Gem Rey interviews Simon Posford (Shpongle) 2017
::Taken from Shpongle's Facebook::
"Nice little interview by Gem Rey for Youth's Space Mountain Festival - International Cosmic Arts Lab. I'm messing about with one of the tracks from the new Codex 6 album, that we'll be performing at Space Mountain Festival and also at the Twisted Records party in London next week."

How to successfully kill an interview in the edit… 😢
A man with pretty fair karma !
Codex VI and the first album are amazing. I like the others. The third one is a bit of a slog, but a blessing in disguise in that we got more than the originally planned trilogy. Ineffable Mysteries is a banger as well.
I aspire to study at Posford University!
When I first got sober and started growing and eating mushrooms I had no idea where to start with good psychedelic music that wasnt from the 60s. I typed in mushroom lsd music and Shpingle popped up. Clicked and put on headphones and dosed and here I am now! I always suggest Shpongle to new travelers and every single one falls completely in love with them!
I'm a simple man. I see Simon Posford, I click LIKE. I see a Minilogue in the background, I click LIKE. I see my second click did not create a double LIKE but rather removed the first one. I get sad. I'm not a simple man anymore.
Simon’s production is absolutely ridiculously GOOD! I’m so sorry to say this in my opinion but It’s way better than Noisia’s production. I know I know I shouldn’t say that but Shpongle is wayyyy more advanced than Noisia’s production.
But Noisia is making other type of music, neurofunk and dnb with some breakbeat probably, how can you compare those 2 different types of music? they're both good, just in different ways
Психоделия это замечательно🤔 Слава психонавтам!Но какой профессионализм!!!Высшая ступень мастерства 😎🤝 Магистр Саймон🙏🙏🙏
I've been really getting into Simon's earlier work as Hallucinogen lately, and now I'm really getting into Shpongle's music, which is not your typical psychedelic music, I would describe it as more of a psychedelic rainbow of sounds and music, I love how his tracks have drums that change time signature right in the middle of the track.
Love to hear a new album, something that signals the 2020's..
Cool to learn he is an introvert and has succeeded gives hope to all the timid musicians out there

Great camera work and editing - you see it all but understand nothing.
amazing interview. sadly for a non native speaker like me hard to understand when the background music is that loud
the same reason i make music <3
I think I'd be willing to give a kidney to see Shpongle perform live
He is a wonderfull and very creative musican
First track namee?
Kind of surprised such an artifact such as the original Shpongle mask was stolen. You would think people at these shows would be a bit more considerate. Well, whoever has it now, I hope they're treating it well and with respect.
The absolute highest mental level of musical artistry. So many memories and journeys you helped shape. Thank you!
Thank you!
Masters of the Universe!!!
nice desk. what's the name? anybody?
Amazing creativity this soul has!!!
I still absolutely love Younger Brother. Still listen to the CD at least one a month.
Vaccine was my favorite album for like 5 years....probably the longest one album has held that title for me.
"Logic Pro has quit unexpectedly" ....my god he's human like me.
LOL
Same haha
Does anyone else feel Shpongle as a spiritual opening? This music has been ever in my blood since a young teenager...it allows you to see "how the jellyfish climbed up the mountain"! Crazy tho I don't need hallucinogenic drugs to lose myself in the spiritual gifts it offers...I feel the music as well as hear it...(btw, I saw Shpongle in NOLA with Goopsteppa past weekend! An epic laser show!!!!)
I don't care what name he uses for recording... Simon is God!
wonder if he still gets high
I think he says he still does DMT, LSD, weed, shrooms, etc.
Listening now with ear buds. M
So love your 🎶
Genius.
legend.
Indeed a very talented humble spirit...!
Just don't criticize him haha, then he goes ballistic :)
i recognize the quality of trance that he made (even if a stop wriiting trance anymore). Well done Simon!
1:17 what song is it ??
Herr Gringleflapper's Secret Stash Box
@@JensVanDeAarde Cheers mate!
Have been a fan of shpongle since the 1990s. Music that still inspires me and carries great amounts of energy. so happy to see a new album :D Brilliant producer and group.
Воистину Саймон просветитель💥🔥
The music sometimes is so loud I can't hardly hear what he's saying, it's pretty disappointing
listen again on acid :O
Right? There's not a whole lotta Simon Posford interviews floating around. As much as I appreciate the work they put into editing, I'd kinda prefer a longform, uncut interview where I can hear everything he says without having to strain every minute 😓😓
I listened Codex VI with friends on a shity JBL speaker, everyone on acid, jaws dropped and eyes rolled back every minute by the insane psychedelia filling that living room. Thank you so much Si for the incredible moments your music provides us!
Give me some DMT
Inspiration 💜
The editing here is so fucking bad.
who the hell stole the shpongle mask??
yahahahaha!
Simon Posford is seriously my favorite human being and I am so inspired by him and his work. Also glad to see we have the same midi controller. :::)
Nice watching him play the piano towards the end
Brilliant artist and producer
