Welcome to The Business Brew
This podcast’s mission is to dig deep into the thought patterns and analysis of investors and business people. The podcast stemmed from Bill Brewster consistently feeling like he was listening to prepackaged material while listening to podcasts. Instead, he wanted long form, in depth, discussions about finance, capital allocation, and the psychology of investing/business.
Bill is a private investor. He cohosts the podcast Value: After Hours with Tobias Carlisle and Jake Taylor. Tobias, Jake and Bill met at a Berkshire Hathaway meeting and formed a lasting friendship. And, as it turns out, people really like the podcast.
While Bill tries to replicate Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger’s thought processes, he is influenced by Bill Miller III, Stan Druckenmiller, and others. This podcast is his attempt to dig deeper into other investing/business philosophies and share the knowledge with the world.

Excellent video. For the ETF “RSSB” why use a treasuries ladder versus simply investing in long-term treasuries?
no transcript makes me a sad boy
Preordered the book months ago, finally came the other day! Can't wait to dig in. thanks for the work Alex, and thanks to Bill as always for these convos!
How beautiful. May I request you think about a podcast chat with the guy who makes Bluey please? I mean how awesome would that be? And given Bluey coins are minted by the Government of Australia mind you? Maybe, maybe you could score a gold coin with Bluey’s signature I mean is that possible? Hmm? A framed coin with a pawprint in the dirt yeah and the blue heeled dog bounded to find a ball to play with
Would being a gem and helping to trade in the wonderful commodity of Bley coins help? I think they are great and have some myself because I love them as you may appreciate Bluey as well, because Bluey rocks ❤️🎵 Luving in the Land of Iz can take you places with wide open sky, bare feet and a connection to what is treasure. Depths of the night sky offer a heartbeat of truth and what you guys share is awesome and will help people by your groundbreaking inquiring intelligence coupled with true depth of experience and good on you! As for what is of value in comparison to what a family member could have contributed to your ascendency of lifestyle, well? My view is good on you for reflecting on that mattress with a pebble and like tree rings that ripple like a pond and a touch of sparkle let me ponder if the way that time travels and if time is money and cash to burn like a roaring fireplace of commerce then bring it on and bank on Bluey coins to invest in the futures market because even kids know what the value of treasure is yeah?
Thank you very much for this information. We are in the End Times. Interplanetary ships are ready to go out to rescue all those people who are eliminating their psychological defects. The key is in the book "Hercolubus or Red Planet" by V.M. Rabolu. You can read it in PDF in several languages.
My guys I admire your courage! It was fun spending time with you. Bill don't beat yourself, just live! Play life like whatever good you got or inherited it was well deserved, and deliver the message to your kids, to relax them for life. Thank you
The Value is still in Sears, it's very similar to GGP and Alexanders. Legacy Sears Bondholders and Sears Shareholders will receive a recovery.

I'm from the future - Dec-2024 - this video aged very well.
I thought I was in a dream watching this --- the early life hardships of these hero bankers ... This guy should be put in a mental institution, sucking the nob of big bank CEOs as a professional calling, he speaks with such exuberance you can't help but pinch yourself, what a complete waste of a person.
If JP Morgan fucked Disney Land lmao love it
Very natural and enjoyable chat. Really fascinating to hear Mikes journey and I greatly appreciate his candour. Great stuff gents.....
The brew man lets goooooo
Hey Bill. Glad your family is alright. So scary. I can only imagine. You have support in the value community. Absolutely miss the pod. Thanks for this.
Same experience on my end with the connection to the new baby taking a while.
You didn’t talk about your under par round. Possibly the biggest development of all! 😂
Good update. At some point Milton caused 14 or so live active strong tornadoes at one time. Very unexpected and dangerous.
I have no idea how i subscribed to your channel, but since this video popped up in my subscription feed, i figured I'd better listen to an episode to see why. After listening to it, I still don't know how or why i subscribed in the first place, but it was an enjoyable listen, and I'll continue subscribing.
Thank you! I'd check out my William Green episodes, Arnold Van Den Berg, Bob Robotti (for investing), and then just go from there. Appreciate the nice words.
Kudos to Bruce for mentioning connecting to shareholders. Well done, Sir.
Grats on having such a legend on your podcast.
what i got out of that: pick well, neversell, and trim when they become over trillions in market cap 👍
sounds about right
Great stuff. And Mike, if you're reading this: no, we'll never tire of you laying out the thesis once again, because we always learn something new!
I am late, but thank you all for this.
Haha Quakes!!!! 🤘
I have been in the uranium trade since 2018 and Mike is seriously in my top 3 experts in the business.
MUST-LISTEN. GO TO 42:00 if you do NOT have a full hour+ to listen.
Bro, I think the main issue is that it seems like you just walked into their premises without asking for permission. I believe you asked for permission before you walked in and this was not shown in the video? Anyway, keep going bro. Santhosam.
Mike has provided great analysis, but nuclear power development and resulting projected increase in uranium demand is difficult to predict in the face of the NRC’s morass of regulation. SMRs and even restarting TMI will take a lot longer than predicted. It’s possible that the greatly increased investment in uranium development in the Athabaskan Basin, and ISL techniques for example, will allow expanded uranium production to be forthcoming in time to meet the projected shortfall. New laser enrichment technologies currently under development will allow DOE’s DUF6 to be re-enriched and create equivalent U3O8 and UF6 supplies at lower cost than new mining and UF6 conversion capacity. (New capacity at existing UF6 plants require the existing facilities to be shutdown for refurbishment
Comment section filled with uranium a$$holes 4 years late to a trade that's already multibagged. The upside isn't left for the commensurate risk. Far from an unknown situation, It's now a cult trade ala offshore drillers last year: a 'twitter contrarian' favourite.
Excellent.
Brilliant and compelling, it unfolds like a good novel so everything sinks in.
Lessons: be rational, be patient, be convicted.
Being early wasn’t popular but a few did their homework and realized opportunity. Great talk!
Excellent interview on the development of the URANIUM Investment Thesis. #FEW know it better than Mike Alkin.
Wow, thanks. Learning a lot from this interview
Excellent
Great chat. Mike is the uranium GOAT!
Can you just imagine getting Quakes and Mike Alkin together for an interview 👌
Not Justin? :O :D
Another quality interview. Love this podcast.
Not sure I can keep up with this dialogue given bills discernable rage just barely simmering beneath the placid demeanor
Rage huh?
Idk if i can fully process Bill's wild shirt and Dylan's wild scruffy beard in the same podcast.
Tom is a great mentor
Yay
California gets a lot of seaweed on their beaches from which oil can be extracted to make diesel or turned to natural gas via gasification. Non recyclable packaging such pizza boxes can be compressed into biomass pellets that can also be turned into natural gas via gasification. Seaweed from which oil has been extracted can also be compressed into biomass pellets that can be turned into biochar to be used in coal plants or the biomass pellets can be used as cattle feed to reduce land use to raise cattle. This would save shipping costs from buying coal from somewhere else. Fossil energy can no longer compete with solar and wind on a cost basis.
Interesting !
EPD is screaming BUY
Thank you for this interview. As Buffett once said "When I see memos from Howard Marks in my mail, they're the first thing I open and read. I always learn something." I would like to apply this to all your interviews. The questions you ask during your interviews always broadens my perspective. Thank you, Bill!
That's very kind. Thank you.
I thought buffet didn’t pay attention to the macro but only company specific information.Marks only talks macro so what gives?
The value you get from listening to an intelligent interview like this over something on cnbc is like comparing Sees Candy to dimestore gum.
Ha. Thank you!
excellent
