Love Lifts
United Kingdom
Приєднався 21 лют 2014
Hello! Welcome to my channel! Lifts are interesting in so many ways, and hopefully my videos will show that. They'll include seeing how they work, how many old lifts still exist without any mod and they are more different than most people think! I've been inspired to film lifts by Beno, DieselDucy, Jimwoodward1212, ZZ9 Productions, Lift Excelsior and others!
I will also be uploading escalators and travelators where I find any. I might also throw in a man-powered lift or 2!
Sit back and enjoy!

A tribute to Cavendish House and their lifts and escalators
(Subtitles are available)
Apologies that this video wasn't edited and uploaded nearer the closing time, but as they say, better late than never!
I've created this video a couple of weeks ago, as a memory of my visits to Cavendish House in Cheltenham, featuring all my lift and escalator rides in this iconic store. Since it closed its doors as a House of Fraser store, I believe it had opened as an indoor trading place for market stalls. I haven't been to Cheltenham since 2019, so it'll be interesting to see Cav House in its current state. I've no idea on the status of the lifts there now (the Otis ModLift was the only one still working until store closed). If anyone has been to Cav House recently, please let me know in the comments as I'm very interested. My narrations in this video explains everything in the video, so no need for me to re-type everything here.
As I mentioned in my one of my narration, I'm gonna give a shoutout to Joe's Bus/Train/Plane/Lift Adventures and link his video in the description, as it's definitely worth a watch.

Wide Angle lens test, I'd like your opinions
Переглядів 3956 місяців тому
Filmed in 2024. I've decided to film a lift very local to me today (27th June '24), which I've already featured on my channel, but I wanted to try and see what it would look like if I used my wide angle lens on my phone. Let me know your thoughts below, should I use the wide angle view going forward, or stick with my normal default view? Little bit of info about this lift, this is an old Expres...
Really nice Kone Monospace lifts at Old Market car park, Hereford
Переглядів 3416 місяців тому
Filmed in 2015 and 2023. Firstly, sorry for the not so amazing effort to keep my channel going, main reason being is that I've been very busy at work. But I'm back (again) and uploading! So here we have a set of 2 Kone Monospace Ecodiscs at the Old Market shopping centre car park. These serve the shopping floor on ground floor, toilets and management offices on 1st floor, and car park levels 1-...

Clips filmed in 2018 and 2023. Firstly before I get into the description, I'd like to thank those who recommended me free online softwares for creating thumbnail images. I have used Google Drawings (recommended by Lift Excelsior) for my image for this video, let me know how you think it looks. Onto the video, the 2018 clip features the original goods lift which was at the time the only working ...
Jolty Hydraulics Compilation!
Переглядів 5829 місяців тому
Here we have my next lift-based compilation, which I wanted to put together for a while, jolty hydraulics (and a few tractions too)! I've been in lots of hydros, but not all of them made huge jolts (the Hydrowared lift at Monmouth car park, Cwmbran being the smoothest ever). I've also included a few tractions which made some jolts. Lots of generics included - mostly Oaklands and Stannahs, note ...
Hand Dryers Compilation 9
Переглядів 22 тис.10 місяців тому
Apologies for the delay with this compilation, I was very busy this past month, but better late than never, right? This will be the last compilation for a good while, as I haven't got enough clips to make the next one. These videos were filmed between 2022 and 2023. Hand dryers are as follows: Warner Howard and Sector, located in a toilet near the beach at Portland, Dorset. Both dryers weren't ...
Hand dryer review FAIL 2
Переглядів 3,7 тис.10 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. Located in a horrible toilet in Carno near Caersws, Mid-Wales next to a Spar shop, where we called at on our way home from North Wales. The toilets were extremely run down, and to top it off, this Arlington Supreme Series 5000 hand dryer wasn't working. Epic fail!
Axel (inst. by Horizon) lift at Dunelm, Hereford Retail Park
Переглядів 36710 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. This was filmed in late November, and the store was very busy, as was the lift. This lift itself is a generic hydraulic Axel lift installed by Horizon with the "Piccadilly Line" voice and Shanghai Step buttons. For a cheap lift that was installed in 2010, it ran decently well though the bumps were quite jolty which isn't unusual with hydros, and I do quite like the "Piccadilly L...
The Queens Arcade's smaller Schindler S Series, and some flashbacks
Переглядів 24710 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023 (older clips filmed 2014, 2019 and 2015 respectively). I wanted to end my day in Cardiff with some Schindler goodness, but sadly the lower floor was being rebuilt when I visited, meaning that the 2 big S Series tractions have been temporarily (I hope) decommissioned. With the lower floor being out of action, the smaller S Series hydraulic lift was only serving the upper floor and...
Otis 2000VF lifts at Capital Centre, Cardiff
Переглядів 36910 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. (older clips filmed in 2014) Apologies for the inactivity over the past couple of weeks, I'll be uploading this video and another today to make up for it. After having lunch at the falafel cafe located at the entrance of the Capital centre, we went to the main Otis 2000VF lifts. I was informed by ZZ9 about the Otis Series 1 in the car park, which sadly got modernised. Another on...
Glass Gen2 at Deichmann at St David's centre, Cardiff
Переглядів 72011 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. Another lift that I hadn't filmed yet in Cardiff is this glass lift at Deichmann shoe shop located on the upper mall of the St David's centre. Because this is on the upper mall, the floor numbering is wrong - it should really be 1 and 2, not 0 and 1. A few other shops on the upper mall follow that floor numbering. Anyhow, the lift in this shop is a nice glass Otis Gen2 (I think ...
Very nice Gen2 Luminas at the St David's centre lower car park, Cardiff
Переглядів 49011 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. This was filmed in November 2023, as I mentioned in my community post, it was a disappointing day for me with regards to filming lifts. I filmed all of 4, would have been more if the new Orona at Zara was working, the same with the lift modded by Oakland in Next. I'll be back hopefully to try again. Anyway, here is a set of 2 lifts which I hadn't filmed yet. These Gen2's serve l...
Hydroware-modded old Bennie lift at Monmouth car park, Cwmbran
Переглядів 88011 місяців тому
Filmed in 2023. This was the third lift I filmed during my afternoon at Cwmbran Centre which was mainly to check out the lift at the centre's new Dunelm. Video of that is already online. The lifts at the Monmouth car park - which is an underground car park on 1 level, were old Bennies. The cab design with the way the lights are arranged screams old Bennie. Both lifts were previously modded with...

(SUBTITLES NOW AVAILABLE) Welcome to my first video of 2024, and the start of a NEW SERIES! I've decided to start that off this year instead of originally planning a different compilation, but that would be online mid-month. Anyway, I've had the Top 10s idea in my head for a while, and I've thought of at least 5 or 6 categories for the series. These will be uploaded throughout the year as and w...
Generic Gen2 at Dunelm, (ex-M&S) Cwmbran Centre
Переглядів 516Рік тому
Filmed in 2023. Back in November, we had the chance to visit Cwmbran Centre to check out the new Dunelm in the old M&S shop unit, and to also film some favourites in the area. You may recognise the lift from my previous video which will be linked in a card. If not, it's an Otis Gen2 but a very generic-style Gen2, with Dewhurst buttons big and small, and a generic indicator. Last time I filmed i...

This lift has since been modernised with Lester Controls

My compilations are inspired by yours, only they hve music over the top of the videos except for my newer compilation+ which does but not over the videos themselves
Anyone know when Compilation 10 will come out? I've also filmed a Turboforce Junior, at a restaurant in Ely

Been in this lift couple of times since it had old dewhurst fixtures till new dewhurst fixtures since 2009. Im suprised on levels 1 and 4 have kept the old original dewhursts call buttons! plus the exterior lift door on level 4 has been replaced too.
Now wilkos thing of the past in cheltenham
Thanks for the shout out Love Lifts
DieselDucy actually has the call buttons to one of these lifts now
You're awesome, Love Lifts!! :)
This Is A Good Example Of A Marmite Modernisation, You Either Like It Or Think That Thyssen Ruined It. And I Kind Of On The Ruined Side, Only Because The Voice Is WAY Too Loud.
Note: These Lifts Were Completely Replaced With Otis 2000’s I Think, But It Doesn’t Matter Now Because House Of Fraser Closed About 2 Years Ago.
R.I.P, that really sucks. Also, I would like to ask a rather big question. Could you possibly help me spread the word about my "Official Elevator Enthusiast Machine Room In-Sync Compilation"? Jowevator's Official Elevator Enthusiast Compilations have inspired me to start my own! (But the only problem is that my channel isn't as big or popular as yours, which would cause this wonderful idea of mine to become a failure due to either not having any participants or not having enough participants.) However, if you don't want to, you don't have to, but I would appreciate your help. I just posted the announcement video about it today.
Blue dry is pretty new
3:02 Curse you, knockoff!
Why? Thats an aike hand dryer
@rafaeldiaz7870 Knockoff Xlerators
Escalators and HSTs... The best of the best!!!
Real shame - hope the building doesn't stay empty for long. Not many places you can see old OTIS lifts now so sad those ones got decommissioned. Also they totally missed a trick with the store name - should've called it Cavendish House of Fraser XD
I think it's been reopened for pop-up traders on the ground floor, according to an online news site. I know right, if there were such a place as a lift museum when they preserve and still operate old lifts, I'd go there in a heartbeat! And lol the store name XD
@lovelifts1736 Ah OK fair enough. Yeah secondhand lifts would be interesting - places unable to afford a brand new lift could just buy a secondhand one - imagine strolling into your local supermarket and finding a completely original 60s Express! I mean car dealerships do it, so why can't lift companies? XD
Over 200 years?! Wow
I know right! :)
I think the world dryer model a is the best hand dryer
I like xlerators
The abo4 or abo2 sounds like a db
My daughter is autistic and super scared of hand dryers but were woring on it. Although she is scared i think its becoming a special interest of hers and ive found she loves telling them off for scaring her and watching videos of them. Never thought id be watching dryer compilations 15 years ago but here we are lol. Thank you.
I am also autistic and used to be scared of hand dryers too especially very loud ones

Hate to seem pretentious, but EcoDisc is the motor Kone use, and MonoSpace is the model. This is a common mistake, often used by Beno viewers. Another thing to note is that there are no generations of MonoSpace, just changes in fixtures. Once again Mr Gittings is at fault. And lift engineers call pre-doors ADO; Beno, AGAIN. As I said, these are common mistakes.
Once again, sorry to seem insulting, keep up the good work! 👍🏼
@@MitsubishiGTO Hi, thanks for the comment, and the technical information (which I need)! I'll for sure take that on board. Am I correct in thinking that ADO stands for Advanced Door Opening?
Yes; ADO does stand for advanced door opening- I think Kone uses this term internally, same as terms like ACU. Just saying this because lifts are complex and it’s ok to use simplified terms most of the time- e.g. generations of Kone MonoSpace instead of fixtures (4th gen MS instead of MS with KSS280)
In America, they call it "Classic Leveling"!
I'd defo stick with wide angle - imo it's a much better representation of what the viewer's eyes would see if they were there in person, and usually I find that's the best type of camera angle. I took it up a few years ago and have never gone back lol. But the normal angle works fine too.
Thanks, I'll definitely play around with it, see what works for me. Never had a wide angle lens on a phone until last year lol :)
Looks good. 😊
Thanks :)
6:32 sounds like a different language lol Edit: 7:21 sounded like somebody closed the door lol Edit 2: Yes i liked my own comment
I think wide angle is best in small lifts. Had to use it on a 8 person Stannah I filmed today for example. Is also good if you want to get an angle of the door and the indicator in the same shot! :))
Cool, I'll try that door and indicator angle some time, thanks :)
Nice
Thanks :)
@@lovelifts1736 your welcome I do film hand dryers and stuff to when I went to Southampton recently I saw a Mitsubishi jet towel slim airfury and a +TSL
Oooh, nice lift, looks good! Very interesting! Maybe you should use them often. Realisticly, it's up to you :)
I really like it, and I quite like the Lester mod on it too IMO. I appreciate that they've kept the original Express lift plaque. Thanks for the comment re the wide angle, I'll play around with it in other lifts :)
Sad to see it’s original logic gone. I think the wide angle lens looks better with more compact lifts because it helps to show everything a bit easier, but it isn’t always needed for bigger lifts. But both are good though
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try it on a bigger lift at some point as well :)
its not called the "logic", its a controller. they are the same, but controller is the actual name for it. logic is just used by beno.
@@Morgansliftadventures I’m honestly not surprised that his vocabulary has rubbed off on me 😭 but yay other trans person
