo slows ones I asked Patrick to show me how it's done and what the car is capable of ! Professional driver on the limit in a relatively slow car for him. Bucket List trip to the Ring. Fly out Sat night, hire car and drive to the Dorint Hotel at the F1 Track. Couple of hours sleep and collect the car and Patrick Steinmetz ( Pro Driver with AMG ) Nervous drive to the Ring and first lap. To have such a cool calm dude beside me was great. Got the new car worked on by Alan Watkins MotorWorx. He won the Supercar championship multiple times so he knows these cars inside out. After a lot of work and fixing up back in Mondello for another Testing day !

Fundracer is a must for any petrol head. Happens once a year in Mondello. Been running for 10 years. Supercars, Drifiting, Race cars, Show and Shine. Kids stuff. Could you please answer me a few questions. I've never been to a track day before, I've only done the single seater driving experience at Mondello a few times which is good fun but only uses part of the track and It would be nice to hava a go on the full track. I was thinking about booking August 5 for a half day. First question is can you use any car? I drive a 2014 mazda 6 estate which is obviously by no means a race car but still handles fairly nice and secondly do you have to wear a helmet. I've read the terms and conditions and there is no mention of it.
Hi Pat, minimum you need is a car,helmet and driving licence. You can hire helmets from trackdays.ie Check your car has plenty of oil, brake pads and fuel. That's all you need. Ease yourself into it and make sure check tyre pressures and wheel nuts. Plenty of people there that you can borrow pressure gauge etc I should be there that morning so pop over to say hello.
I done a more detailed video on your first track day so no harm to watch that a few times 😉

Standard Engine, Coilovers and stripped out Interior with a basic Seat were only mods then. Did few other bits after but nothing major 👍

Enjoyable video! The wing seems like its flexing too much, you could try using a piece of sheet metal on the inside of the boot to distribute the load, you should have a look at cross bracing!

@@davidoneill2966 I was out today in new car. All issues sorted. Ended up coming off in last session and slid into tyre wall via gravel. Cosmetic stuff. Didn't have camera on which is more annoying 😅 Enjoy the day. Let me know next time your up 👍

Fuck that car needed me driving it, she has so much more potential and was wasted. Not a bad drive, but can easily push her way more into and out of the corners.

Helmet is mandatory James. Cheap one is around 100-150. Trackdays.ie will rent helmet for you or Murray Motorsport or Ears.ie to buy Irish 🇮🇪 👍
