The motherboard didn’t have an extra USBC plug so all it affected was my top USB-C port on my case didn’t work. Other than that, no problems at all!

You can use any GPU with that motherboard as long as it fits the case and your power supply is strong enough.

Hey sorry for the late response , so the omen motherboard actually uses intel mounting brackets even though it’s an AMD CPU lol. It’s weird . So try out an intel mount and see if that works?

@@AzzurroGaming yea i found out the hard way that it uses intel mounting lol. well I did find intel mountings that also support amd fan coolers but the issue is that the Wraith Max Cooler is so thick that the mountings dont let the cooler touch the CPU. so I'm just going to stick with the default fan and maybe upgrade the motherboard.

I believe it’s the CORSAIR - RMx Series RM850x 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply - Black. I got it from Best Buy … in my personal rig I have the same one but 750w . Fits nicely in the case no issues

I believe it’s the Asus b550F gaming . There’s newer ones out now and also this one didn’t have WiFi/bluetooth built it in but it’s been a great motherboard. Only issue I had was first one they sent me was Dead on arrival but best buy exchanged it no issue

Definitely look up what graphics cards can work with the 500watts power supply. Each one has different recommendations. Some 4070s will work with 500watts and also the 3060 and 3070 should as well. And I’m not sure what case you have but just make sure the dimensions of the card fit nicely and has some air flow! Good luck 👍🏻

Yeah for sure that’s how started with my omen when I had it. At the time I replaced the GPU with a 3070, then swapped power supplies and from there I ended up building a whole new pc similar to the one in this vid. I don’t have any original parts left from my omen anymore

⁠ I honestly wish I hadn’t bought this one. HP was lousy to deal with as far as customer support and technical support. I still have a Dell from 2003 that has never given me a single problem. I likely will not buy an HP again. very frustrated. I have to spend money to buy another card so soon after purchasing the system but outside of warranty at the same time. 🤦🏾‍♀️😤

Hey! 😆 well yeah basically . And the ram , but what happened was a pre built was bought and was good while it lasted but they wanted a fully custom build so it’s easier in the future to upgrade

Before I did a full upgrade, I had all the stock parts and just swapped out the GPU for a 3070fe because it fit perfectly. That was the biggest difference in performance for me. Airflow isn’t the best in the omen case though so it will run a little hotter.

Yep it was plug and play for me. But once you get everything loaded if you wanna do a fresh install and get rid of all the HP bloatware you can do that too.

Dude I heavily recommend that you transfer your OMEN 30L case in the future The Omen 30L has very limited spots for cooling upgrades and gonna save you a ton in the future The omen 30L has bad airflow Hence why some parts get so freaking HOT! So definitely Upgrade the case

I ended up getting a 3060 and it fit perfectly and works clean. But you are right I got to look into a new case for any other upgrades

i've been using these settings as a one size fits all. more demanding games maybe adjust more but you should be fine like this

install HWinfo, play a game, watch out for max GPU tact and max voltage. In next step u open afterburner and change the settings. find the point in the coordinate system where your max voltage matches your max clock. For me, for example, it was 1075mv and 1950mhz. then you look for the point at 1025mv, for excample, and pull it up to 1950mhz. Then draw the line straight as he did it and test. If everything is stable, you can lower the tension even further and so on.

yes you have to make sure its a gen 3 for the omen motherboard. Also you will need a windows install USB to install windows on the new SSD. I don't think you need a new windows key because its linked with the motherboard but if you do you can find them for cheap online. like $10

Which motherboard ? In the stock Omen motherboard or in the Asus rogB550F ? The omen can only handle about 4 CPUs . The Asus motherboard has a huge list if you go search the b550F gaming motherboard and go to cpu compatibility it can handle alooooooot. Some might require a bios update but it’ll say it in the description

You can use whatever you want as long as it’s compatible with the new motherboard . But if you wanna save money you can use your current CPU and ram

probably best to use a cable that just has the 8 pin connector on it! i'm sure the other will work too but it may be splitting power inbetween connectors so you may not get the full power output to the GPU.
