Hiboy KS4 Scooter Troubleshooting - Resolving F1 Error Code (Brake Lever Replacement)
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on addressing the F1 Error Code on your Hiboy KS4 scooter display. If you've encountered this issue, fear not - we've got you covered with step-by-step instructions to rectify the problem. Please note this guide is a general reference, and different scooter models may have varying components. Always exercise caution and prioritize safety throughout the repair process.
⚠️ WARNING: Electrical components are involved in this repair. Proceed at your own risk and ensure your safety by disconnecting the scooter from the power source before starting any work. If you're not the original owner, repair assistance or warranty might not be applicable.
🔴 CAUTION: This repair involves working with electrical components. Perform the repair at your own risk and ensure the scooter is disconnected from the power source before beginning. If you're not the original owner, please be aware that repair assistance and warranty might not apply.
Step 1: Contact Hiboy for Assistance
Upon encountering the F1 Error Code, your first action is to reach out to Hiboy's customer support. Initiate a repair case to obtain the correct replacement part required. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations diligently.
Step 2: Diagnose the Issue
Once you have the replacement part, begin by testing for continuity and resistance. If these tests yield no results, it's likely the brake lever is the culprit. Consult the owner's manual to ensure proper diagnostic procedures.
Step 3: Brake Lever Replacement
Examine the brake lever for any signs of impact damage. If none are present, proceed with the replacement process. If your scooter is under warranty, this might be covered; otherwise, consider seeking professional assistance.
Step 4: Replacing the Brake Lever
Carefully remove the handlebar grip.
Adjust the rear caliper brake cable to create slack.
Utilize a 5mm T-wrench to detach the brake lever cable from the lever.
Remove the lower display screws to gain access to the display area. (Note: Be cautious with small hardware; handle it with care.)
Step 5: Installation of the New Brake Lever
a) If the F1 Error Code is Resolved:
Reconnect the brake sensor display using the new lever.
Install new heat shrink.
Securely fasten the wiring.
Remount the display cover.
Reinstall the display hardware.
Attach the cable back into the brake lever.
Tighten the lever onto the handlebar securely.
Install the Gromit and grip.
Readjust the rear caliper brake cable and remove slack from the brake line.
b) If the F1 Error Code Persists:
Reach out to the technical support line for further guidance.
Please remember that this guide is for informative purposes only. Your safety is paramount, so exercise necessary precautions and adhere to the manufacturer's recommended practices. Dealing with electrical components demands careful handling to prevent potential hazards. If you're uncertain, consider seeking expert assistance.

Could recommend to me what exact tannus products I need for my super 73 rx? I cannot go through another tube replacement. Too many bolts and stuff to take off.
Hi do you know the number of the bearing that is on the side that's replaceable at @11.59 as i need to order one now
I have an s1 and my motor works perfect however my rear rim is broken so it cant hold the tire on, how would i fix this, could i just get a new rim or would i need a whole new moter and tire
thats awesome ill have to do this. I wonder if you could turn the C clamps around after you cut to fit, would that look cleaner on the inside ? thx
Threads might get damaged but you could certainly probably pull it off
Can anyone tell me the socket to get with the 2 pegs?
Hi There, anybody source a new free-hub to completely replace this part. I have a ZX with a good motor and clutch. Just looking for a replacement free-hub. Thx. Nice video, helped me take mine apart. Found the tool on amazon and grinded down to fit, works great. Thanks
I had this exact problem. Fixed it thanks to this video!! The spring to search for is a pawl spring. The ones on Amazon were a bit larger than the one in the e-bike hub, but they worked fine after bending them smaller
also ,i have had these rear view cameras, on my other etrike and now putting the rear view camera on my grizzly :0
yea i just bought the ammo cans and stuff, i plan on doing a yellow and black color on them as my grizzly is yellow and i used your links ok :0
dude, i am 62 years old now and even i have the grizzly ok :0
That's because the grizzly is the best bike currently available. Amd your the smartest 62 year old i know lol. I might be bias but I also think my generation of grizzly is the easiest to work on and repair. The new grizzly the front motor cable is buried in the frame
@@voltandbolt0901 yup i notice that too, i was looking for where the front tire cable connected and cannot see it, was thinking what happen here ok, but i have the V3 grizzly hehe
@@voltandbolt0901 yea, i am planning on getting the X-class for my wifey next ok :0
@@voltandbolt0901 well to be honest, i would not mind lowering, the grizzly a little and was thinking maybe i can do that with the tires ok :0
yea, that was so cool, that woman is totally awesome :0
Dude, you like gave me a very good idea, but also i got the single wicked thumb headlight and i also bought the double wicked thumb headlight for my yellow grizzly ok, but putting those 2 fog lights on, YES that is the idea you gave me ok :0
Dude I wanna see that finished product 100%
@@voltandbolt0901 sure once i get the fog lights mounted and stuff hehe
@@voltandbolt0901 but yes i think the single wicked thumb headlight looks good, but i would like to see how the double wicked thumb looks like too, once i get it ok, i will link pics on here to you ok :0
@@voltandbolt0901 now i have the wicked thumb single headlight mounted now, but not sure if it is mounted in a good spot or not, but i see on your grizzly, you have one light upper, mounted where i have my wicked thumb mounted, want to make sure, the shocks do not cause any issues with the light ok :0
@@voltandbolt0901 plus tell your wifey, it is a investment, not a waste of money ok hehe
Go papa go!!!!❤❤❤❤
He went, he saw, he considered going further....he is DL
this would be perfect for small towns if you doordash or just to travel and hang out!
That's exactly what I do 100%
love this content!
Thank you so much, lots of work goes into it so I'm glad you love it. Make my heart sing ! ♥️
@@voltandbolt0901 Im going to start another channel about vlogging and ebikes as well, havent seen anyone big into the one i have plans for so im looking forward to your content for ideas!!!
@@asmrecap are you in Chicago?
Thank you for the video. Can you post a link to that 2 prong freehub tool? Thank you.
Gotta love jonn!!!
That's awesome bro. Joliet Illinois, I'm from Aurora not to far from you but i know line in N. California wish I still lived out that way I'd ride with you bro. Take care of you safe
I have an ebike that is similar to the frame on the black bike next to it but the 2 top tube bars are the same diameter apart NOT like the black one there in the video, is there a way I could mount a false fuel tank on that type of frame, or is there a fuel tank like the one you have there that can fit on a dual top bar frame? That looks awesome though and is something I would like to do to my ebike when it arrives.
It's a colemen gas tank. I had to cut the front seat to get it fit properly so I can turn without interference
My Engwe M20 is on the FedEx truck and will be here this afternoon!
We keep getting the same bikes at the same time we mine as well make a video together !!!!!

Honestly that is pretty sweet. Love the rearview camera.
we are giving away a rear camera for the spring tune up giveaway
Great job man! Love your mods
I appreciate it!
I watched the whole video. Where is the unboxing?
In the very beginning I pulled it out of the box. People who actually flim themselves opening an ebike I click right off right away. Unboxings are boring 😴
@@voltandbolt0901 I like the unboxings. Especially on a high dollar item I want to see how well (or not) it is packed. :(
@I Scoot Connecticut to be fair, my footage got corrupted. All I had was us pulling it out. I've opened about 20 bikes. This was well packed the same as any bike I've opened
Nice review!
Really like the bags, I am thinking of painting a couple of Ammo boxes for this same look thanks for the tip
send pictures !!!!! make sure you join volt and bolts group page on facebook to enter into the giveaway, we are giving away a free tank !!!!

Where did you get the tank for the grizzly?
Monster scooter its a colemen mini bike gas tank
My wife said the same thing about my grizzly Wives don't know what they talking about? I think it looks beautiful. This life is short enjoy it brother...
I can admit my wife is usually right. .this time though she was wrong. Thanks for your support 🙏
What's your take on the quality of the grizzly V2? I've been reading on complaints about them from the BBB and majority is mostly on quality of the batteries and customer service that if there's quality issues with them such as electronic issues, they are not responsive on resolving them? I'm now hesitant on purchasing them just because of lack of customer service. It's not a good idea spending thousands and if you have a problem, I hear you're out of luck. What's your experience and advice on them?
So the people who are not being responded to are most likely people who are 2nd hand owners. These are absolutely machines and when it comes to a man made product yes there are faults. I always had such a great experience with ARDA and his brother and team. ARIEL RIDER is a family owned company. They will only handle iusses, parts of customers who are the original owners. Everyone who is crying to the BBB bought their VEHICLES 2nd hand. These need weekly maintenance and when properly maintained the machine will run smoothly. I never had any problems with my V2
Pure awesomeness.
Thank you, ❤️
Hey man I sent you a message before and you replied. I have another question to ask you. I bought brand new tires for my Grizzly, but the front tire I don't know where the wires are that connect the motor to the wheel. Can you make a video about that where to find the wires and how to disconnect the front wheel from the motor correctly? I would really appreciate a man thank you for come back to me the last time I hope you can help me out this time again
Bro, I can make a video, but it's not a rookie repair. Sounds like you lost a spoke, possibly? If you bought your bike brand new from Ariel Rider, you can order more spokes, and a local bike shop can install and balance the wheel for you. Anyone can replace a spoke, but it sounds like you need your rim put back into tru.
@@voltandbolt0901 no it has nothing to do with the spokes it's changing the front tire to put the new tires on. I don't know where to disconnect the tire from the motor so that the tire is detached from the bike to put new tire on the rim.
@Orange Zigzags okay gotcha !!!!! I'll run a video, it takes me some time to edit them but I'll throw one out there for you 😉
@@voltandbolt0901 Man you’re the best!! Is there any way I can send you a donation or some type of cash for helping me out? I just don’t want to fuck up my bike and I need these tires put on because the ones that came with the bike suck.
@@voltandbolt0901 ❤️
those are bad-ass headlights! Have a link where I can get one of those for my Grizzly? Thanks much
Bought them 3 years ago. Link is no good anymore. Got them from Amazon
Do you insure your eBikes in the event it gets stolen? If not, what types of security do you use to ensure it can deter thieves?
Yes I have then ensured thru best buy and I have a live feed tracker and a apple tag and a tile tag. Yes it did get stolen once. I was without my bike for all of 5 mins before I tracked it down
@@voltandbolt0901 how was the bike and how did it get stolen ...? any vid on that?
@Make ZENS no vid got taken while I was out riding. They couldn't operate it and I added a bunch if minds which man it heavy to pedal
@@voltandbolt0901 sweet, i bet the person who took it, was really surprise hehe
Stylish
After the ride; how much battery power you had left?
My batteries were still full
I have to thank Benito Vega for turning me on to your channel. Reminds me of where I live. Cleveland.
I bought the Grizzly bike and I’m looking for tires and I saw this video and I’m going to purchase the tires that you purchased. I was wondering is there a reason why you got 4.5” tire for the front and a 5” tire for the rear?
I went with a staggered setup for a wider rear tire. The more area the tire covers the better the grip and traction. I wish i would of don't 4.5 front and rear though tbh
Awesome video. Thought it would have been harder
My Grizzly is on its way , And even b4 I get it I’d like to change the tires ... and probably these that you choose.. but I was looking at another video that had the 5” on the rear and they were saying that there was minor rubbing , I’d prefer not to deal with that issue... do you think you could get the same quality ride with identical tires front and back ( 4s ) I’m assuming these have a better grip than the standard tires . But the 5 sturdies the bike much more ! 90 bucks not a bad price
4.5 in the front and 4.5 in the rear allow you to use all gears with maximum amount of tire tread touching the pavement
Thinking about getting Ariel Rider step thru model for Chicago next year... have you ever got into trouble ridding in lake front bike path? I'm a bit afraid moped style bike is gonna be cop magnet.
Just don't ride like an idiot and run people over and you'll be fine
what a great town to ride in, car drivers are pretty good too. I notice they dont honk much either.
Yah if a car hits a bike in Chicago forget it your going to jail
Nice nice thank you for all the info 🫵👍#28⚡😜✌
bro could you help me fix my rear motor my axle broke off and the i tried welding an axle back onto it and idk what went wrong i think maybe the wiring messed up I'm not too sure can i send you pictures

Did you fix it? What is solution. I broke axel? Help?
