This is a brand new shiny game still in Early Acess. Go and grab it on steam and look for me in NA or AU servers. There are various Discord's for joining pick up games T3 AUS PuG Hub and T3 Comp for NA.

Most welcome! It was unfortunate that we had to use Sth America server, which was a real disadvantage for sure, esp to our NA players who are not used to high ping, they could hardly hit anything, whereas Magic are from EU and used to playing with similar ping. We were rolled in the next 2 matches

Yeh, supposed to be a 'moon' look. It's a big map, and it feels quite different to the others, almost like there's air brakes on slightly.

I have no idea tbh chad. I am not the only one to notice it either, it's not a game killer, just a bit different feeling somehow. Hope to have an answer for you when I find out.

YES! I have 2 Finches and 3 Budgerigar's. The Budgies can be noisy sometimes, singing away and talking to me while gaming. They are most likely giving me tips coz they can fly and see this stooge trying to fly on screen, lol!

Yes! It's pretty amazing how good the gameplay is with AU to NA ping.

YES! A lot of difference and the high ping doesn't do wonders either. Ascend has just lost a server host for pub games, but there's organized games that happen US Fri/Sat 9PM East I think the time is. If you want to check it out let me know. Easy download and setup.

@@gredwa Id love to, but 9pm eastern is like 1-2am my time. I have enough problems with sleeping and being tired for work as it is, cant really add to it to play a game right now. maybe when im on hols for 2 weeks mid July

There is a patch almost ready to deploy. Perhaps end of June, just a few things they want to get right. It is very playable now, get on and enjoy

A quick question, did u stream this? have u thought about putting the keyboard / mouse button overlay on your stream, so we can see your keyboard inputs. Love that 35 right cap route, so damn fast, reminds me of the old cap routes on Raindance t1

@@chadtopia 1. No, I didn't stream it, just record via nVidia, then upload. I prefer this way. 2. I use one when I play Tribes Ascend which is part of a hud module. I didn't want to trigger the anti-cheat in T3 but I have seen some T3 players using one which I will have to look into more. I did in the beginning, plus I wouldn't mind some form of timer overlay with a keybind to engage it, but haven't found anything yet. The Ascend hud module is great, but it is a separate coding to the game. 3. Yeh, that route is rather delicious for this map and side. Shame the T3 map sides aren't mirrored as the game stats show that some sides are more favourable for winning than the other, which is a shame, as things should be fair for both teams right? Routes can be 'better' one side to the other. And it makes it a chore for cappers as we have to learn routes for both sides when not mirrored and most likely why many players don't bother with capping, it takes a 'life investment' to really get good at it when all some players want/need to do is have fun and kill stuff.

Very good question. You can see when I start that 1st route, I do a bit of a flick skywards. What I am doing is hitting the thrust key at the same time I flick upwards and it gives me some extra height. It can be a bit tricky for a new capper to 'get it' but after some practice it is like most things in gaming, becomes 2nd nature and not much thought put into it. Sometimes on mid route, I will also do this to gain more height just to make sure I will hit the downslope I want to hit without using all my energy pool trying to get there. In T3 height = speed. Dropping out of the sky without using anything, allows gravity to increase speed, then I use jets uphill to keep that speed gained. Does that make sense? In the previous tourney vid on DX, you can see on the very 1st route I didn't get the last hop I needed to get that little bit of height to enter at stand level and face planted the base wall. This was also due to 2 reasons - 1. I had not adjusted the auto graphics pov speed setting which you see me turn off later in the vid, as I was running a few mins late, didn't think of it and we started as soon as I was in server and 2. I had used all my jets due to the different visual perspective that setting gives, as in everything looks further away and faster than it really is, to get to the little hop point and I had nothing left that would lift me up just that little bit. Capping is unique for sure. These things are only learnt by spending many hours in gameplay, same as you for your HO role. Love to get a game with you one of these days.

@@gredwa wow that is one hell of a reply. i get entirely what you are saying and I agree, it’s the little quirks and tricks you learn when you play a role regularly. i would be pleased and honoured to play alongside you in a pug or a pub. I’ve been doing the HO role since t1 days, and played competitive T1 and t2. i’m better at commentating tho :) check my channel for cf v mno tribes 1 vid. that’s me commentating on two of the best clans in europe

@@gredwa also the reason i asked about map marking. is that when playing Cloak of Night as HO, i worked out a location on the map behind a hill, that it i aimed my reticle at a certain edge of the cloud, i could blind spam the flag directly, from behind a huge hill, and out of range of defence rocket, which i also worked out how to hit blind too. shocked the hell out of a few ppl :)

@@chadtopia Just subbed you mate! Awesome channel you have going there, I will have to explore it when time permits. Regarding HO, it's actually one of the most important roles in the T3 game. The capper can't rely on self clear in T3 to get out, not with mines and domes and force field and usually 1 to 2 heavies to deal with, then a chase after all that if I get out. With a competent HO that listens to capper times and focuses on the flag to clear in the last 15 seconds, it can be the difference in getting out or not. In T3 we can run 2 cappers who sync up times to within 5 seconds of each other, (you can see how this works in the casual after tourney match I just uploaded) and then the 2 offence can focus the stand together instead of being split, going in alone and being taken out quickly by their defence. @@mischiefone138 Yes, I know 1st hand how life can consume us. I am limited to daytime hour play mostly, when our PuG's pop in the evenings around 9pm.

This is not a Hirez implementation if that is what you are thinking, as Hirez dropped the game completely. This is on the community version of Ascend with a private dev and myself testing their ideas for better netcode with ping adjustment. It is not the same netcode as for Tribes 3: Rivals which is pretty much a brand new game, with new code and using a new game engine. Although many Ascend players might argue that T3 should have been named Tribes Ascend 2 as it is very similar in features and gameplay. If you want to get into Ascend again, search Discord for 'Tribes Ascend Community Hub' and there's a 'how to play' with instructions. Cheers!

I have found it doesn't really offer that much difference by the time I get to their flag and I didn't want to make a crutch out of it either, so that when they nerf it, I won't be disappointed.

If you go to this few frames ua-cam.com/video/7F4IjrPj6Y8/v-deo.html you can see the defence player in front of me, he used a concussion grenade which forces the flag to drop and with all their base action and concentrating on getting out, I didn't even realise I had lost it. The animation for a 'conc' isn't really all that good, and I have missed conc's in other games as well.

If you don't mind paying to play, it's only $20USD on Steam. There are Discord channels that we use for game organisation and comms, T3 comp and T3 AUS PuG HUB.

Yes I agree, they are both great maps. I hope these routes have been able to help you. Just keep at it and if you find some a bit difficult, change it up to your own variant. There's no strict rules with routes and each capper can change them to suit their style and level of gameplay. Cheers!

It sure is a strange mechanic and hard to get down for those non-straight blinks, but it offers cappers some choice in their routes. I don't use it all the time, in fact more of a thrust capper than blink.
