That awesome, I got one just like that today for 100 dollars. It didn’t come with a paddle, but I can live with that especially for that price. The lady said it’s only been used once and I believe her too. It looks like brand new… That was the first thing I saw that I didn’t like was the foot rests… I’ll definitely be upgrading those. So when you put a screw in the kayak you don’t have to do anything to waterproof the hole? Sorry, I’ve never owned one and I’m probably gonna ask several dumb questions…😂

Some people have had problems with the red dot scope outdoors. Do you have that problem?

Biggest issue with the "new" 835 is the fact that they pinned the action bars into that cheap plastic forend. I experienced a catastrophic failure with mine while attending a tactical shotgun class where the whole forend cracked down the middle and fell apart. An action bar misaligned during the action and broke because it was not designed to handle that type of torque from an odd angle. I replaced the entire front end with the old style slide tube assembly, dual action bars and the older style forend. No problems since replacing all that, and the loose wobbly rattle in the forend is gone.

A few tips, check the nose bolt that holds the bow on. It can vibrate loose. Do not over tighten. Lube the arrow tray every 10 shots. Reduces string wear and protects tray. All crossbows are loud, so aim lower 1/3 of the kill zone. Crossbow with my arrow set ups is accurate out to 40 yards. Due to speed of this crossbow, I would aim extremely low on shots much further than 20 yards. Penetration with arrow set ups 450 plus grains is not as much of an issue as the deer dropping at the sound of the crossbow causing arrow to strike high or even go over the deer's back.

For the money, this is an excellent crossbow. I have experimented with several different arrow set ups. My heavy arrow was a 20 inch 2219 shooting a 250 gr cut on contact VPA broadhead 191 fps. A 20 inch 2216 worked best with 150 grain Ozcut two blade 218 fps. I bought 18 inch 2216s made by Barnett and they flew best with a 200 grain two blade Grizzly single bevel with a steel screw in adapter 209 fps. Foot pounds for most set ups around 48. I could not get good broadhead accuracy shooting 100 or 125 grain cut on contact broadheads. Not a fan of mechanicals. Nikon 3x crossbow scope works great.

Those style of sights set too high on the gun, should have got a Fastfire 3 or similar, went through it on my 835,night and day difference

This was the worst POS shotgun I have ever owned. When firing the shotgun all the shells in the tube came flying out. I returned it to the store where when tested a replacement, Mossberg. All those shells came flying out when fired. They have a machining problem with this model... Stat far away.

Wish I had watched this video a while back. I missed a bird because of the real sight moving. Think it happened when I got out of the truck in the morning and a piece of greenbriar wrapped around the barrel. It wasnt until I walked back and sat where the shot was taken, and sighted down the barrel, that I realized it jumped to the outside groove. At 30 yards and a tight choke its easy to miss. Thanks for the video

I have the 835 ultimag. I had the same issue with the shells getting jammed. I found it was only happening with the federal shells. Not sure why but so far no other make of shot shell jams. I assume it’s because the brass on federal is weaker and expands. I have no scientific proof of that but that’s my guess.

Your wiggling the forearm not stock

Remove the pump and on the inside top side apply two small bands of Velcro (female side). Your pump will glide on the Velcro and it will also remove some of the play. There is a UA-cam video on this application.

The old pattern Johnson reels are one of the best spincast reels I have used. I also highly recommend the higher end Zebco spincast reels, like the Rhino model.

I bought the same sight for my moss 500, but unfortunately the glass pop out and rendered it useless 😞

I think you got a bad egg, had my 835 for 12 years and not once have I had any issue, the rattling of the pump is the nature of the beast, I do agree with you on the fiber sights I’m not a fan. I do like mossbergs double bead.
