Watched the Under 17 Koorie grand final the day after the NRL Grand Final. A Supercoach player etc... no bunker.... Couldn't turn it off... fantastic footy, grass roots , best game I have seen this year.

Good stuff boys! Interesting to hear your thoughts. I rewatched it last night. I thought the game was awesome. Such good defence from both teams. Penrith had too much mongrel for storm to handle, they put everything into it! Panthers were the fitter team. I thought Tagos effort and intensity was HUGE. Turuva was sensational! Katoa and grant were Melbourne's best IMO Also, Jahrome Hughes copped a massive hit in a tackle in the first half that went unnoticed, he got up and staggered when playing the ball. Also Wishart copped one almost identical and almost staggered. Penriths effort on every play showed their hunger. I thought the reffing was ok, slow play on the balls could have been called there were some really obvious ones that should have been 6 again both ways but to be fair to Klein he set the standard early and both teams took advantage of it. We all thought no try at home. Joey was tripping on the commentary. Also channel 9 commentary is so poor they really take the hype out of the game. The blokes are on easy street just talking rubbish they need to stay with the play and call each play. It's almost unbearable once you've watched fox where they keep up with the play, actually talk tactics and make it so much more interesting!!

Just to answer Trav regarding 4K broadcasts. If Foxtel has the exclusive rights to the game (9 not showing, recorded using Foxtel cameras), the game will most likely be in 4K assuming the game is at Commbank, Accor, Allianz etc. Like how most Saturday's all 3 games are 4K. If 9 has the rights, recorded using 9's cameras, the game is HD only on Foxtel.

I found the grand final so boring but I also conceded really early that it was clear Panthers were going to win so it was hard for me to get into the rest of the match.

Poor take. Its the same thing with Stephen Crichton against the Warriors. Stephens was worse where he actually led with the shoulder where big NAS was trying to get low, Collins get folded by the #12 which leads to the head falling into NAS shoulder

Should have been a red card. This guy had form. The way that Collins got up and played the ball the wrong way is awful. That’s a CTE causing tackle every day of the week.

Is this like when Taylan May (Penrith) was allowed to play even though he was found guilty of assult and he was allowed to serve his suspension the following year so he could play in the Grand Final. This guy just said it himself intial contact was with the shoulder, therefore it is an accident due to the two other players altering Colins body position.

Dogs players hurt like any other team but the huge difference is they turn pain into fuel, when others turn pain into excuses.... This is a team that simply won't stop coming at you.. As a sharks supporter I hated the dogs growing up because they absolutely bashed us every time and mostly the hits were legal! Terry Lamb,.. David cement Gillespie, Dean pay, Chris Mortimer.... on and on... Ruthless... 2024 and I see a Dogs team that channels the same energy. Self preservation is cowardice.. Every contested ball is a matter of life and death... Manly or Dogs?... it's even but I think the dogs have another gear in them... Whether it's 2024 or next season.. Time will tell...

The board aern't bothered like. They are just care about membership numbers and crowd figures. Two of the board members come from a financial background/corporate background, they are not league people or understand how a rugby league club operates.

I think some people out there have the idea that if you are associated with Melbourne or Easts that it therefore means they will bring success wherever they go. There has been a few now in the NRL who at some stage were an assistant at Melbourne or Easts and it hasn't translated into success. I am hoping Ryles is one of those that is successful and can prove some of the doubters wrong.
