Catching a banned pollock and the art of pouting, Wreck fishing Cornwall. S4 E6 FH20

A fishing trip to deep water wrecks off Cornwall. Pollock are technically off the cards for commercial fishing atm. I'll explain this and what the rules are for accidentally catching pollock as bycatch. We also take a look at everybody's favourite fish the pouting, which we caught plenty of on this trip. Check out the river cottage video on eating this fish here: River Cottage | Hugh Fearnley-W...

The reality of fishing is you have good days and bad days. Understand your bad days you can hope to improve on them in the future. Part 1: It's been blowing an Easterly wind for a week or so and the weather finally drops..we decided to chance a day out and launch the willow pots again at the same time.. which led to a frustratingly slow days fishing. Im in my sixties. I have worked as a lobsterman and a siene boat for baitfish. We once caught a seven foot tuna in the seine net at the end of a runway at Bostons Logan airport. The water was only 6 foot deep. We released the fish by law. Today I work in a boat yard in Massachusetts. The Forager has character. You have skills and some grit. Reeling in bluefin tuna is not like catching a six of mackerel. With that said I would not bet against you, good luck.

It's to do with the type of license entitlement. This is then registered against the commercial fishing boat (has to match the boat KW and Tonnage). Can read more here: www.gov.uk/guidance/do-i-need-a-fishing-vessel-licence

Hi matey, sorry your comment didn't show to me for a while.. just read it. Yeh no worries, not currently looking to sell it but can let you know if I do. Do you know what make it is ? might be handy for spare parts. Cheers

By the looks of it, it was a company called AFWFAB, he stopped making them years ago so I wouldn’t have thought you’d get any spare parts. Please do let me know if you ever want to part with it
