Hi, I'm Rishi, a Meditation Coach based in London, England.
After a challenging childhood, I lost both my parents early, and at 21, that was a lot to handle. I resorted to a "work hard, party harder"lifestyle as an escape. Five years later, I knew I needed a change.
In 2016, I stumbled upon meditation, a practice that became my anchor, helping me break free from the grip of alcohol and other distractions. This was a pivotal moment.
Driven by the desire to share this life-transforming practice, in 2019 I quit my job and left for India to deepen my inner-journey. There I got to learn from diverse spiritual traditions, teachers, including a life-changing experience meeting the Dalai Lama.
India was a sanctuary for me to work through long stored emotions and learn how to pacify the resentment & fears that were deep within me.
I now help people who want to fully take the drivers seat of their mind & emotions & create a life of peace, compassion & service.

🌸 What is Love and Compassion? | Meditation with Rishi 🌸
Namaste and welcome! It’s Rishi here from meditatewithrishi.com. In this video, we’re diving into the true meaning of love and compassion-concepts that, when fully understood, can completely transform the way we experience life.
At our core, love and compassion are our true nature. When we connect with these qualities within ourselves and see them in others, we can transform our relationships, overcome negative emotions like fear and anxiety, and find a deeper sense of harmony.
In this video, I explore: ✨ The Buddha's definitions of love and compassion:
Love is the wish to be happy.
Compassion is the wish not to suffer.
We can hold these feelings for ourselves, and we can hold them for others. But according to the Buddha’s teachings, the idea of "self" and "other" is an illusion. At the ultimate level, we are all one-one awareness expressing itself in many forms.
Just like the ocean creates waves as expressions of its beauty, our awareness manifests in all forms of life. While we appear as separate individuals, we share the same fundamental nature-the wish to be happy and free from suffering.
💡 The Problem
We forget this oneness and prioritize ourselves over others, or sometimes others over ourselves. Both extremes cause imbalance:
Self-cherishing leads to strained relationships where my happiness becomes more important than yours.
Self-neglect can lead to resentment and inner turmoil.
The solution lies in equalizing our understanding: recognizing both our own desire for happiness and that others share the same desire. When we balance these perspectives, we create harmony within ourselves and our relationships.
🧘♂️ The Solution: Meditation Meditation allows us to connect with our true nature-our natural mind. Starting with practices like awareness of breath and body (Shamatha), we rest in calm abiding. But there’s also a more direct way to nurture love and compassion: compassion meditation.
In the second part of this video, I’ll guide you through a meditation where we mentally recognize our wish to be happy and not suffer, and extend this recognition to others. From the food we eat to the actions we take, everything we do is an expression of love and compassion.

I sit crossed legged comfortably & hold my mala with my right arm resting on my knee.. I placed a kavi cloth on my right side so that the mala doesn't touch the floor. Except for the index finger my mala rests on the rest of 3fingers & I use my thumb to move the beads while I chant. After Japan I leave the mala curled up in front of shivashakti figure/photo. Is this right? I feel uncomfortable holding the mala up to my chest like in some videos. Kindly guide me. Thank you

Im 50s my baby hair a lot after i dont relapse and do semen retention...i believe this
Are we social creatures or are we supposed to be totally unaffected by every other human? Are we islands or not?
💀💀 Bruh, Semen retention? Let's talk facts, not fairy tales. The idea that holding in your “man juice” gives you some mystical superpowers is pure nonsense. Yes, Ayurveda talk's about it, of course as usual, it has solutions to everything 🙄 🤷, but science knows and has been always honest about everything that no there are things we still don't know but we are making progress everyday, but let's get back to semen retention, it actually has research and here's the deal, science today has proven that the body naturally produces semen and reabsorbs it when not used. It’s just biology doing its thing, not some spiritual energy loss. For those thinking, "Ayurveda discovered everything before modern science," let’s be clear, stuff like semen retention, has no scientific evidence to back it up 💀, it's literally BS. In fact it has downside, you can actually look up articles and peer-reviewed research papers. Do not blindly follow ideas without updating them with actual data and facts. You think holding it in will give you more energy or make you smarter? Nah, fam. The real science says your body is a well-oiled machine that doesn’t care about retaining semen. If you want more energy, focus on things that actually work, sleep well, eat right, stay hydrated, and get some exercise. That’s what boosts your health and brain power not holding back something your body naturally produces. And let’s be real, the guilt people feel about releasing? That's just cultural pressure. There's no loss of life force, no spiritual failure. We’re humans, these processes are natural, not something to be ashamed of. For anyone clinging to Ayurveda’s version of everything is true, I get it traditional wisdom feels comforting, but it's foundation is literally "flawed". And just because something is old doesn’t make it true. Semen retention might have sounded like a good idea thousands of years ago, but with modern science in the picture, it’s clear those claims don’t hold up. don’t ignore progress and actual data. Bottom line? Live your life, don’t buy into outdated guilt trips, and don’t pretend holding in your semen is going to turn you into some unstoppable force. Focus on the stuff that really matters for your health.
And you can achieve that concentration just by watching the breath😊
This is the most clear and well structured explanation I have found! Thank you very much Rishi
In my very first attempt in meditation when i was 16-17 years old I’ve experienced this state. My breath stopped and I was surrounded by this white light. It was a beautiful experience but the breath stopping made me panic because I thought I stopped breathing so I opened my eyes and felt the sensations of pins and needles all over my body. If I could do it again I’d definitely like to sit with that experience for a longer period of time but I can’t reach this state again after 13 years.
😅 wow
Read the book "Science of being well" by wallance wattles. You will learn everything about the body healing itself. I have the book already. I would love to share
This video is wonderful, the path of Bhakti is easily understood in this video. Thank you so much🙏🙏
Explaining the importance of gradual change helped me so much! Thank you. All I ever hear is “QUIT NOW” “STOP IMMEDIATELY because what you’re doing is sinful and God is ashamed of you for it!” And every time I tried to go cold turkey it was exhausting and mentally consuming and after a few days of it I can’t even focus and I’m irritable and unhappy and eventually just cave and fall back into the routine. But I’ve found when I gradually take bigger and bigger steps, going longer periods with what my body is comfortable with, it is SO MUCH more of a positive experience and actually goes successfully. Thank You so much!
Love you brother

what you need in order to start Pranayama Sadhana is to go through Yama, Niyama and Asana Sadhana at least on an initiation level. This can take one or two years of daily practice (not on your Yoga-matt, but 24/7), depending on your consistency and your intensity. You don't need to master these practices, but you need to go through them to be safe. And you need to be able to sit stabil and comfortable for at least 1 hour. This is mandatory, and without this preparation, any attempt of doing Pranayama Sadhana is irresponsible and potentially dangerous. It is also advisable before beginning the practice to detox your body as much as you can by fasting, eating light food, having as much fresh air as possible, drink lot of water etc. for at least 2 weeks, and to prepare nadis by doing Hatha Yoga practice, or at least stretching exercises daily for at least 2 weeks. Pranayama Sadhana gives results - always. The question is - are they going to be the beginning of your ascent or your downfall. It is up to you. Do the necessary work before starting with Pranayama, do not rush it, enjoy the process, and the results will come to your advancement in a long journey yet ahead.
Gods and Goddesses are personifications of the qualities of the Divine Creator and hold Their respective potencies- 'Nama Tattva'.

You are referring to Karma and Jnana Yoga in your explanation of Samkhya. Merging back to Purusha brings you back to where you started to repeat the cycle of developing an individual 'Ego'. Whilst the Samkhya explains the fabric of creation, it does not provide the ultimate direction for our lives and that very 'Ego". Nevertheless, Bhakti Yoga on the other hand morphs an ego into the highest state of intelligence, navigating it to the The Eternal Source of the Energy and everything else there, or here may be. Principles assumed in Samkhya regarding Satvic food and Satvic mind are great resources compiled in Ayurveda and Yoga Sutras, to optimise this process whilst in the Human Body. Jai
Question: Is Raja yoga similar to the 'Western' concept of Yoga?
No, it refers to a combination of planetary placements in a D1 kundli chart
